This is my number one fragrance in my top ten. Versatile like crazy and isn't going to choke out everyone in the room. Pure class in a bottle. Love the review Doc.
Its good to see Dracdoc finally admitting that value in a fragrance should be part of his rating system. Ive said this several times in comment sections of various videos but I will mention it again. Al Rehab Sultan is a similar fragrance. It smells as natural. I own it and think its great. And it retails for $6.50 a bottle or at least that's what I paid for mine when I bought it. Al Rehab kind of comes and goes on Amazon and it seems that supplies are limited and the price fluctuates based upon how long its been since a recent shipment has arrived in the states. But if you show patience or look for it then you can find it and its usually in the $6-$7 range for a bottle. It amuses me greatly that people fall all over themselves talking about Spice and Wood which according to this video was a 500 bottle limited edition that costs $700 for a flacon. The people at Basenotes suggest that Al Rehab is similar to Spice and Wood and perhaps better while those at Fragrantica rate Spice and Wood 4.38 out of 5 compared with Sultan earning a 4.19 out of 5 rating. Even Cody admits that he wouldn't buy spice and wood at its full price and for the rest of you who don't have a friend that can score you 50% off any Creed Flacon that you want; I would suggest Sultan. It can be hard to find but I think its worth the effort. It almost astonishes me that people would spend so much on Spice and Wood without trying Sultan first but I guess that maybe its not well known in the community. Ive seen lots of vids and reviews where people smelled S&W and talked about it and gently moved along. To my knowledge, Not one person from the RUclips community has reviewed Sultan. What a shame. Its fabulous.
The fact that it is expensive shouldn't have too much of an effect on its rating. I think it's a 10 and very few non-fragheads have smelled anything like it. I hate fragrances like Bleu that smell great, but ev1 owns and wears. Maybe the rarity of it makes it an 11 IMO. Whatever the case, great review on a great fragrance. I wore it yesterday, and my girlfriend said "You smell great, You smell like you today". Now that is a compliment and made me feel like a million bucks. I have received near Aventus level compliments from this fragrance as I have now worn it a good number of wearings.
Landmantx Ratings in my eyes are pretty worthless but everyone wants them. I sometimes give two like in this case where I take price into consideration and one where I don't. Great comments from your girlfriend!
That was a thorough and informative review. Thank you. Unfortunately, the scarcity of the fragrance and price tag may deter me from even getting my hands on a bottle of my own.
Wow! Only 2 hours? On me this is an all day frag, only out-performed by Aventus. I also find this a heavy scent and would limit its use to cool or cold weather. It's smells mature but classy. The price is keeping me from owning even a decant. Excellent review as always.
dracdoc Really interested in this fragrance now... high quality dryness sounds very unique. When you make mental notes of performance, do you also poll other people (to account for olfactory fatigue) on how strong a given cologne is? This is something I've been wondering about in general, because I've come to realize that I myself seem to olfactory fatigue really easily a lot of the time.. a bummer in its own way but also inconvenient for measuring, lol.
Himmat C You are right on the money. I am constantly asking people if they smell me to guage a fragrances strength.. my desk neighbor at work I my most asked culprit.. Becky next.
We have to remember Creed's pedigree is marketed for the aristocratic elite. Individuals of this caliber tend to be more refined and prefer fragrances that sit closer to the skin. Creed will never change to suit the needs of the working class, especially with its rare and vaulted fragrances. Thanks for the review!
I think that the price is not a good factor to rate a fragrance. If a fragrance is worth the money everybody has to decide for himself but in my opinion a 10 out of 10 smell always stays a 10 out of 10 because the price does not change the smell. Some people also think a 20$ fragrance is not worth the money because they can get an aftershave for 2$. Apart from that I thank you for the great review!
Gregory Dishon Well... Rich Wood is the smoothest smelling wood scent I have ever smelled.. its really "Rich" (I mean like heavy Rich). I personally prefer spice and wood more than Richwood

Interesting! And thanks!
Great review! I love this stuff! Just hate the price. -_-
Fragrance Bros. Agreed!

Ken Perry Sultan is nasty ass shit
Ken Perry why take price into consideration when we’re talking about niche fragrances? If you care about price, don’t watch niche videos, period.
@Dracdoc, Compared to Musc Ravageur? Any similarity from the spice standpoint? I noticed that clove is listed in the notes..one of my top notes.

Great review
Thanks!
Come back bro 😢
On my skin, it´s the best Creed (performance wise). A 10/10, in my opinion! Excellent review, my friend. Take care!

Gotcha, completely understand.

I've heard of people getting better performance, sadly not me on this though!

One of my favorites...

Scott Armstead Good point as to who it's marketed to

Would like to hear your thoughts on vetiver geranium if you get a decant.
Colin Benfield If I can get my hands on it, will do
Where is the best place to get samples, I live where their not many department store?
Mr1980corey Order online
Hello Dracdoc,
Can you tell me a good web-site, where can i buy quality/price/original fragrances?
I have a video on where to buy fragrances out
Somebody needs to make a same quality for lower price and show creed that we can sell it much cheeper
Creed pricing is outrageous.
Gotta agree
If they priced it like Perry Ellis then everyone would have it, then... you'd get sick of it.
new logo is cool
Thanks!
dracdoc I like the new Logo as well.
I get similarly poor performance. It's nice, but that's about it. I'll not be investing in a full bottle when my decant runs out.
QWERTYOP80 Nice!
I will own this one day Cody, but not at retail. lol Question is Rich Wood or Spice & Wood?
Gregory Dishon Well... Rich Wood is the smoothest smelling wood scent I have ever smelled.. its really "Rich" (I mean like heavy Rich). I personally prefer spice and wood more than Richwood
Nice logo, simple and elegant...Is this your work?
Couldn't hear the audio.
zazenh It's probably on your end, but audio is working on the video
Hi thanks Cody, yeah I realized later it was on my end.
Just got in on a split for this, 50ml and the bottle for around £83 plus shipping, not too bad.
