I commented earlier today that I procrastinate too much. Well, I actually got up and went to my shed and made three of the first project on this video. Took about an hour. Not quite finished yet but close. You're inspiring me Matthew Peech. Thanks.
I love these types of videos!! I’m a grandma ,,, and a crafter , looking to get into basic wood working … I’m not smart enough to do all the amazing work you do !! Keep it up for us novice wood workers !! Thank you
Candy corn melted down and mixed with peanut butter makes butter finger knock off and that’s how I can tolerate candy corns. My wife made it yesterday. It blew me away. I love butterfingers too.
Just a quick FYI, if you have a vinyl cutter, you can also cut your stencils with it. Just be sure to use something like vinyl ease transfer take so it doesnt remove you paint underneath. Just a tip for those with the machines that dont want to buy a stencil.
I just inherited a box full of 4 x 4 cut offs from my cousin's house remodeling project. Those will work good for the Owls. Thank you for the inspiration.
You could make tiny owls with a 2x2 as well. And the candy corns you could possibly paint the whole board before cutting them out if you were going to make tons. Thanks for sharing!
Candy corn is what owls love to snack on! One of my granddaughters loves owls, too. Her nickname is "Hoot." I love it. I have never sold anything but built a lot to give away. Grandpa makes wood objects that the family wants/uses a lot. As always, Matt, great job!
Candy corn. How cool. I have my 8 year old granddaughter here and we made candy corn today. A😢a few other things. Can't wait for wood working Wednesday, I will post photos.
Candy corn is the most iconic candy and just screams fall and Halloween. Personally I think black licorice is the worst candy flavor ever. And as usual, always such great ideas. Thanks, Matt. 🍂🍁
Candy corn!! Hey Matthew! How’s the hunting season! Sent you some rain from SC!😂 Since watching your videos I have found myself walking around lumber yards trying to figure out what I can use to make something unique. Landscape timbers are an excellent idea! Since fence pickets was my go to wood (since watching your channel) I have experimented with various different woods and other cheaper wood things to up my game. Believe it or not you inspired me to try out the pumpkins with the landscape timbers. This along other projects I’m doing is going to help me raise money to go see my mom in KY in November. She took ill and is currently in a rehab facility up that way it being disabled and on limited income I have been working on trying to make money to come see her. Thank you Matthew for what you do as these videos help me make me make my goals and I’m sure that others benefit from your ideas too!!
Candy Corn... I actually love candy corn. Anyway, I actually made candy corn for a craft show I am doing today! Instead of taping off the colors I overlapped them, if you look at real candy corn the colors aren't perfectly separated. Love the videos, they keep me inspired!
Brother I love your videos!! You make really have great ideas and you have done your research and that’s half the battle. The easy part is actually constructing the products. Thank you very much and keep em coming!!
Candy corn. Gross as it is, it doesn't have anything on licorice. Another great smalls video. I made one of those owls last year and nobody was even interested. Just depends on the customer and area I guess. What sells great for me are wall decor state cut outs. Going to make one the planter boxes you did in a previous video for an upcoming craft fair in November to try and take orders for Spring. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for the videos Matt. Helpful ideas and encouraging instruction. You're the man.
Thats why I never made any of this stuff, I would never buy it in my life, if I was rich as Bill gates I still wouldn't, guess thats why its hard to make money sometimes. So many people just want dumb things. I was selling hand turned wooden bowls for 25-35 at a consignment shop, and some guy was taking half rotten wood, using a belt sander to make it heart shape, leaving it no better then 150 grit finish and hot gluing magnets to the back and selling for 20 a pc. I couldn't sell 4-5 bowls a month, he was selling dozens of those shitty magnets, I don't get it
@@BlockchainToTheFace never said it was about me, just added a comment about something I encountered in agreement with the person I was replying to, that its hard to make things I wouldn't want to buy
I've sold quite a few sets of three of those owls over the last few years at $50 per set. I even made a couple of simple jigs to do the eyes and nose. The only thing I add are black obsidian beads glued in for the pupils. The best part is that all the 4x4's came from an old pole barn that used to be on my property.
I have an event coming up in a little over a month & in looking over all my stock for further preparations, I realized I really need a bit more fall items. I have a 4x4 & a lot of salvaged fence pickets I was going to work with this weekend. Unfortunately, Helene has other ideas, no water or power for 3 days put those ideas on hold. We were lucky, though, since there are so many who were really hit hard. I hope y'all were safe.
I definitely like the sticks in the landscaping timber pumpkins. You might try drilling those stems in at a slight angle to seem even more rustic. I love your channel!

Candy corn - Necco wafers, yuch, Black Jack gum. Should I go on? Skittles, licorice, sour straws, anything pumpkin spice ... I could continue, but I'm just grossing myself out. The good stuff, most anything with chocolate in it.
Candy Corn -- Another set of great projects~! BUT, I've been a candy corn fiend since I was a kid~! One of my favorites and just picked up our first bags today for the candy dishes. 😛
Candy Corn and Circus Peanuts are absolute classics and are delicious compared to those generic Halloween candies that look like peanut butter taffy and are wrapped in black and orange waxed paper.
Thanks, these are good projects. I like how rustic they look. All this stuff at Hobby Lobby is made in China, so maybe people would appreciate buying some locally made products for the same price.
Candy Corn. Worse or equally as bad are Peeps, and those orange peanut looking things (thangs). As far as continuing the series, I think it's a winner.
My co-worker was drilling with a Forstner bit like that and the drill jumped and he mangled his thumb really badly. So I don't do that anymore. I'd recommend a drill press. Love all your videos!
I made a bunch of the owls, and then painted glow in the dark eyes..so cool !
@@MsAnduk i honestly don't see an owl with those things, its just a chunk of wood, there's no beak!
