The chapati wrap you created in the morning is called "Rolex", originally from Uganda. Have the chapati, then an omelette and bacon,put kachumbari and sauces, then make a roll, hence "Rolex".

The way the chapatti was cooked by rubbing fat and the way it was rolled out, we (Indians) make 'parathas' in the same way and yes they are definitely breakfast with tea. You can also have a chillie omelette wrap. Although I am nearly vegan, so have them with pickle. 💕🇬🇧

You know you have acclimatised to the Kenyan weather when you complain of cold despite being Canadians! 😂😂😂. Yes Dave, chapatis or chapos as we call them go well with tea and is a good substitute for bread in many households and hotels/restaurants. Ol Talet cottages is such a bargain especially because it can take up to 8 people. And it is all worth it for that view alone. Another gem from you guys, good job!

The green lentils are called ndengu... its swahili name, English-Green grams. Cook them add coconut and spices when you fry... very nice. Enjoy Kenyan dishes.

Chapatis are eaten any time and any way you like them😃 I actually like them for breakfast and snack instead of as a main meal. My personal faves is making an omelette and rolling it in the chapati to make a Ugandan rolex or with a smokie/sausage and kachumbari with a hot steaming cup of Kenyan tea. So yum😋

Everybody remembers their first Ndengu and chapati experience.. My fav snack as a kid was ndengu samosas!!

the eggs and Chapati is actually a common street food in the estates called a Rolex ( eggs fried with onions (more like an egg omelette) then rolled in a chapati)...it is sooooo sweet.

Don’t mind using the outside loo during the day but at night, inside it is 😄The view and THAT pool damn, so want to go there! 😍 Tracey no longer a Canadian, that is right... blending in with the Kenyan way.
