    These poems are quickly becoming the main reason I tune into the Huddle Breakdown. 😂

    Great discussion again. It's good for Scottish football that Aberdeen are on the up again. I think they really have the chance to be at least second this year, particularly as they don't have the demands of European football that we and the Rangers have. A key date is the 30th October when Rangers have to travel to Aberdeen. Meanwhile let's hope for a win on Saturday. HH

      It's almost impossible to convey to the Celtic Gen Z social meedya podcast types, that those of us of a certain Celtic vintage, remember well the 1980s & how back then you would sell your first born to get ANY kind of a draw at Pittodrie & a victory over them when they came doon to Glasgow, was ALWAYS ruthlessly hard fought & hard won & so celebrated in a context not far short of one normally reserved for a victory over those on the other side of the River Clyde & so based on the maxim that it's ONLY ever exciting when you win, we welcome a long, long, awaited rejuvenated Aberdeen to Celtic Park & at the game's conclusion, we send them back up the road with zero points, but if they were to leave the East End with a draw.....

    Really enjoying the breadth and detail afforded by this second weekly podcast. I always thought this cerebral corner of Celtic internet discourse needed more airtime.
    The only thing that undermines the immense erudition and eloquence - further enhanced by the riveting poetry - is the background nuisance of barking dogs. Makes it difficult to enjoy the great discussion when this is going on.
    Otherwise, really enjoying the output and thank you.

    The problem with Celtic is sides don’t generally press our defence in Scotland with the exception of a ten minute spell in the Glasgow derby this season. We struggled in that spell and that’s magnified in CL games. I’m no expert or data analyst but possibly we need to strengthen the defence and central midfield to improve that area?

      I do ponder at times whether the LLM's and the current "AI" are geared towards the equivalent of Newtonian vs Bakian physics....all without really understanding any of it!

      @alanmorrison5981 Thanks Alan, I've always thought that Devlin is pretty dirty player and liable to pick up reds and yellows. We could do with playing 11 v 10 and putting quick players around him might see him picking up some cards.
      Please don't mention the Feyenoord again. I was in the final year of my apprenticeship and spent two weeks wages to go to that debacle.

    I was and continue to be very concerned about how we use Engles, who I'm sure played in McGregor's position before he came to us.
    Bernardo seems to be that type of player as well 🤷‍♂️.
    Creativity isn't their strong point, it shows and it's a concern.

    • @frankbrennan1619
      @frankbrennan1619 7 часов назад +1

      £11 million Engels is a big strong athletic guy & that's it, whilst cut price Bernardo is a similar type & so when you're playing at the very highest level in Europe, as we are again away at Atalanta on Wednesday night, that is, sadly, just nowhere near good enough against a Team with far superior players, playing in a far superior domestic League, but that is NOT to say they can't do, or try to do, some kind of ''containing'' job against the Europa League winners, but of course, it is ALL down to how our current Manager sets us up & so will he go again with a 7-1 Dortmund thumping mentality, or will he ruthlessly choose a formation to keep us in the game for as long as possible?

      @@TheKapeeteeleestPeeg Dear old Alan most rightly said months back, that the £32 million we spent in the summer, was ALL down to Rodgers & as most vividly evidenced by the huge big whopping £11 million spent on someone with barely, if any, kind of ''creative'' midfield bone in his body, whilst always remembering the most horrific & most ridiculous £9.5 million, with the add on, given to little Norwich City for their THIRD choice striker with a market value of £4.5 million maximum & now that we hear that Tisdale was acting as some kind of ''consultant'' during this period, did her ever pose the thought to our current Manager, that was this the very best use of spending a huge big whopping £20 million?

    • @TheKapeeteeleestPeeg
      @TheKapeeteeleestPeeg 5 часов назад

      @@frankbrennan1619Yup, when you look at it, in this light, against Dortmund, we lined up with McGregor, a creative midfielder, protecting the back 4 and Engles / Bernardo, 2 defensive midfielders, trying to press / create in front of him ? 🤔. I think Engles and/or Bernardo should occupy McGregor's space depending on Scotland/ Europe, then some combination of McGregor, Hatate, McCowan in front of him / them for creativity...

      @@TheKapeeteeleestPeeg Now in his 32nd year Wee Callum, played his very best football under oor current Manager first time round & of course back then he was much younger, had far better players around him & not burdened with the Captaincy, but ever since then he's naturally regressed with age & playing with inferior players & so why was it exactly, he was so stupidly & most erroneously, given a huge big whopping FIVE YEAR deal when he was 30 years of age & having made no significant contributions at a European level for some considerable time & if Rodgers was really serious about the CL, he would have signed AT LEAST one out & out, the very best quality defensive midfielder we could afford.

      Of course it could ''only'' be 3-0 against Atalanta at half - time & that would be ''progress'' after being doon 5-1 at the exact same point against Dortmund & as I write, I have no idea what the score will be, simply because I have no idea how oor current Manager will set us up on Wednesday night & as I said back in the summer, if Rodgers was truly serious aboot ''competing'' at the very highest level in Europe, rather than just ''participating'' & so ONLY being on on the receiving end of our customary thumpings, he would have signed AT LEAST one, but preferably two, out & out the very best quality defensive midfielders we could afford, but sadly for us & Celtic Football Club as a whole, this was the very last thing on his mind.....
