I'm thinking of going to local charity storesand gettin the suitcases that have handles and wheels and a duffel bag.. loading the case with the foods and a to go kitchen in the bag and bungee cord it to the top of case.. just stand them by the door or in a coat closet and can grab and go. maybe second one for first-aid and clothing..etc
I think it would be important to add flashlight, lighter and candles. Love the suitcase idea as well. I will be traveling to another country that I’ve not been to and I’ve watched 50 videos and I think I’ll shrivel up like a prune if I have to eat their food. So I am planning some of these meals to pack for the trip. It’s a very long flight 33 hours and I’m quite nervous about everything. I also don’t know the language.
Thanks for this video. I'm looking for ideas like this to help some folks in a homeless camp without a means to cook. Everything needs to be shelf stable. This will help build on some ideas that I have.
Good ideas, I especially like the scalloped potatoes and biscuits with gravy. I want my grandkids to practice cooking on the campfire with me and they’ll like those. I have pot pie as a dry meal in a jar; I dehydrate frozen mixed vegetables for it. I don’t care for mushy veggies either
I have a bunch of canned food and I don't even know what I really have. I'm thinking it's time for an inventory of my pantry is in order. Maybe I should organize it too. LoL
Hello! Kim 🤗💕👍, Thanks for more great ideas. One of my son's favorite quick meals is the sausage gravy with biscuits. Anyways, you got me thinking... I have a couple of big boxes of Bisquick mix that I put aside with other larger Prep items, and I believe it would make much more sense to divide some of it up into small packets and put with MRE'/Quick Meals since I don't have any individual packs. Also, dividing up other larger quantities of dry ingredients like powdered milk, sugar, tea, coffee and seasonings into smaller packets would be very helpful for people who buy in bulk instead of individual packs. Thanks again and God Bless...
Just found this channel. Wonderful ideas! I love that you’re adding fruit and veggies to make a well rounded meal. We have the same well pump! I’ve been buying more bottled water just in case.
Great ideas, Kim! I had forgotten about the Knorr fried rice mix. I’ll pick some up on my next grocery store visit, as well as more biscuit mixes. Thanks!!
Carnation has a protein drink that has flavors, couple with a high protein bar and some nuts, coconut and raisins in a vac sealed bag would make a super fast breakfast to satisfy kiddos. Even adults are giving these drinks a high rating. Just thinking about some meals that are fast without having to have cooking utensils and a wait time when you’re hungry and want instant satisfaction. Crackers with peanut butter or cheese, vac sealed nuts, dried fruits and bottled protein drinks could be another quickie that does not require prepping. Tuna packets, a roll of crackers, plastic fork, small travel wipes packet and bottle of vita water and wrapped roll of cookies give calories and a instant meal. Jerky strips, dried fruit, vitamin water, bag of popcorn (belly filler) , is a snack bag if you can’t cook and need something to eat in between meals.
@@LifePrepared I enjoy that your encouraging people to have packed items ready to grab and go……I am trying to persuade family members of doing so. That’s why I try to think fast, easy and no cooking preps also. Also less items to have to discard like cans if when possible……that’s why I say have some small trash bags……after seeing an area where the homeless lived it was awful….trash everywhere, food plates and pans, food scraps, bathroom waste, etc…etc….food containers from food banks and styrofoam blowing around, water bottles….shame on them. Homeless doesn’t give you the right to be filthy….careless and disrespectful to the environment.
Love the ideas for these meals. Our pump was cutting off and on and it finally went out and it was the compassitor. Spent $9 at the hardware store. Hope you can get if figured out soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
You have some great ideas here Kim. A hood "system" for a quick grab and go Or for a planned camping trip. I liked the pot pie meal the best. I don't care for canned peas either, lol. That story goes back to my kindergarten days.
Get prepared because just through a power outage damages for4-5 days losted freezer foods and just yesterday someone ran into our gas plant so we are without has now going 2nd day. But right in the middle it pour down rain so no backup fire too cook but I had a hot pot of my sons. But I will be finding and electric skillet for sure. I've been putting together a few meals for the crock pot meals. Like dollar General chicken rice meals with cream of chicken soup and a bottle of water or a can of chicken meat. They finally had the small can. Cause its just me but that will give me 3 meals and yes I eat one meal and put the 2 meals in a thermos too keep it hot and from spoiling . But I have a 2nd one for hot tea or coffee. 1tall skinny and 2 fat short one for meals. Or a can of beef in gravey in 1 and the 2nd one with mashed potatoes they will make 3 meals. And 3rd option 1 can tuna in oil ramen noodles,1 bottle water, because with ramen just hear the water pour over the ramen noodles and season pack in air tight container or I save all zipper candy bags for the meal and yes I add the oil in the can too And add salt, onion, garlic powders too taste. And yes I always carry a mini Tupperware salt shaker in my car. Good for cleaning all cuts and stop bleeding.
I picked up a Pecron E600lp from Amazon prime and a couple solar panels. I also have a stove I use for hiking that I can heat food. I have a lot of freeze dried food so only have to add water in an emergency. I love the idea of the thermos. I do have one but didn't think about it before. Thanks.
Great ideas. I buy the 5 lb bags of mixed veggies at the business Costco near me and they dehydrate and rehydrate normal. I would use those in your pot pie recipe. I don’t like mushy veggies so this is what I stock in my prepping pantry.
Walmart has some of that canned sausage gravy it's not terrible my kids like it. Also in a pinch the Biscuit mix can be made like a English muffin. I had no idea they made teriyaki spam but I am on the hunt for it now
@@LifePrepared since moving the one closest to me is now super small compared to the one that I used to go to. That pasta in my area is now just as expensive but I used to be able to find it for 20cents for almost half a pound
Thank You!!!! We found the libby's country sausage gravy at walmart for $1.68.... did a taste test of a few kinds and this was the only one that was good I make a food storage fried rice with chopped up water chestnuts and 5 oz. canned ham...... like your idea with adding the pineapple......
I like that sausage and gravy. I love Mandarin oranges. The generic Spam at our Dollar Tree has gone to half the size of the normal one. I've never seen a teriyaki span before. Again that's some really good meal kits you've managed to make up.
Save last school year's kiddo's backpack for children's and senior citizens' grab and go bags as they're lighter than the adult sized and might be easier for some to sling over a shoulder rather than carry by hand.
@alsepicfamilylife If you are still looking for the Teriyaki Spam I just saw it at Costco yesterday…I’m in Seattle area. Never heard of it till I saw it yesterday and then I came across your comment. Going back to Costco today so I’ll pick some up and give it a try.
Hey Kim I have a question. I’ve been sick with a terrible stomach virus n I mean bad. So I haven’t been able to can my chicken n pork butt. Both are cooked n in the refrigerator. It’s been a day or so over a week. Someone told me I had to throw it out but that’s a lot of waste. At the time I cooked them I didn’t know I’d get this virus n it’s the kind you, poop,in your pants n not realize it at first so canning hasn’t been possible. Is these still good. They smell fine. I don’t want to throw it away. If you say it’s not safe I will throw it away but if you say it’s ok I’m going to can it. Also any suggestions on getting my strength back fast lol
Honestly throw them in the freezer now and when you get better, check them again. If cooked and then pressure canned, it will kill bacteria but if it is bad, the flavor will be not good. Get in lots of water, Pedialyte if you have it. There are also Pedialyte recipes online. If you think it is viral, I use honey mixed with garlic, ginger and onion. All of them are antiviral. I prefer fresh but in a pinch, dried works. I mix about equal parts and take a teaspoon every few hours.
@@LifePrepared thank you. I knew you tell me what was right. I have fresh garlic n ginger n onions plus honey so I’m making some now. Thank you. You are my hero.

Thank you for reminding me too make up my biscuit mixes and bag them for the pantry.
I've used biscuit mix all the time.

Great video and good ideas. Do not forget the ketchup and hot sauce packets you can pick them up at most convince stores or gas stations.
Oh I can't forget the ketchup, thanks!

Small backpacks can also be used for each family member to carry some food and water in case they get seperated
I like the precooked rice from family dollar. Less cooking time. Less water required
Great to know. Thank you
I wonder if you made the biscuit really flat of you could pan fry them?
I bet you could!
I agree that you could do that and I like that idea!!!

I didn't find it a little while ago. It works great in fried rice.
You could use the spam for the ham dish too.
Yes!
Dollar tree has the gravy too 3:08
Great to know. Thank you
Thank you! Take care.
I like to have cinnamon applesauce in the individual 1/2 cups with biscuit meals. Warm applesauce is yummy on a warm biscuit.]
Oh yes! I love cinnamon applesauce.
11 months late but just an thought, You could use the liquid in the mandarian oranges to make the bisquick and save that bottled water to drink.
That would add flavor too. Great idea!
How do you store a can opener in each bag?
I store in the tote that holds the food but there are small ones called P38 or P52 used in military meals.
