- We spend 2 days at The Ark Lodge located in Nyeri, Kenya inside the Aberdare National Park. This hotel is a true animal sanctuary and the home of so many elephants.
Located right beside a salt lick, this hotel is the perfect location to see some African Buffalos, Antilopes, Hyenas, Baboons, Birds and of course ELEPHANTS! We had never seen that many elephants in our lives before staying at The Ark Lodge.

That was at the Tree Tops Hotel but yes at the Aberdares.
Different resort but same National Park... For Queen Elizabeth it was Treetops.
This truly reignited my love for Kenya! I believe this will be my first country I visit on the continent. I HAVE to get to Africa🙂

The ark is such a hidden gem. When i went there as a kid, i will always remember how cozy the rooms were and getting up in the middle of the night to look at animals. Also, might i add that Uganda has some nice places also, such as the nile safari lodge. 😊

When it's raining, just avoid parks, animals have lots of watering points within the bush. During the dry season you'll see herds of all the animals at that main watering point.

I have been to Aberdares countless times and I can tell you that you need to go back because you only sampled very little of Aberdares. You didn't even do the water falls :( you also need to do the hike but this you will need a KWS ranger! Honestly speaking don't be scared of the Buffaloes especially when inside your truck they don't charge I have driven into a herd of them with a tiny 4x4, they just stare at you they are literally cows.. Ok wild cows. Nexttime exit Aberdares via the Naivasha route. otherwise I love your videos thanks for sharing your Kenyan experiences

aberdares are known as scotland on the equator since they attracted the settlers due to the great weather..great place to visit. they also provided the cover for our freedom fighters.

Wildlife generally enjoy the rain, especially elephants, buffaloes and rhinos. The big cats find places to stay relatively dry but they also don't mind it too much. Also the Giant Forest Hogs are really special to see. That place has so much history and is well known for their animal visitors :) Glad you are enjoying your safari!

Edit: Consider Rutundu Logs Cabin for your next trip... Prince William proposed to his wife there...You'll love it. It's super cold 🥶 for us Kenyans. So if you decide to go, pack your winter fleeces and thermal suits..😅😅😅

Haha Africa does get cold especially in some parts of Kenya, this year there was snow in a small town near Aberdares 😀

Cold season is around June- August, if you in Nairobi it’s kind of pleasant and cool but if you in hilly areas like aberdare the cold can be really unbearable

Watching from south Africa and as usual you did not disappoint. Yes that region or most part of central Kenya is cold so next time be prepared, like for example if you plan to travel to nanyuki ol pajeta conservancy or mt kenya region keep warm it's no play you will freeze badly. Secondly if you have drone ask around before flying it, kenya has western world type of security and military installations and intelligence agencies that you wouldn't want to cross their lines, ask fellow youtubers or locals who really know where and when to take photos or videos, I would not wish to see you in any type of problems at all. Just apply for the drone license and avoid filming the entrances of malls, certain buildings etc since it's illegal (in some malls prohibited even inside for security purposes) and you will be good 😊
