    I remember one time that I made the mistake of using bread flour, but honestly, I think it was better than all purpose

    I used the bread flour...OMG these were the most chewy tasty cookies! Thank you for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    Thanks for the comparison! I was actually wondering because I ran out of all purpose flour a while back & decided to try to use up all the extra bread flour I had stored in the freezer for the pandemic lol. So I’ve been using it in cookies for a while now. Seemed delicious as ever but didn’t know the taste difference!

    Good video! I didn't realize how much butter, sugar and chocolate goes into just a few cookies. Makes me want to go eat an apple!

      Haha for sure! I ate two of them this whole weekend and I still feel like I need to drop sugar for a week

    The darker the sugar the chewier the cookies according to Alton Brown. I’m trying this recipe because it’s similar to his. I’m gonna see if the dark brown sugar makes a difference. Awesome video - thanks !

      @@danjseif the dough is cooling in the refrigerator - super excited! I’m going to recycle the butter paper and cut it to use under each cookie to hopefully prevent any browned or blackened bottoms. I’ll definitely keep you posted! 🍪💕

      @@danjseif the cookies were indeed chewy and delicious. The half browned butter was chefs kiss.
      They did get really spread out and flat no matter what but I think that’s part of having a chewy cookie maybe 🤔
      The butter paper on the bottom definitely was a cool trick I’ll keep using.
      Super good and chewy - elevated by the half browned butter and can see myself adding these cookies to ice cream or something.

      I’m glad they turned out so well! The butter paper is a great idea and I’ll have to try it next time I bake. Thank you again for commenting, and taking an interest in my video 😁

      Yes, the darker the sugar, the more molasses. More molasses makes the cookies chewier.

    Great effort seriously!! make sure to add your baking soda to your dry ingredients and sift them together it looks like it wasn't added or it was to little was added also less on the salt even with doubled recipes. again great job (baker 7 years)

    Also helps to chill dough before cooking = less spreading. But again thanks for sharing this experiment:)

    I had the weirdest impulse to add a shot of bourbon and a sprinkle of cinnamon into the one of the batches after watching this. I might try this tomorrow and let you know if it's dumb or not lol.

    I thought you was suppose to cool the brown butter before putting it in.. not a big fun of all the salt can that be cut some?

    • @danjseif
      @danjseif  Год назад

      You can definitely cut some salt! I’m just a big fan of salty foods, even with desserts. I’m not sure if cooling the brown butter would have changed anything. This was all an experiment and baking is definitely not my specialty 😅
