Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.
New Line Cinema’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1975 bestselling novel “Salem’s Lot” releases in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on October 11. SALEM’S LOT reunites the producing teams behind the record-breaking horror franchises “The Conjuring” universe and the “It” films. Gary Dauberman writes, directs, and executive produces the film. Producers are James Wan and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster; Roy Lee for Vertigo; and Mark Wolper.
Cast: Lewis Pullman (Ben Mears), Alfre Woodard (Dr. Cody), Makenzie Leigh (Susan Norton), Bill Camp (Matthew Burke), Spencer Treat Clark (Mike Ryerson), Pilou Asbæk (Straker), and John Benjamin Hickey (Father Callahan).

God I am so happy this is coming out after the cancellation, this was something I’ve been waiting for for years. I’m so happy about it.
I remember as a kid watching the TV series Salem's Lot with David Soul - I was absolutely terrified - That kid coming back scraping his fingernails on the window asking his best friend to let him in had me hiding behind the sofa...
Yeah that was one of the creepiest things I ever saw lol. Mr Barlow messed my sleeping pattern up for years though 😆
I watched it too when I was a kid, yeah that scene always gave me the creeps.
These vamps look a bit more aggressive. Slamming the window and coffin lids 😮

@@thomascrowniii1693 obviously,yes but I feel slightly offended that we're getting it on max here in the states while the rest of the world gets to see it in theaters. Don't know about you, but I think that's a bit unfair
@thesnakeman8006 You need to keep in mind that this movie was supposed to be released in 2022 and then lost it's 2023 release date to Evil Dead Rise. My read is that Warners (A) doesn't believe in the film, (B) don't want to take any money away from their big October release, Joker 2.
So it looks like the UK will have another cinematic advantage over America this year

@@rolandwright3502 Yeah I had my hothead on yesterday, I'm still looking forward to some aspects and Respect to the dude for getting it made and out in these tough movie times. Mostly now looking forward to Mr Barlow and how he is done. Word has it it's respectively creepy.

Handled it how? Covid & various strikes weren’t their fault. At least UK/Ireland are getting a theatrical window. In the States…it’s going right to HBO/MAX. I would have liked to have seen it on the big screen.
This looks like the good old vampire horror movies from the 80's and with the producer of 'IT' going to be fun 🦇💯💪
A truly underrated classic Stephen King book. I think it is fantastic and I just hope they lean into the dread that KIng epitomises so well in the horror of the book.

Agree 1000%. It's not The Exorcist. They are not possessed by a demon. Not scary at all and doesn't belong in this vampire movie.

Given how iconic Barlow's design in the 1979 version was, I think they're holding off on showing him so it's a surprise. They didn't really give a good look at any of the vampires.

The original Tobe Hooper mkji series came in at just over 3 hours or so. They changed Barlow and Straker from the book where Barlow was originally a moustached character and his watchdog Straker was the bald one. Barlow kills Straker gor his failures.

Not wild about the utterly overdone (and utterly tired) indigo and green colour scales that's saturating most of these scenes. Also, there are tones of 'The Exorcist' in this trailer. None of that has anything to do with 'Salem's Lot. Ah, well. At least we have the book and the original series.

Oh man, it takes place in the 1970’s. I thought the movie was going to take place, like right now, in modern times, with 21ST Century technology. What modern technology do we have today that would make such a difference against vampires? I don't think a 3D printed crucifix would be much better than an original wooden one.
@@louiehoughton5553 Not the point. The point is, this version is taking place, once again, in the 1970’s. If we want to see this movie taking place in the 1970’s, we might as well just see the version that came out in 1979, with David Soul as Ben Mears. That’s what I am saying.
