Nice garden, nice fruits. I learn lots from you. Its a good thing you removed so much of the plastic in your garden, it no longer looks like a junk yard
I leave in the USVI STTHOMAS and a lot of the Mango trees have none of some came late I pray that it's not a sign of a bad hurricane season ty for the tour ❤❤ it
Just saw a video on succession planting for cucumbers for greater yields in the year. Paul fearlessly does succession planting of entire trees across multiple years to maximize yields.
So, with all this fruit in your yard, do you sell or freeze them? If you freeze them, can you make a video about the effects of freezing? Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. It really makes me wish we would have retired in Florida.
Mango fest 2024 was excellent as a mango fan. The rain didn’t bother us at all, in fact it helped keep the the temperature cooler. Also I was in your tasting group, you did great as the MC, sweat tart was indeed everyone’s favorite, I have the top 3 if you want it. Trees are looking great thanks for the video!
@@FruitfulTreesThis is from our notes, 1. Sweat tart 2. Cac 3. Kesar 4. Dot 5. White piri. We also tasted Pickering, Angie and Maha Chanook. Some of these did not live up to their reputation because I think they were cut the night before and put in zip locks, and refrigerated, which of course is necessary to serve that many people. Many became a little mushy and lost some of their amazing taste. For example, I know Angie and Pickering are excellent, but they were definitely not at their best that day. Either way it was so awesome to taste all of those mangos. No complaints from me. Your best advice was to not add or remove any mangos from our favorite list because of one tasting, very true!!!
Paul, I remember you mentioning in other videos that this year is not a great year for mangoes in general. What precautions did you take to make sure your backyard had awesome production? Please share your tips and things to take care for newbies like me. Thank you
This year seems to have been a bad year from everyone except east palm beach county. The closer you are to the water I think the better chance you will have. I will share as many tips as I can in future videos but my heart is to teach everyone what I've been learning so we can all grow well together
I have mango trees but I doubt they’ll survive here in Zone 9 I have a plan to heat the entire backyard during the winter, and I believe it will work. I can’t wait until I get it all done.
I am 89 yrs old and soon to be 90. Mangoes are my favorite fruit. I have been eating them since 1940’s. I live in San Antonio, Texas. I have been growing mango plants from seeds. One of my plants is 7 feet tall and 5 years old. Another I have been pruning and is 3 feet tall and bushy. I have been moving all 10 trees that i have grown to a protected area in winters and to a cooler area of my yard in summer, making sure for sunlight. Never witnessed any fruit flowers therefore no fruit. I didn’t expect any as there is no pollination. I grew up in India til 21 yrs old. In 1957 I came to USA to do my Masters program at NYU. In those days nobody knew what a mango was. I will travel miles looking to buy a mango. Ever since I have an affinity to grow mangoes. I wanted to move to Florida but it never happened. My daughter lives in Ft Lauderdale and grows couple of mango trees in her backyard. IS THERE ANYWAY TO POLLINATE MY TREES IN TEXAS? Any Miracle? Would love a response.
Have you ever thought about dechlorinating your water. I have a large 50 gallon barrel/ 220 L and try to keep it full. I water by hand. Which allows me to customize my water soluble fertilizer regiment per plant, easily. I know the water in my house is dirty and we have "boil bans" often. If you leave a cup of water on the sink and you wake up in the morning there is a chlorine ring in the cup.
You'll have to wait 5 to 10 yrs before a "seedling"gives you fruit. A suggestion is to either buy at least one grafted tree from a reputable nursery and/or watch some grafting videos. Truly Tropical has excellent RUclips grafting videos.
‘I don’t want snacks’ yet you have how many new finger lime trees? Those were a big novelty fad in Southern California that died out about 5 years ago. Hard to think of a practical use for them.
I don't ship the seeds but if someone was local i'd say come and get them. Is there a local nursery near you that sells fruit trees? If yes it's always safter to get a grafted tree
If you had the space for 5 mango trees and wanted to have the widest variety and fruits throughout the season. What varieties would you recommend?? In the tampa bay area for reference.
I have two mango trees in my moms house that I care for now, I’m looking for someone to Air Layer them so we can have them to move to are future new home. One of the trees gives us huge mangos 4 to 5 pounds the tree is huge. I live by the coast in the Tampa area do you know of anyone I can call?
Hi brother We are group of 15 retired senior citizens , Mango trees entusiasts But we have no idea ,what to use to fertilize young Mango tree. Please HELP 🙏🙏🙏
Once they are in the ground they really do not need much fertilizer here in South Florida but if you want to check with Alex at Tropical Acres Farms and see what he suggest
My watermelon is growing out of control. Do you cut the offshoots or remove some of the fruit or just let it run wild? It’s my first time growing watermelon. I hear if you let it run wild the fruit become very small.
I grew 40 acres of watermelon for decades in Florida, never cut a vine, never pruned the fruit off-- please don't do that. I consistently had 25 to 33 lb fruit. Bring in the pollinators with lots of wildflowers and stay out of the vines when they're wet.
Wait, I didn’t hear what you said did you say you put food scraps around your banana trees? are you saying you don’t have to compost your kitchen scraps first🤷♀️
Very beautiful fruit trees and every tree got fruit on them and it’s high density and every tree is doing good
Thanks!
I am 62, & am just learning about plants... have some 2nd year green onions, & other things grown from seed. & they keep growing...

Great job on your assortments of fruit trees Paul. 💯

Yes I freeze them. See the video I did with Gary Zill a few days ago we spoke abut freezing mangos

you could grow them in pots and bring them in when it gets cold.
I’d love to see what you do. I’m on the edge of 9b and 10a. It’s just a matter of time before a hard freeze comes through.
@@CW-jc4zbHow has Lemon Zest worked out for you if you tried it at all?

I don't know how the trees will do in Texas
Great variety 👍

I’m starting mangos from seed I hope they eventually pop fruits

Awesome!!!!
The mango with no water will do well. Maybe just some support species around the base and/or some mulch.
‘I don’t want snacks’ yet you have how many new finger lime trees? Those were a big novelty fad in Southern California that died out about 5 years ago. Hard to think of a practical use for them.
Citrus doesn't grow here well but the finger limes will and I want some lemons so I will try them instead
Please make a video of your top producing mango trees.
I did a few weeks ago and I will again at the end of the season.
what kind of fertilizer npk u use and what kind of soil mix u use? thanks
I don't use either
What are other late season 🥭 you'd recommend, other than Honey kiss?
Looking to add mid-August variety, productivity is my #1
m-4, little gem, cotton candy
Question: Paul, have you given thought to freeze drying your fruit?I would be interested in any information you gain.
Luke 12:16-21
My friend chris does that and it is good to preserve but I don't think it is healthy to dry fruit. Freeze drying is sure better than dehydrating
What is the variety of persimmon called? I bought a fuyu but I’m not sure if that will fruit in 10b
it won't do well in 10B, what I got does well here. I have 2 kind, south florida is one and the other is Thiumpt
Does sweetart have good shipping/shelf life traits. The production is impression, could be a good commercial variety if you could ship it.
I don't remember if it did or didn't but I'll know soon with all I got and I'll talk about it .
How do you stop the pecky squrrels wasting and damaging the mangoes
Thankfully I don't have any here
Do yourself a squirrelinator!!! I did and no more squirrels on my property and safe fruits!!! 😁
Will you sell a few cheena seeds? Would love you chance it in Orange City.

Good question. I'll be heading to Tampa this month to interview some people so I will ask them that question if I remember
@FruitfulTrees that's awesome! Excited to see some tours from this area. My wife and I are starting to plan out our little grocery yard.
Paul, how close do you plant your mango trees?
too close but the best distance I think would be 16 feet
@@FruitfulTrees thank you, Paul!
