Really good all round bike , good power , handling , brakes are excellent , plus it's really comfortable I could ride it for several hours, I use the standard seat , this bike can do it all

Test rode one today. It was an awesome ride. Lots of power from the engine and the motorcycle felt really nimble and was very easy to ride. If the motorcycle would have been as comfortable as the R1200GS Adventure I ordered I would have regretted the decision to get the GSA instead of the R1200R. The seat wasn't very soft, though I think it was the low seat certainly I slightly higher seat would have made the everything better for me. Do keep in mind I'm only 5'8". I'm still considering getting the R1200R as a second motorcycle, though the first time I saw a review of the S1000R I wanted one and after 4 test rides I still do.

Traded my S1000R in on this bike, I have no regrets. I love it to death. :)

Are you sure it was the low seat? I sat on 2 and the low seat felt super similar to the GSA. VERY comfortable. the higher seat was not even close. I'm sort of a horsepower guy so I like the idea of the S1000R, but the comfort of the R1200R has me reconsidering. it feels like a smaller, sporty GS. If they got 25 more HP out of this thing it would be perfect.

Hi, Nice Video 👌👌👌. I have purchased a 2016 pre-owned BMW r1200r. Just wanted to know if there is clunky sound while shifting the gears. Is it common in this models or not.
    Looking forward for your reply.

I am so sick of people that I ride with asking me how reliable my our 1200 R is. I gave the same response in saying I don’t know because I’ve never had to make a repair on it. Even the Japanese guys jaws drop. But nonetheless 30,000 miles without touching a wrench, what else is needed to be said

key highlights to me... Boxer spirit and no pocket rummaging for a gas fill up/start up.

The seat to peg angle doesn't look too good for taller riders despite what the commentary claimed - was he reading from the sales brochure? I have the previous model - the oil head from 2012. I had to get the high seat which is only just high enough (I'm not a giant but I have a 34.5 inch inseam). Apart from this issue I think the bike is near perfect. I have a touring screen from Madstad Engineering in Florida which is excellent and BMW's own fabric top box to carry my bits and pieces. I also have some cylinder head protectors from Machine Art. Did ride one of the 2015 models for a week when my bike was being serviced and the dealer had to wait for a part to come from Germany. It's very slick, more of a crotch rocket than my bike (although not much faster in absolute terms, but it gets there more easily). However, being an older rider who goes long distances - rather than an around-town show-off - I don't feel the need to upgrade.

nope - I hate digital speedos ...to each is own

The analogue speedo is hard to read and should have been the rev counter and speed indicated digitally

The knee angle is a bit too small for long cruising
