    I have Meccaniche Veneziane (former name of the brand) Nereide and Nereide GMT gen 3 (not to mention Redentore) and I must say, that the way they evolved in the last couple of years is amazing. The attention to detail is even more contrasted and new lines of Nereide watches (like this beautiful Tungsteno) are even more eye appealing. Also packaging changed for better? Well, current one looks great and I really mean it, but I would really like to see a new twist to the old handmade in Italy wooden boxes, that would be something big 👍 Anyway, Morelli brothers really did a great job, progressing throughout those years with their watches 👌
    P. S. Also their customer warranty service is top notch, trust me. That's another reason why this brand is very dear to my heart, not to mention my love for Italy :)

      As a brand, i like their pride for sustainability and product design. Most people dont know that product design involves the packaging and marketing. I came from a Product design background and this is really one of those products that created a whole personality from the items, packaging and even social media presence. very well rounded indeed.

    Nice to see them back around with a rebranding. I've got a couple with the old brand. I've got an Aragon with a tungsten bezel and Soprod movement, and love it. Not in a buying zone at present, but congrats to them for making this fine looking watch. Your reviews continue to be legendary!

    • @DesignAtelier

      thats really a bold move to rebrand. I like this new more sleek appeal than before. its not just a matter of dropping letters from their name but its an overall change in approach. They're a lot more focused and elegant looking than before.

      @@DesignAtelier Yes indeed! The bracelet has a bit of Nove almost. Can't recall which model. Looks great though. I'm not a fan of butterfly clasps since they usually lack adjustment and fit can be either one link too big or one too small, but I'd chance it with that beauty.

    It’s a great looking watch. Although the case, bezel, and dial are obviously inspired by the Rolex Yachtmaster, the bracelet by the PP Nautilus, and the logo by VC, they’ve made it really work design wise.

    • @neutronalchemist3241
      @neutronalchemist3241 2 месяца назад

      I don't really see a Yachtmaster influence. Case is similar, like for 90% of dive watches out there. Many watches have a sunburst dial, and Venezianico offers many other dial options. Hands and indexes are completely different (hands and indexes are more Seiko Prospex, but a bit more elegant) and, to be a dive watch's bezel, the one the Nereide mixes indexes and numbers at 15-30-45 in a quite original way.

    Great job with the artistic style of the video.
    But the watch is too big at 42mm & the male links as well as the lug to lug of 48/49mm is too big.
    Hopefully they would do a 40mm watch or at least reduce the lug to lug size to a more wearable 46mm & no first male links on the bracelet that pushes the lug to lug to a whopping 50+mm!!
    Hope venezianico read this review, otherwise the watch looks amazing & almost perfect imo. Venezianico please do something about the size of the watch.
    BTW please do a review of the Redentore 40mm.

    Hope they do better on their second attempt as a watch brand. Design was always their "good card" (of course, they are Italians!), rest i heard things here and there. Happy they did one of the first GMTs with the new Seiko movement, nice looking watch. This too.

    How heavy is this watch sized for your wrist? Tungsten is such a heavy metal.

    • @DesignAtelier
      @DesignAtelier  Год назад

      True that tungsten is heave but not on the wrist. Its so minute that it really feels like any old steel watch. But man this tungsten bezel is just glorious compared to anything polished.

  • @lockhandle8276
    @lockhandle8276 Год назад

    I dont like that it is a limited model. This watch has a lot of potential, if it can come in smaller sizes also. There needs to be a 39.5 mm version, which uses an SW-300, so that it can also be a bit thinner.

  • @Edgaros
    @Edgaros Год назад

    Cool watch, but the indices and the hands seem a little small (edit; thin) in comparison with the rest of the watch (edit; especially the bezel which is quite thick). I'd like to see a little less real estate on the dial. Also, why no framed date window? I don't like it when companies just open a hole for the date window. It cheapens the watch! At least there are beveled edges in the date window here...
    Ps. The bracelet is magnificent!

    • @DesignAtelier
      @DesignAtelier  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment. I will have to hear from Venezianico why they left out the framed date window. Likely its not to further draw attention to the already obvious window. I guess it would add more volume to its visual profile when its already marginally considered as an index at first glance. For me i prefer my date windows to be at the 6 Oclock position for my OCD sake. Framed or not im ok with it.

    • @Edgaros
      @Edgaros Год назад

      @@DesignAtelier There are many like you, yeah. Personally i don't mind the position that much (unless it is completely unreasonable), but i do like my date windows framed. In this case the indices are also framed, so the date window falls flat imo. It would still look like an index even with the frame as far as i am concerned.

    sounds like oem parts from china and cased somewhere, who knows

    • @DesignAtelier
      @DesignAtelier  Год назад

      If all of the parts are in-house made, the cost would sky-rocket. Having parts from china and cased anywhere else is not bad on itself as this is actually a normal thing that happens. Its a matter of have quality construction and finishing that elevates watch from sub-thousand dollar to over whatever marker you elect to put on. After handling this watch, i can honestly say its above and beyond better finished and presented than many brands has to offer under a thousand bucks. (im looking at you tissot and longines)
