I have always been in love with Ann Miller but until I saw this video even I had not a clue how unbelievably phenomenal her talent is. There is seriously no one that compares to Ann Miller

She radiates something that will never be seen again
She somehow lived in the shadow of Judy Garland even though she had limitless talent herself. She was always my favourite actress singer and dancer.
She was the best. She still holds the record for the most taps in 60 seconds.
Dear Ann was 64 in this video - what an amazingly talented and kind woman she was.
I’m sure she’s dancing around us, tapping away, as we watch this video 💕
She is so talented!! Can you believe she was 63 or 64 here?!

I always wonder why they didn't think of inviting her to make guest appearances on the Golden Girls. She would have been perfect in that episode where Dorothy, Rose and Blanche had to do a kind of Broadway song and dance number.
Um, she’s a seasoned dancer. I’m 60 and surf and skateboard. Any person who stays active can still do things we did at 20. An average 65 year old would be on the floor clutching their chest but Ann stayed active so this isn’t a big deal. At 75-80 she could still do this. I know 75 year olds who still surf and skateboard. They stayed active so it’s no big deal. My point? Stay physically active, dumbasses. 😅
She looks older despite her vigor, and in fact, she was probably more like 70 here because there used to be a lot of discrepancy about her real age until it finally got wiped off the internet search. That's not a knock, and it actually makes her more impressive to dance this hard at whatever age she was.
Happy 100th birthday Ms Ann Miller, an actress that Oozed talent from head to toe !
I have a different respect for this woman.. she inspires me.. she been through so much in life and bounced back hard ...heart ache and tragedy still was a happy soul

*Mary Ann, Lynda Carter, Barbara Eden, Raquel WeLch!!!*
*But, Ann MiLLer, Is #1 with Me!!!!*
While I’m not a dancer, I’ve always marveled at great dancers, and Ann Miller is among my favorites. She deserves all the flowers.
This is incredibly unique! I don't think anyone has been able to witness a record of a star of her era and caliber sweating, working, thinking and commenting at rehearsal!
And she’s totally on top of everything. I’m convinced she was some kind of genius.
Holy shite! The cardio demanded in that number! And to still be able to belt it out like Ethel Merman!! And, OMG, those turns! I'm in awe.
Ann Miller was the greatest female tap dancer of all time.
This woman was magical. Saw her on Broadway in Sugar Babies in '81. UNWORLDLY TALENT.
I used to tap dance till I was in my late 30’s .Ann Miller was incredible believe me.
Her tap shoes did have loose taps as do all the other dances in this blog, which make double the sound…….. I know this because my tap shoe’s had them too.
This is the kind of thing you want to take in your time machine back to 1937 to show Ann Miller that she'd still have it fifty years later.
Incredible! What an absolutely wonderful woman. Talent, looks, legs, and a beautiful intelligent personality all rolled into one … with a big dash of humbleness. What’s not to love? Just wish this kind of star quality existed today ❤
I’m only 60 but I’m sitting here watching Home Improvement the episode where Tim & Jill take ballroom dancing lessons and their instructor is none other than Anne Miller! I love her such a talented beautiful lady ❤
She was an amazing dancer and singer
*Ann MiLLer is My Proof of GOD!!!!*
It is nothing short of a miracle to see that 64-year old, Ann Miller in 1987, still had a fantastic figure and those never-ending shapely legs that captivated audiences the world over in the late 30's, 40's and 50's with her specialized form of tap dancing Wow! I doubt that even a day went by without Ann having her strenuous practice. There's no other possible explanation than dancing and exercising that kept her so trim, slim and still every inch the movie star to look at. Just loved her dancing in Kiss me Kate, Lovely to look at, Easter Parade, Two tickets to Broadway, Easter Parade and on an on. Very rare video and great find. Thanks!
*Ann MiLLer, is My EVIDENCE of GOD!!!!*
*I am Here OnLy to Watch Ann MiLLer, I just Fast 1.5,*
*Sped, ALL the Rest of it!!!!*
This is astounding, I had no idea this kind of rehearsal footage of Ann Miller existed. Still had her clear-as-a-bell tap technique at 64! Throwing it all down in rehearsal, what a pro and a trooper. They do not make them like her anymore. (The orchestra ain’t bad, either!)
Lord! She was my age dancing up a storm and laying it down. The best dancer on the boards. Still the GOAT.
She made her film debut in Anne of Green Gables (RKO, 1934) when she was 11 years old. She was a star until the day she died at the age of 80 from lung cancer on January 22, 2004.
OMG I'm so glad they videoed this it's amazing that the taps in the number actually were Miller dancing. She's just amazing. Wow...I'm thrilled getting to see this thank you so much
Did you catch the episode of Home Improvement where she’s a ballroom dance instructor?
They make it look so easy in the finished product. What a fascinating look backstage at the sheer effort it takes to create that impression.
What a joy to watch the great Ann Miller doing a dance rehearsal. Amazing to watch her professionalism combined with such a talent too!
Wonderful Ann Miller! She just got better and better with time. She played a lot of summer stock and really honed her skills. When she was announced as Angela Lansbury's successor in Mame, people thought it was a joke. It was no joke. Ann was phenomenal! She wowed audiences again in Sugar Babies! Ann is inspirational. She never gave up or quit. I loved her commercial for "The Great American Soup". The soup didn't sell, but Ann was terrific and looked sensational.

Those dances were so so lucky to have that experience with a pro
My favourite of all the dancers. She was the best. Amazing woman.
This is marvelous!! And nice to see Conductor/music director Elliot Lawrence in the recording section. And the late great Glen Roven in the booth watching Ann!!
I can see the dancers marking time in the sound booth which this is awesome but totally realistic for a tap dancer it just goes with the turf as you are counting in your body. I learned to tap on a fluke audition more like a dare and have really enjoyed it ever since.
This is so priceless and precious to me watching how hard she is working still ……have loved Ann in All her numbers all the pictures she worked in . No one could hold a match to her . She truly loved being a Star made , groomed , taught at the MGM golden halcyon days of yesteryear . In her interview series ( think there were 4-6 episodes on RUclips can find ) she talked about if she could only have One More Picture , One More go Around ……..it showed all her life , never had a harsh word the studio system or co stars .
This is amazing! So much talent and dedication ❤️
Bless her heart! I saw that show in 1986.....
She was amazing Ms. Miller
Sixty four years old and absolutely astonishing!! OMG
Wow! Ann Miller was 64 in 1987 when this was filmed. Remarkable talent and stamina!
All I can say is WOW!!! What a privilege to see this wonderful video of one of the greatest Hollywood legends. Thank you!
Ann Miller.... Wow!
Ann Miller was a tremendous talent
Golden. Thank you for posting. Her footwork was so fast that some of her steps are hard to decipher.
I'm convinced Ann tapped her way out of her mother's womb . . . and never slowed down! Incredible!
Her passion is a first kiss on a hot summer night. Beautiful!❤
I'm enjoying this. Dancers really work hard
That they do. And singers, too, even though it doesn't look it.
AMAZING. The best female tap dancer ever.
Hard to exclude Eleanor Powell - perhaps a tie.
@@hawby7mgh Powell was a great technical dancer, but couldn't spin and tap at the same time...
Ann Miller did all this and still smoked a pack a day!
She was born in 1923, so she was about 64 here. Amazing!
She can still dance , Anne Miller she is Fabulous ....
From Australia
Well…she can’t “still” dance, but she could up until she died in 2004. 😁
OMG Ann was 64 yrs young here !!! WOW
Wow she could really tap it out . Amazing and seemed a great personality too ❤
I LOVE this....now I can really see the steps at a closer look!!! Thank you for posting this.....
She was fantastic
She still has it! I love Ann Miller
This is a great song, Shaking The Blues Away, which was recorded by Ruth Etting in the 1920s. This song from the 1920s which was from the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927 was so good that it survived up into the 80s and Ann Miller. Here is a link to the original recording by Ruth Etting on RUclips. ruclips.net/video/v0TG1s551T4/видео.html
Wow 64?! Amazing
I cannot thank you enough for uploading this archival footage! Charlene Painter was an amazing dancer as well as a choreographer, this is the first time I've heard about her.
Considering Ann Miller was around 63 here it’s interesting to compare how she aged compared to someone of a similar age now such as Madonna.
Its interesting how light and efortless is her dancing compare to younger dancers :)
Madge is an altered male. ..mtf....and takes the elite drug that ages you if you quit. Part of the cabal /kabbala that is being blotted out so we can have a world with peace & love. That drug is made from young blood. 😐 Check it out. Maybe more info on the other platforms.
Ma donna. .. mandonna. Madam X....nuts.
Ann was also knock kneed as was Desi Arnaz. They danced together?in a movie. Fabulous!
I could tell she enjoys dancing
..how cool is this !!!! Very fun !
Happy 100! Ann Miller!❤
I actually learned some steps and combos from this, just brilliant!
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in this dance rehearsal and yeas I still love N Miller❤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow she still had it back then❤
love Ann Miller
This is 50 years after the other video you just posted of Ann Miller dancing! She is amazing! This number is the entire reason I watch, “Easter Parade,” every year.”
Same!
She is so talented and such a kind person and professional.

And Ann is double the age of her co workers!
Ann miller the best
I just wonder if the other dancers knew who she was? And then to see her warmed up and going, they were probably thinking Holy Shit!!!
64 old! Bravo!!!!
*Ukraine???*
I can't tell you how much I love this, I could watch it all day. Thank you for posting x
Brilliant to see.
She is so prepared and so smart. Some of the best rehearsal footage ever shown. Love when Miller belts out a few measures live. The lady knows her stuff.
And of course she had it!!!!!!!!! She was the matter
WOW THANKS EXCELLENT!!! ..wa happend to dance and music???????
She is better than the folks half her age ❤
Dancing ain't easy!
AT 5:55 she adjusts the camera angle to better show her number to the audience.
Confident pro!
I don't blame her, he keeps panning up and cutting out their feet, aka THE BEST BIT OF TAP DANCING! 🤦🏼♀️
Are those LeRoy Reams and Don Correia in the chorus? I had the good fortune to meet Ann Miller in the 1970's in Los Angeles. I should say were at the same party, I am sure she had no idea I was alive. She must have been pushing 65 when she did this show and still had a lot of taps left in her!!!
It is with Hinton Battle. Greg Burge too but he missed this rehearsal.
It looks easy until you see how much you have to put into it
Una genia total!!!!
Omg she was the best . I knew she was talented but she was tap in same way Astaire was elegant
Hollywood aristocracy in action 😍
*ExPLain*
Loved watching this!

Wow
Jeffsabu, do you have the video that Walter Painter choreographed of Donald O'Connor dancing at the Academy Awards? There's a poor-quality version online. Would be great to have a crisper version.
The guy in the peach color shirt. I would never guess he's a dancer he looks like a successful CEO
Lee Roy Reems. Actually considered more of an actor/singer, but he’s a proficient tapper!
Lee Roy Reames - one of B’way’s best.
I wonder if there is similar footage of Liza rehersing that amazing opening from this same show?
*Who is Liza???*
@Justin Martyr The greatest all round entertainer ever, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garlands daughter, she is amazing in that show Happy Birthday Hollywood. (this rehearsal is part of that show, Liza opens the whole thing) I take it you were being serious when you said "who's Liza?" 😏
@@glenconmc*Yeah I Don't Know who Liza is nor the->*
*Happy B.D. HoLLywood*
@@glenconmc *Who is the Director Guy, in This???*
@Justin Martyr His name is Walter Painter, and that is his wife, the assistant choreographer. I think you would be able to find the whole show (Happy Birthday Hollywood) maybe on RUclips? Liza's opening section is amazing. There are some really great routines in the show and many many Hollywood stars and celebs. Well worth watching, you won't see this kind of thing or talent again.
Who he please? He's good
who was the chorographer?
The vampire lovers
I wish Annie would have drank more water. She was still gorgeous but hydrating should have been a mandatory request from leader
Uh, how exactly do you know how much water she drank????
🎹 One of those dancers is the legendary Leroy
Reams... now 80.
Who is the Director?
@@terryhammond1253 *Non of these Narcs. Ever RePLied!!!*
At 18:27, interviewer asks, "How is this number going to look on the 27th?" Ann: "Well, we hope it'll be a knockout." Well, anyone who has watched the finished product ( ruclips.net/video/CCpCSHJPT4w/видео.html ) can see that it surely was!
Thank you for that link. 😁 the finished number after seeing the rehearsal is great.
