- This is the 2nd version of this song that I've uploaded. I realized after I had uploaded the other one that I had cut too much of the song at the beginning and it started too quickly with Ann singing. So I added a few seconds to the beginning to help it have a smoother start. I hope you enjoy!
one of my favorites of all time. And to think she had broken her back and was strapped into a metal truss every night and then took the truss off, took pain killers and DANCED to make the film. Amazing
Will never tire of watching any dance routine by Ms Miller
Hardest working dame in Hollywood!⭐️❤️👌🙏
This is the best dance I have ever seen. As if she is not even human. A goddess.
Ann Miller is the Queen of Dance. She just flies.
One of the finest tap numbers EVER done! Dang, that woman could dance!!! Those feet just fly!!! Amazing... Love it! Thank you for uploading this!
One of the best tap numbers ever put on film! And to do that in a back brace too. Bravo Ms. Miller! X
Absolutely amazing. Ann Miller is the greatest!
Wow in my 40 yrs this was my first time ever hearing this ladies name but my God she was Incredible I mean she left me speechless Wowwww and the fact that she was a Aries like me makes her even better 😂😂😂 #AriesGangGang 💐💐💐💐💐❤
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how I got here but was in the mood of old tunes and old Hollywood- love this movie and this dancer! One of my favourites to watch! So before Taylor Swift Shake It Off- you had Ann Miller killing it with Shakin' the Blues Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a look at Ann Miller in "Too Darn Hot" from the movie "Kiss Me, Kate". Hubba hubba!
People overuse this word but by definition Ann miller was a legend one of a kind it’s been almost 20 years since we lost her but her routines are still being watched
I agree. She was amazing.
I never tire of watching this number!
My all time favourite female dancer of Hollywood's Golden Era. Her Neandertal Man in On The Town along with this and Too Darn Hot, are all showstoppers❤
Prehistoric Man
@WolfGirl04 yes of course! She said he was Nethanderal, but the song was Prehistoric Man
She never once said neanderthal. She wants a prehistoric man.
Modern man is not for me
The movie star and dapper Dan
Give me the healthy Joe
From ages ago
A prehistoric man...
She always used the term prehistoric man. I have the song on my channel under my playlist for On the Town, if you'd like to rewatch the amazing dancing again. She really is amazing with her machine gun taps!
The final turns are amazing!!❤
The very best of all time!
A class act all the way 🎉❤🎉
What a Beautiful Woman ....
Absolutely brilliant
Great Ann Miller.
Happy 100th Birthday Anniversary, Miss Miller! 🎂🎉🎶❤️
She did this number in a back brace. Her husband threw her down the stairs and broke her back. She was a true professional.
Her back was broken before the movie's production process started, and the brace was worn for the auditions.
@@wolfgirl0410 yes but she said in interviews she still wore a brace in the final cut, as a back injury like that doesn't just "go away". Amazing, regardless!
allthatjazzspaz95 why would he do that??
Abusive people don't need reasons to do the things they do. They will always feel justified in doing anything they want, just because they wanted to. Definitely does NOT make it right!! A fight with a loved one NEVER deserves to turn violent on ANY level. Disagreement is one thing, but any type of abuse is wrong, fighting or not! Personally, I never heard WHY their fight escalated to such a level, so I can't specifically answer your question though.
I guess she was a true professional. Seems to me if your back is broken, it might be okay to value your long term health though. Good grief.
Thank you for the upload. my tap dance students love this clip. ive showed 3 classes today
Ann Miller and Eleanor Powell are the reason I started to tap dance
Watched Doris Day do that last week. Great interpretation by both.
So loved
I’m embarrassed to say this is the first time seeing this. I heard the song on the radio yesterday & Shazam’d it which led me here.
Now off to find the movie.

Edit: checked out your channel…insta-subbed
Glad I can help introduce new viewers to great old music!
Great legs
Thank you so much for this. Have you seen the rehearsal footage of Ann, in dance studio, and recording studio when she recreated this number in 1987 for the "100th Birthday of Hollywood" TV special...at the age of 64? Its here on YT.."Ann Miller Rehearsal and Performance".
I enjoy this video and the other too. I love your uploaded dance videoclips! Thanks very much!
I enjoyed them both as well, but the few extra seconds at the beginning for this version helps, at least in my mind, to keep the song from feeling too rushed into. Lol
One of the best dancers in Hollywood history. Not remembered as she should be amongst the likes of Astaire and Kelly.
Another great dancer that is not given the credit she deserved is Eleanor Powell. In my opinion.
Super lady!!! Jim
She’s a distant cousin. Apparently she got all the talent for the whole fam. 😄👯♀️💃🏻
She could allegedly do 500 taps a minute. After watching this number I believe it! In her autobio she illustrates how she dubbed all her taps in time to the steps on the screen. Dubbing is perfect.
Amazing how there are still recent comments on this video
I don't understand why I made this comment
If I remember right I believe I read somewhere that she was injured while filming this film. I want to say with a back injury or her ribs
I hadn't heard that. Just went and looked up trivia on her on IMDB. It says that she auditioned for her role in this movie while wearing a steel back brace due to having broken her back. Further investigation showed that she delivered her baby with a broken back, and that she had broken her back in a fight with her husband. All of that just made me have even more astounding respect for her amazing talents and strength. She was beyond strong! She was a Wonder Woman in her own right!
WolfGirl04 her husband threw her down the stairs. And she had a stillborn.
But still, to have gone through all that and continued to do so well in her dance. To be able to not let depression or fear stop her from persevering. She was just so amazing and strong on so many levels!
WolfGirl04 she had a great outlook on life and she was glamorous until the day she died. She deserves more recognition
Tap dancers should make great drummers!
They definitely know how to keep rhythm!
Talking about tap dancing dynamite. So chrisp so on the money! To call Anne Miller a legend would be understating such talent nobody can tap dance like Anne Miller before or after her she is a one and only sensation!
Who was the choreographer? Depron?
1:25-3:17 tap dance break
She changed the lyrics.
Cardi B can wap... so....
