    THANK YOU FOR THE FULL GARDEN TOUR! Everyone needs to see it. Your wife is exactly like my husband of 43 years when I am taking him around the yard to see my garden. He does not match my energy, but he gets excited when the food is harvested and ready to consume...I have caught him taking pics and videos to show his friends. He will be out there narrating video...LOL!!! I have those same grapes with the old worn-out sign just like you. You may want to stake those grapes up soon, or they will be food for a random rabbit. LOL!

    Great Garden tour 👍 I’m from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and it’s interesting to watch different garden channels around the World 🌍 with what people are growing. It’s interesting you had problems with Fig. as over here in Melbourne Fig and Citrus is the easiest things to grow. But we probably have problems with things that are easy for you to grow over there. Miracle Fruit is one I have problems with in my climate but other parts of Australia no problem with growing it like in Queensland. I enjoyed Fruitful Trees Channel over there in the United States 🇺🇸 and a Channel over here in Melbourne 🇦🇺 Real Life Fruitopia which is a great channel for growing tropical and subtropical trees in my Climate. Thanks for sharing your Garden with your Tour. 👍

      Hello 👋🏾 my friend and thank you so much for watching and commenting! Figs can be really finicky here in my climate zone but I have a plan that I’m hoping alleviates that problem this upcoming winter 🥶. We’ll see if it works…fingers crossed 🤞🏾. Thanks again and stay blessed!

    What an awesome tour great looking trees. So now I have a question. what can I do for the yellowing leaves on my lime?

    • @SowGoodGardener
      @SowGoodGardener  Месяц назад +2

      Check and see if it’s root bound first. If so, trim the roots back about 30% and then up pot it. If that’s not it, make sure that your soil is well draining because it could be getting over watered. Lastly, it could just need some super juice and 5-1-1 fish emulsion.

    You need to prune your apple trees, train the branches to less than 60° and thin the fruit. Prune for a main leader and side branches as I mentioned above and that should increase your production.

    • @SowGoodGardener
      @SowGoodGardener  Месяц назад +2

      I’m looking for more privacy from my trees along my fence line. I’m just talking trash out there about my trees but I’ll never get rid of them. I may take out the main leader this Fall but that’ll probably be it.

  • @ecocentrichomestead6783
    @ecocentrichomestead6783 Месяц назад +1

    WRT the fig tree, we call it "winter kill". Sometimes a plant can be rated to grow in your hardiness zone but, with winter wind chill or salty air, any unprotected areas dies back in winter.
    One option would be to put protection around it for winter.

    • @SowGoodGardener
      @SowGoodGardener  Месяц назад +1

      I plan on doing just that with the greenhouse I purchased. It’s a pop-up one but I think it’ll be fine for the winter’s we have here in Texas. We’ll see next year 😂.

    “Whatever cides. Don’t be puttin’ no cides on it.” Hahaha. Awesome. Amazing selection of plants. I like how you talk about the water catch on the bottom of the container. It would be good to use water the plants with that water, because like you said, it is/is like a compost tea. I might grow grapes in containers. Planted some in ground, but I think the drought/droughts that we had, and me not watering enough, led to them dying. Also, one or more got trampled I think. You’ve got a great personality and seem to be very knowledgeable. I think your channel will grow well. Full watch. Be well. - Colin

      Colin, I REALLY appreciate this comment! More than you could imagine. Definitely give grapes 🍇 in containers a try because I’m proving that it works. Don’t forget to put a 2” layer of pea gravel in the bottom of the container to stop the roots from growing into the ground and for better drainage. All I’m going to do in the Fall is trim them way back because they fruit on the new growth anyways. I’ll be by your channel to check out what you’re growing ASAP. Thanks again and stay blessed fam!

    indeed about the fig trees! I did the chicago hearty fig because im a suburban gardener in illinois. my fig tree did the exact same thing. this year i did purchase another one. nut i will grow it in a container and overwinter it inside this year. If this doesn't work i will no longer grow them. Just found your channel and i enjoy the knowledge you bring. happy gardening.

      Fig trees are so frustrating, yet delicious 😋 at the same time 😂. If the greenhouse doesn’t work, I’m done growing them. I’ve had them in containers before and they died back only to grow back from the bottom as well. I never brought them inside for the winter though. Thank you so much for watching and stay blessed!

    So , that fig tree.... it needs higher temperature than the lowest it gets there. meaning. covering it up , sure delays loss of heat, but eventually after a while, the heat will still be lost and then even inside, temperature will drop same as what's outside. Sure covering it prevents from cold wind chill, but with your fig your issue is not cold wind, but cold temperature.
    how to get Heat there is the question. Heat will raise temperature.
    option 1. a little bit of Heat is there in earth naturally , so you can dig a trench and bend the fig branches and burry them side way witha bit of force! its doable and then ur branches will keep some heat and wont die back.
    option 2. green house llike u said, but remember, if it is too cold and cloudy a few days, the greenhouse may eventually loose heat over night, and temperature will drop ! if it does ur figs are dead! so gotta somehow warm it up, especially when its the coldest night!
