@@youlikeanh Her accent in Downsizing was pretty accurate and based on people she grew up with. Some accents, like a Russian accent or a Jamaican accent, when they are done accurately, they can sound "stereotypical"-- because there's a lot that's right in a stereotype, it just twists the truth and creates a lot of negative associations. I think it's sad that non-English accents have been so demonized that strong ones sound "stereotypical" or "inaccurate" or "fake."

Michelle Williams is one of the best actress of her generation. She's a chameleon in many of her movies. She can really dissapeared into a role, as much as she's extremely invested in her character. One of my favs at the last Cannes Film Festival. Saw it just after the award ceremony and it was such a nice, calm and relaxing piece of film. Yout being projected into the life of a woman in it's thirty, who live as an artist. And then Reichardt follows a thread of ironic, touching, meditating sequences about life going on on screen. By little touches, she show us all kinds of feelings, thoughts and situations. And you just happen to carry on with it... Truly magic on film

This movie is so creative. It’s so artsy! Makes me wanna be a painter, artist , sculpture…….even a pigeon bird rescuer ! 🐦 FYI, did you know that pigeons bird are fully-grown to adulthood by “4 weeks”!!. That’s why we never see them as babies size.

as an aspiring filmmaker with a lot of artistry and someone that LOVES A24 (seriously!), I was super excited to see this -- what looked to be a new Lady Bird or Moonlight.
it was -- to put it plainly -- straight ass cheeks. the film felt like it had less vision than a blind man and more awkward pauses than two middle schoolers on a first date.
i don't want my money back but i want A24 to give me a shot at a re-directing this.
