Ahh the rickety old 'Bush Beast', always looked like it was ready to fall apart. ..Bloody loved Australia's Wonderland Sydney !! #BringBackAustraliasWonderland
I remember riding this thing some time back in 89. Or around then. We'd been everywhere else in the theme park and left this ride for last for some reason. Anyway, when it came to riding this, it was just starting to rain and almost time for the park to close (about 4pm, I think). I can still remember how intensely the rain would sting every time a raindrop would barrel into our faces as we were screaming through the ride and the downpour... Some really great memories from a really great decade, a great theme park and a great ride.
It was stronger than it looked. They had trouble demolishing it. I have the best memories of that roller coaster and park. Was heartbroken to see it go. Bought out by a greedy company looking to profit at the 11th hour from the land sale.
You're so right though!! It felt way more sketchy than the Demon and other faster rides, because it honestly felt like it was falling apart and you were barely strapped into the cart! hhaha
Our kids loved Australia’s wonderland we took them there twice and old Sydney town twice as well there all late 30’s and 40’s now and still have great memories of these places 😊
I remember being a little girl and riding this, thinking I was going to die. Them were the days. I only lived about 20 minutes from Wonderland, such a shame.
I know what you mean. I rode it while it was raining. I would have been about 12 years old, I think. Was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. It's such a shame how quickly the novelty wears off of life, isn't it?
I nearly DID die... I rode it once and got off afterwards with super bad whiplash and an almost broken nose o.0 I really wasn't expecting it to be THAT JERKY!
omg i went on that thing 1000s of times. i knew every bump and squeek. used to love the sound of that chain at the start and 1:00 is the part where u stand up lol
Why is this footage only being uploaded now? I remember going this ride as a kid. It was probably my first big roller coaster. It is sad that it is gone now. :(
@gam3overmd Not correct, it was torn down and scrapped. There is an exact copy at Canada's Wonderland that pre-dates the Bush Beast by a couple of years
people stopped going when the prices went up heaps. if they kept it cheap they wouldnt of needed new rides cause id still be there living on the bush beast hehe and buying there wonder burgers :p
This is the only surviving onride footage of the Bush Beast? Damn... Ah well, at least it got cloned a couple times... Now the DEMON on the other hand, that was a coaster!
This is actually the Beastie, not the Bush Beast. The proper Beast has a much steeper and longer first descent. The actual Beast is in another video you've uploaded - ruclips.net/video/k4LKO4amXNQ/видео.html

At the very least, Grizzly at Kings Dominion and Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland guarantee this ride lives on.
And Ghoster Coaster at Canada’s Wonderland for the Beastie
That was the frist roller coaster I been on brings back memories

This was the first and last rollercoaster ride I ever went on.I nearly fell out of the bloody thing.
Roller coasters have much better restraints than the buzz bars this used. However buzz bars are amazing for coaster enthusiasts.
this me n my sisters fave ride's we ever went one, when our Grandpa use to take us to Wonderland
LOL Before the M7 Highway existed. Long time ago, used to go there when I was really young. Miss that place!
So many good memories
so, you're telling me there's The Beast, Son of Beast, Beastie, and now bush beast the complete family
And Wilde Beast at Canadas Wonderland.
Anyone remember when Triple M had that Whirl Till You Hurl competition on this thing?
omg i went on that thing 1000s of times.
i knew every bump and squeek.
used to love the sound of that chain at the start and 1:00 is the part where u stand up lol
memories, love it, thanks for the upload
I can't believe it's gone!!!! I loved that old rickety sound it use to make :((
The bumpy footage tricks you into thinking this was an uncomfortable ride...it was actually worse than that.
Past the big ol'spinning pirate ship disk thing, past the blacksmith, past the arcadegames THE BEAST
That old bone rattler was painful to ride but boy was it fun
Why is this footage only being uploaded now?
I remember going this ride as a kid. It was probably my first big roller coaster. It is sad that it is gone now. :(
I remember this ride. It banged up my body so bad. Very unstable and painful ride.
This video reminds us why the back seat was the best for this ride
I remember this roller coaster it shook as you went down the first hill
@gam3overmd Not correct, it was torn down and scrapped. There is an exact copy at Canada's Wonderland that pre-dates the Bush Beast by a couple of years
and the grizzly in the USA which both were based off afaik.
Bush beast had a higher drop but no tunnel after the second drop :( :(
this one was a thriller for me lol! knowing the thing was made out of wood! :O
done my neck a few times on these baby too haha!!
I loved the place as a kid & loved it as a big kid at the raves! NYE Utopia!
My guts remember those drops well.
Brutal boneshaker but loved it!!!!
HOLY SHIT THE BEAST HAS A BROTHER!!!
i was there every day of that event but was never in it.
always cheered at those guys going past tho hehe
should never have closed - it was a world class theme park ... went there in 86 when my friends move to Sydney from NZ ...
All we now have in sydney is the stupid LUNA PARK lol for kiddies.
As soon as it was sold off to sunway, everything changed. The Malaysia company didn't care. They put the prices up and didn't maintain the park much.
people stopped going when the prices went up heaps.
if they kept it cheap they wouldnt of needed new rides cause id still be there living on the bush beast hehe
and buying there wonder burgers :p
why why why did you get rid of Wonderland you fools so many memories especially new years eve Wonderland party's 😥
that ride terrified me as a kid.
and stopping at 1:27 to type this also scared me a little.
Never mind the coaster, more views of Eastern Creek!
0:52 I used to stand up as it was going downwards holding on with one hand. That was before they put CCTV up near the sign @ 0:50
What GoPro was this filmed on? 😂
Oh well at least you guys have a new Theme Park coming soon, even if it's only Wet 'n Wild...
I only got the footage yesterday
I almost fell out when I was 6
Yeah i noticed its a little different now. Missing main drop at the biginning and not to mention the right turn instead of going left at the start.
When was this shot??
Looks good but the original still looks better
this kinda looks like wild beast from canada's wonderland
YAY FOR ROLLERCOASTERS!
720p option on 360i video?
This is the only surviving onride footage of the Bush Beast? Damn... Ah well, at least it got cloned a couple times...
Now the DEMON on the other hand, that was a coaster!
Just go ride Grizzly at Kings Dominion or WildeBeast at Canada's Wonderland, they are the exact same coaster
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv cool! Gonna buy me the plane tickets in the middle of a pandemic? ;)
This is actually the Beastie, not the Bush Beast. The proper Beast has a much steeper and longer first descent. The actual Beast is in another video you've uploaded - ruclips.net/video/k4LKO4amXNQ/видео.html
