Thank You! This saved me $600 dollars from the Toyota dealership. I purchased the mirror off of Amazon for $64. It took about an hour. Anyone doing this should have a deep socket 10mm. I tried a standard socket and could get the 3 mirror bolts off but couldn't tighten them back on all the way and had to improvise with another tool.
great step by step. Caution, the screw behind the handle Must have had nut or some Kind of keeper. Unscrewed the Screw and lost the keeper. If you pull the door panel off first You could avoid losing the keeper like I did
Thanks for the video. Replaced mirror in about 1 hr in daughter's car. Did have to run out and get a deeper 10mm socket as the mirror bolt longer that the socket she had
Nice video! This saved me $160 over having the dealership do it. I did manage to cross-thread one of the nuts, so I had to take a bolt off the busted mirror to replace the screwed up one, but I wouldn't have done it without this helpful video. Many thanks!
Hi! I replaced the mirror, but after replacement the door window stopped opening all the way down. I tried to do a reset, but it didn’t solve the issue. Do you know what can it be?
I'm sure you've fixed it but I know exactly what it is. The mirror cable has to route thru th hole towards the front of door. You've routed it on th wrong side is why window is hanging.. Ask me how I know...lmao
@@rwells332 Thank you so much for your reply, I actually haven't had time to work on it. This gives me hope! By any chance is the cable routing shown in this video?
@@s28177 On my '22 RAV4 XLE, the panel that you take off to access the mirror bolts has a recess on the top for where the electrical cable must come out over the top of the panel. Then, you tuck the cable into the clip. It's toward the end of the video.
@@SteveWheeler-p4e thank you so much. Both you and @rwells332 helped me identify this problem. It was such a minor issue, but fixing it saved me more money than it probably would have cost to replace the mirror. Haha! I will post a video of this fix, as it seems a good number of people run into this issue

Great video
Hugh help.
Easy to do. But you must do it in the right order. The reverse order step by step..
Thank you for being so thorough 😊
Glad I could help out
Great video, thank you!
To remove the cables from the control panel, there is like a single button on the connector to release it.
I didn't drop the nuts down in the door, my socket caught on the door and, pop, there goes another 10 mm socket lost to the abyss.
For the 10mm socket and ratchet - should it be the 1/4” or 3/8” or 1/2”?
You need an actual 10 mm socket. You can try any of the American size sockets but they might not work.
Where can I get the parts?
Where Can in buy the new part?? Do you have a link that can share to us??
I just found one on eBay
Mine was on Amazon
I got mine from the dealership. May have spent a few extra dollars, but I got the right one.

it might be something in the way. you probably need to take the door apart again an see what is rubbing or if the switch isn't making good contact
