    Great video! I never knew to use pine cones for pet birds. You gave wonderful recommendations; gathering good ones, not old and rotted; not picking them up from lying on the ground, washing them well and using towel to keep them submerged, baking in the oven. With my budgies, I'm going to place millet buds in the pine cones. Hopefully, the pine cones will be used as toys also.
    I really enjoyed seeing Marbles demolish that pine cone; probably took her little time to tear it apart, LOL.

      Marbles rips them apart in a few minutes, lol.

    Awesome video! We haven't got any local pine trees which is a shame as Id love to give these a go! (and we have a bird flu outbreak right now so I can't take anything from outside anyway!)

    How long do the pine cones last? Or at least how long should they be left I. The cage? Also I have an outdoor cage. Would it be fine placing them out there?

  • @flockofrcbirds
    @flockofrcbirds 2 года назад

    Unfortunately we have no pine forests in the nearer area. But around christmas there are closed cones, which should watered and kept warm or in the oven until they onened and the seeds can be used for (human) food. Do you think they can be given to the birds?

      Your welcome! You can certainly use them for your canaries. You can hide small pieces of millet and food for foraging to keep them busy

    Hello! Amazing idea! İm trying that myself now, i wanted to ask if it would be okay to use pinecones i picked up 1-2 years ago? İll clean them well and bake them but they re not freshly picked

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  Год назад

      If they look okay and don't have mild and are hard and crispy they may be okay. Have a look at them and decide.

    Hi, good idea ♥️
    I want to ask you about raising a java finche and what it needs because I like this type and would like to buy it, so I knew that you have one of them.
    Give me some advices, please 😍

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад +1

      I will be doing a species spotlight soon on the Java Finch soon. Make sure to subscribe and turn on your notifications. I could write a page about them but to sum it up, get the largest cage where length is more important than height. Feed lots of fresh foods especially dark leafy greens along with various seeds and pellets. Provide them with Bathing opportunities as they love to bathe daily. Make sure to give 12 hours of sleep.

    What world are we living in where we need. To find a tree that dosnt have pesticides

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад

      Some trees need to be sprayed against evasive insects, fungas etc. otherwise the trees would die. It's to save the trees.
      Not all trees are sprayed buy make sure you know your trees.
