Thank you for the excellent tribute. What makes the music eternal is new people like you listening to it and enjoying it. There is a ton of great VH music. The smash hits that everyone reacts to (for good reason) are: Jump, Panama, Hot For Teacher, Right Now and Ain't Talking Bout Love. It would be a tragedy if you went through life and missed any of those. But so much of the VH catalogue is also genius: Unchained, Drop Dead Legs, Mean Street, Beautiful Girls, Running with the Devil, Dance the Night Away, 5150, Dreams, Best of Both Worlds, Poundcake, Cabo Wabo, Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do; Top of the World, and Finish What You Started. As a teen I probably listened to each of those songs a million times. They are all THAT good. I hope you choose to go down the rabbit hole. Thanks again.
Dude, it was a joy to watch you discover the genius of Eddie Van Halen. I saw them 3 times. If you want check out another trailblazing guitarist, check out Stevie Ray Vaughan doing Voodoo Cild. He's a blues legend. Died August 27th 1990 in a helicopter crash. Mad respect man. You made this old man smile little brother.
Texxas Jam , 5150 tour ... Eddie Van Halen sitting on the stage , playing his guitar . That was a memory I'll never forget . If there's a rock n' roll heaven ....you know they got a HELLOFA BAND !
"I know his arms must be getting tired..." Nope. Believe it or not, not really. When you find your style, when you find your groove, it just comes naturally, and you can do it for hours. When Eddie first picked up the guitar, he used to say that his brother Alex would go on a date, and hours later he would come back, and Eddie would still be on the side of the bed playing. When the bug bites, it bites hard, and for Eddie, it got him in a big bad way. Dude is a LEGEND. Maye he Rest In ROCK.
Life's short bruh. Live your best life and do what makes you happy. It looks like you're off to a good start. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and a positive attitude. You can be whatever you wanna be.
Loved your reaction and respect for EVH! He's the GOAT in my opinion. The look of pure joy on Eddie's face whenever he played is unforgettable. I still can't believe we're living in a world without Eddie. You should check out Gary Clark Jr. He's out of Austin, TX and another guitar virtuoso. More bluesy than Van Halen but who doesn't love good blues guitar work!
I've always told people that guys like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and others built the puzzle. Eddie was the final piece who completed it.
You are right about talent over skill. Difference is that some people have the talent but not the ability to recognize or use it. In fact, originally the guitar was not for him, he tried drums. Sometimes fate intervenes and the world is better for it.
Really cool. Seriously thanks bro. A young man with an open mind willing to listen to and react honestly to a genre of music that might not be in his wheel house. Thats called a good example. We need more posts like this from folks of all colors creeds and faiths...pick out something you don't listen to maybe R and B or rap or flamenco guitar or the gypsie kings... listen with an open mind like this dude. Show respect for greatness like just like this guy did. We can crush hate too...fuck cancer ...and fuck hate.
Eddie died from a stroke actually, but the underlying cause was his cancer. Tongue/mouth cancer, then later in the throat. He also had lung and cancer cells in his brain. Interestingly, if you start with throat cancer, then you die later because it moved to you lungs or brain and that kills you (or his stroke), they will always list the origination point as the underlying cause of death. I have advanced prostate cancer, but if it should migrate to my bones, which it often does in advanced cases, there is no cure. The will not put my cause of death as bone cancer, but prostate. Anyway, not sure why I wrote all of this. He will certainly be missed.
The greatest hard rock guitarist ever!! There’s only one other person in the world that plays guitar that I respect almost as much as Eddie Van Halen and that’s Jeff Beck. Rip Eddie 💜 Love you always
It's a very convenient place to put a cigarette when playing a guitar, if you smoke! Mad respect man. You made this old man smile little brother.
Absolutely loved it. I had the pleasure of seeing him live during eh "Monster's of Rock" tour. He was Amazing!!!
Love what you say about the difference between talent and gifted. You’re right. RIP Eddie
That is the guitar that is buried with Dimebag Darrell.
I thought it was the black and yellow one from the back cover of Van Halen II, but I could be mistaken
@@michaelbaldwin8484 you're right dude it was the black and yellow one
Texxas Jam , 5150 tour ... Eddie Van Halen sitting on the stage , playing his guitar . That was a memory I'll never forget . If there's a rock n' roll heaven ....you know they got a HELLOFA BAND !
HE WAS THE SHOW!! Great reaction
" that's why God put you on this Earth" best reaction ever I love you man keep it up the videos and RIP EDDIE he was the greatest! ❤🤘😎
"I know his arms must be getting tired..."
Nope.
I saw this Tour and show in 86 a few weeks after this was filmed. Just in astonishing live event.
Lost a legend last week....2020 sucks
I’m sad he’s gone, it’s tore me up good but I’m happy more people are discovering this legend.
running with the devil by van halen
Great song
Fuck Cancer, it took my momma and my husband too. RIP Eddie Van Halen. Your always a man of your word, you always come through. ✌💜🎶
I saw this tour live. Saw EVH 4 times. Every player has a guitar hero, he was mine..
I've always told people that guys like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and others built the puzzle. Eddie was the final piece who completed it.
I remember when this concert first came out on VCR, I wore this tape out. "It is now officially...5150 time!" Gonna miss you Edward!
Eddie, i sincerely apologize for not listening to you as much as i should have, i feel terrible.
Luckily for you and me, the online archives have us all covered.
Bro you should make videos on your guitar progress, id for sure watch those.. also rip Eddie man, truly an entirely different breed
Great to see a young man like yourself getting into VH !!! Have fun my man!!!😁😁😁✊🏽
Thanks for the reaction, man. I always love showing my friends VH songs. Appreciate the genuine reaction
We can crush hate too...fuck cancer ...and fuck hate.
ayy keep doing your thing Ahmad! Hope this channel blows up you a real one bro :)
Appreciate it fam 💜💯
My cigs go where Eddie put his on the head stock. I was doing that before I knew EVH did too. lol
I'm glad you liked that. I was lucky enough to have seen Van Halen 4 times and
Each time was incredible. He was ( and always be)the best ever
The Wayne Gretzky of Rock and Roll of guitar. Period.
Light up the sky.....dang Eddie and his skills....... awesome
The greatest hard rock guitarist ever!! There’s only one other person in the world that plays guitar that I respect almost as much as Eddie Van Halen and that’s Jeff Beck. Rip Eddie 💜 Love you always
RIP Eddie - Forever the best guitar Player
God can now learn to play the guitar
Fuck Cancer, it took my best friend (my grandfather), my role models and my dogs.
RiP to everyone who has suffered through cancer
It's a very convenient place to put a cigarette when playing a guitar, if you smoke! Thank you for your reaction and I say f--k cancer too, it has taken many people from me that I love and I myself have dealt with it eleven times, I'm clear right now, but who knows when it will come back to bite me in the butt again! Thanks again!
When you get your guitar, spend 1 day trying to do that. You will learn some wicked finger exercises.
Difference between talented and gifted! I agree and thank you
