Annette O'Toole (Smallville, Virgin River) joins us this week to share iconic stories from her decades of work alongside Hollywood legends and all the while how her naivety prevented her from being taken advantage of throughout her early career. Annette goes on to tell a crazy story of her travels back and forth across the country during 9/11 and how it inevitably led to her winning an Academy Award. We also talk about her relationship with Michael McKean, enjoying acting now more than ever, and the special impact Smallville has had on people’s lives.

I had a crush on Annette for years, (still do.) Had been a fan since 'Fooling Around (with Robbie Benson),' and-- the first time remember seeing her-- the remake of 'Cat People'. I didn't realize until years later she was this sexy redhead character, I never forgot in a single episode of 'The Partridge Family'
Just connecting the dots now that her and Michael McKeon, who are married, played Topanga’s parents briefly on Boy Meets World.

I dont get it. Why are predators and abusers always protected in hollywood? It`s ALWAYS ... "a producer, Director, casting director, co actor" tried to take advantage of me BUT I CANT SAY HIS NAME... Why?...why is this person allowed to do it to another person. If people dont warn others these predators will do it over and over again. I`m sure if she knew that this director was known for doing this she wouldnt even went to this "casting". So many young women were taken advantage of and sexual assaulted because these predators are allowed to do it in hollywood.

Could also be for legal reasons. If you make a serious sexual-related accusation about someone in public they could sue you for slander. What proof does she have if it was only her and the guy in the hotel room? It's just he said she said unfortunately.

He says "come over here" that's her 'taken advantage of' moment? Was his dich out? All men have the right to express interest to all women, it's unwise to approach married women and minors aren't women (though I think it's ethical to ask out someone you knew before they were 18 as soon as they turn 18.) They had the right to ask her to go to Vegas for the weekend, she was clueless that they wanted a date. The only thing that would be unethical (outside of force or drugging) would be "I won't give you this role unless you X." However, if at a party it is announced that the director wants to give a role to their girlfriend as soon as they find one; that's just saying I want to help someone who makes me happy. Hollywood is too dark, it's always F me one time for a role; what if I like it? I've already used my ace in the hole, I'd say "date me for a few months and you'll like me" if you aren't willing to give me a chance, why should I give anyone a chance. I'll just hire famous actors with an established fan base.
