As a South Asian who knows nothing of Scots but Robert Burns this seems how Robert himself would recite and sing his poems.

Great song, and great performance! I've heard an alternate chorus before:
Green grow the rashes, O, green grow the rashes, O!
The lasses all have cozy bores, but the widows all have gashes, O!

i’m in USA so i’m a little ignorant, but how much is Scots used in Scotland today? I think it’s awesome! love the song btw 👍🏻👍🏻

Scots has changed over the years and become more anglified. It's still common but a more diluted version. There has been a bit of a resurgence of Scots gaelic in recent years which is nice.

@@mick9708 thanks for the reply, that’s intereting and i think regional languages are really cool and awesome, so personally i hope that Scots never dies out 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

Fun fact: Historians used to think that this song was the origin of the world "Gringo" but actually the world Gringo comes from Griego (Greek) and it was used to name people who speak a Bad Spanish or the Irishmen who lived in Madrid by the XVIII century

Wow, and here all along I thought it was from the Mexican-American war, when the Mexican soldiers shouted "Green, Go!". Griego doesn't naturally turn into 'green-go' but what do I know.

I know it's not really your style, but would you ever consider covering "Dark Lochnagar"? There's a great version by Calum Kennedy out there.
