We constantly change the name Istanbul to Unintentio Constantinople when talking about traveling through Turkey. I live in a region with few Muslims but at least the ones I met are friendly and kind, I like it when they tell stories about there and I would love to visit, it's a shame that it's so difficult to visit with so many conflicts. I would like to understand why the Arabs revolted and supported the British in the first war against the Ottomans. In my country, at least until today, I have not found books with academic studies that delve into this issue in my language.

yes, you have to remember that 1) the leading family hundreds of years ago aren't the same people who are suffering today. The people today are innocent from these leaders. And 2) it was only ONE family that misled the other Arabs into revolting, and that powerful family doesn't speak for all Arabs. The reforms which did take place in the Ottoman Empire were too little, too late.
Also bear in mind that the Middle East was by all accounts a secondary front as far as the allies were concerned. The main theater were still the Western Front and Eastern Front where the majority of Entente and Central Powers fought. This is btw why many of the "British" troops in the Middle East actually were Australians and New Zealanders from the British Commonwealth. Troops from India were also fairly common.

We constantly change the name Istanbul to Unintentio Constantinople when talking about traveling through Turkey. I live in a region with few Muslims but at least the ones I met are friendly and kind, I like it when they tell stories about there and I would love to visit, it's a shame that it's so difficult to visit with so many conflicts. In my country, at least until today, I have not found books with academic studies that delve into this issue in my language.
