    Hi Adam, I noticed that you had installed a catch can on your Jeep. I heard pros and cons about it. What are your thoughts about it? And which one in specific will fit in a Jk CRD?
    Cheers.

      Thanks for the q - def recommend. Big pro is you are preventing oil fumes getting blown back through your intake. Particularly as the engine ages this becomes more of an issue. Do a quick Google on blocked intake - there's some horror stories! They are simple to use, just has a drain tap where to fumes return to oil that drain once per oil change (check out the video on the channel on this if you haven't already :)) Only con would be cost, and the fact a lot of the cheaper flashy alloy ones are junk, go for one with a proper filter material not just a steel wool type. I run a Provent 200 and would recommend it. Hope that was helpful 😬😁

    Great fuel economy and okay idle 2 months ago, some after monsoon season really bad idle, 7 mpg and declining. Im getting SO many points it could be wrong. I changed my O2, Spark Plugs, New Fuel Pump (leaking), Fuel injector cleaner and now im moving on to sensors !
    Autozone told me it sounds like the catalytic convertor :( It could also be the CPS and those are the two things i hope not
    it stutters when driving, feels like it wont shift unless i let off the gas, oil gauge going insane, smells like oil, oil levels fine, no check engine light

      I'd recommend proper sensor cleaner, if the chemical is too harsh it could damage the sensor 👍

    I'm getting P1296 after I replaced the IAC & TPS. Cleaned the throttle body, changed the spark plugs and replaced a broken vacuum boot. Stalls at low speed, stops and deceleration. If I replace the MAP and still stalls, what's next??

      My '06 KJ also shuddering and stalling when decelerating through 15 mph as I pull up to red light or if slowing to take a corner. Waiting for shop to open on Monday, will ask them to clean MAP and replace air filter.

    • @androidchannel309
      @androidchannel309 3 года назад +1

      @@ibberman Funny you should ask! I ended up buying a new MAP sensor from IDParts as well as a fuel filter. Had a local shop that specializes in Toyotas and Hondas put them in and the stalling stopped. Then, three hours later, Jeep wouldn't shift into third gear. Got a quote from a local transmission shop to overhaul my transmission ($5,013) and then when I got home, checked the transmission fluid (ATF) level and saw it was two quarts low! Added two quarts of ATF and it shifts like a champ now!

    If you're only cleaning the Mas Air Pressure sensor, you're only doing half the job. The reason the MAP sensor gets carbony is because the Exhaust gas re circulation pipe is near the rear of the intake. It lets in exhaust gasses to warm the engine. You really need to clean the intake pipes and close the egr valve via ecu. It virtually does noting in Australia because it's too warm to do anything other than waste fuel and clog your intake pipes reducing fuel economy. They were a stupid idea for the Australian market because unless it's -10 or colder and you are running the same diesel as Europe which we aren't it had zero benefit in warming the engine. Also, just to correct your video, The MAP sensor measures the air pressure not vacuum going into the engine. The ecu reads the map senor so it knows how much boost the engine is getting to vary the fuel into the injectors.
