Thank you for the sharing your knowledge. My Class 26 is on the way and I am trying to learn as much as possible prior to its arrival. I have never owned a sewing machine. Is oiling the machine something I need to do when my machine first arrives or does it come oiled up? What kind of oil do you recommend? Thank you again. :)
Hey Baron, Your new machine will come oiled up and tested by the mechanics. A small bottle of oil comes with the machine as well which will last you a good amount of time. But you can use a standard quality sewing machine oil. Most people buy Zoom Spout because it is readily available. Enjoy your new machine and practice practice practice.
Thank you very much! I plan on doing a lot of practice. Right now I am very careful while hand sewing to make sure everything is straight but since it take like 2 days to sew a belt or a guitar strap I figured it is time to learn how to use a sewing machine. :) Thank you. :)@@vanplewco
Great video...was wondering if u have any ideas why a knocking noise will be coming from around the motor box?...i made sure the belt is not touching anything and troubleshooted a few more places but no luck...thanks
Hey Joseph, I got a 4 pack on Amazon. Here is the link: WarmShine 4 Pack Sewing Machine Oiler Oil Dispenser with Long Angled Spout Screw on Cap Extended Spout oil Bottle for DIY Craft, 120ml a.co/d/f15hODc
What the purpose of the oil pan and the wicking? Is it just to remove and store excess oil? I was going through an old machine and accidentally tore the big main wick. I also filled the oil pan because I thought the wick served as a oil lubricating path. Do I need to replace the wick?
Wow, these videos are so amazing. I'm so wishing I had them 2 years ago when I first got my class 26. I'm learning a great deal watching them and am grateful that you are posting them! A few questions: 1. Where did you get the nifty oil can? It looks SO much cleaner that what came with the machine. 2) Can you talk a little more about the little cleaning brush you are using to clean the bobbin area? 3. I noticed you oiled some areas in the bobbin area and other areas that don't have the paint. I haven't been doing that, but I will start. Thanks for your help! :)
1. The nifty oil squeezable bottle I got on Amazon 2. The cleaning brush is a short bristle pencil women's make up brush. It works perfect for cleaning in hard spots and the best part is that I got it from my local dollar store. 3. All the areas oiled are necessary and recommended by the Mechanics at LMC. These spots will help your machine and I am glad you gained some new info.

The wick helps spread the oil for lubrication. The oil pan is to collect excess oiling.

@@vanplewco Thank you! I went through the video several times last night and cleaned and oiled my machine like never before. :)
@@druidgarden that’s awesome! Your machine should be humming smoothly now. Have fun on your projects!

I find these videos very helpful. I think the music in the beginning is not necessary nor adding value.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you gained something from my videos.
