Hi Martyn, having a knit365 catch up. Isn't it so clever how they put all the advent s together. I've done an advent yarn swap with a fellow crafter in the States. It's a 4ply mind. Loving all the colours. Love, love your shirt!! I'm married to Scrooge. He doesn't get all the fun around Christmas. After almost 44 years together, he still moans when he has to get the tree, etc, out of the loft. Won't mention MJ, until the New Year. But he's been more than patient. I'm thinking of doing the Anthropology throw. I have lots of 4ply scraps and part balls, so like that idea. ( Yes talking myself into it! 😂) Have a fabulous advent. xxJane 🎄🌼
I’m doing a self stripping sock set for my husband too. The one I’m doing is a complete mystery-- Michele at Woolens and Nosh has two 50 gr cakes hiding in a Woolens and Nosh project bag-- so we have no idea every day what color is coming next. Starts tomorrow-- can’t wait to see your socks after Christmas-- I love the colors of yours. Happy Advent -- let the fun begin !!!!!!
I’m making a festive mystery cowl for myself, a mystery pair of color work mittens for my sister in law, a musselburgh hat for my uncle, a shawl out of my advents and a set of crochet amigurumi winter critters. There’s also a cross stitch ornament that’s a gift and a pair of socks that I would like to finish. I have been watching this channel enough that I believe I can complete anything that catches my eye.😂
Oh Martin -I love your videos - your excitement is infectious & you make me laugh….14 Wips - I bet there’s more 🤣🤣. Who cares. Enjoy all your wooly goodness x
LOVE the shirt! Definitely will be looking for one. Advents are so addictive! I got three this year - two yarnie ones and a stationery one. That is WAY too many and I'm only planning on knitting one, because there are numerous MKALs that are available. Can't wait to see all your great projects!!
Loved that. Your excitement was palpable! I have the Cornish Knitter’s Advent box - a weekly one and the plan is to start one of the four project suggestions as my Christmas Eve cast on. Think it involves zoom meetings too.
I decided to do the Hiberknitalong for the second time this year and selected the Boudoir Frost kit from Punk Rock Unicorn. No other advents for me, maybe next year.
Love the look of Raw Wool advent. Might need that next year. I have Fibre Fox and The lonely knitter daily advents and James makes yarn weekly in boucle.
Looking forward to seeing more of you throughout December Martyn. I have the Woodland Wonders sock and project bag Advent from lovely Ellie, Craft House Magic. 😊
I didn't want the pressure of an advent box so I did a solstice box (yarn and gifts) from Little Skein Anne. I am looking forward to opening it on the solstice. I am looking forward to your upcoming creative chaos. you are my holiday entertainment.
I originally only had the TOFT advent for this year and was hoping to get my hands on a spare from BlueFernYarns but didn't have the money when they went up for sale and sold out within 10mins. I have managed to get Kitey's 'that's so 80s' advent though which is proving super fun 😊
Clearing the needles is not going to happen here either. I am going to wind my Hiberknitalong yarn today (I’m watching this in bed at 7 am on Sunday-I was so exhausted and was looking forward to finally being able to sleep in and here I am awake at 7 am even though it will be dark until after 8 am as sunrise is 8:28 am. 🤦🏻♀️). I intend to work on Kermit the Shawl (Raingelt) this week and start the Hiberknitalong next week. I don’t think I can wait until Boxing Day. Looking forward to seeing Mark’s jumper in January. I have a Piet jumper by Johanna Gehrish to start in the new year.
Gosh you are high energy today! 😂😂 I can see your excitement is real! I love everything Yarn Badger so i am looking forward to seeing your socks grow in December 🎉🎉
I’m pretty sure the morning after party 1 you will be cleaning and getting ready for party 2, but if you’re really able to sit down and knit I applaud you!
Happy first of December, Martyn! Because I'm really not great at planning, it turns out, I have 2 daily advents (Butterflies & Botanicals and Dragonhoard Yarns/Yarn Cafe Creations) and 2 24-stripe sock advents (Freckled Whimsy and The Cozy Knitter) here with me. And then I have another daily (Schibot), and 2 weekly advents (De Draadzaak and Wollium), as well as two non-yarn Exit game ones that are... well, hopefully patiently waiting for me at my parents because they're there and I'm not LOL For now, I'll be working on the two 24-stripe socks. I alreay finished the toes (all four!) and am about to jump on the first stripes. And then I'm knitting a RADvent Cardigan with the Butterflies & Botanicals as that's a fade. I'm excited for your Vlogmas!
It would be fun if, every now and then, you included a snippet of video from Vlogmas Past, for a bit of Dickensian flavor. And of course, a few words in Welsh would be nice.
Thank you for the reminder! I need my Santa hat for an outdoor performance at a Christmas market tomorrow. WhatsApped my husband - watched the remainder of the vlog with it on. Nice and toasty! Edited to add: Toft's bag/advent themed, and their last collection with your bear had a camping theme. Do I sense a continuation of an idea?
I do love your enthusiasm Martyn! And all your Advent ideas are just wonderful! I know you wanted to do Stephen West shawls (just maybe not MKAL shawls) might I suggest Canal Rings or Painting Waves for your more natural wool….and did you see the Faded Undulation shawl? It would work beautifully for the fade…..Exploration Station is a really excellent choice as well! I have had 2 striped sock Advents for several years now. I work on one in the morning and one in the evening. I find it very enjoyable. (Well done you to do the cast on and cuff early! Sometimes I might do the first stripe as well 😂) Looking forward to sharing this wonderful time of the year with you as well!
This is so exciting Martyn. Wow, all your advents are going to be fun seeing. This year is the first time I have two wool advents ( bought throughout the year), a tea advent ( bought by my family) and I have made material advents for the guys and a Body Shop one for my daughter, oh and a jigsaw one for us all. So with vlog as and all this it is very exciting. Happy to see anything you upload. 🎄🎄
I got the raw wool box as well and I am so excited to see that you did. Anton is wonderful. I am thinking of doing vertices unite with that box!! I would love to see what you decide.
I’m doing my first ever Hiberknitalong which is also my first Stephen West pattern, my first big shawl, first time using a kit from their website and my first time using proper fluff. I am so excited but also really nervous too 🙈
No advents here. I can safely say that if you do not want to feeling eeek about your projects do not build a self colour highlighting, project tracking, data analysing spread sheet. I love that i can see how much of what i have made, and how many projects I have completed. The long lingering wips and bought the yarn not started yet projects are waaaaaay to judgy for my liking. Goal here is to wip down and reclaim needles though. So who knows if that will happen there is some yikes need to make something present making that was not on the original plan panic crafting going on. At least it will look good on the meterage tracker? With regards to the exploration station - watch how close the colours are. I have made two now and in both there are sections that lost the detail because the colours were too close in the yarn i chose. Love both of them despite this but it depends on the effect you are looking for.
Sadly I'm old enough to remember before Advent Calendars were a thing. Advent was always done by lighting a candle on the 4 Sundays before Christmas Day. I'd love to see a bit of Cardiff done up for Christmas, including the Castle. I haven't been there in years. Of course,, Caernarvon is the real capital of Wales lol.
I grew up with a candle that you lit, it burnt a section each day; as well as the 4 advent sunday candles. I, however, refuse to except that I am old and just blame this on religous practice of my parents. They'd still do the Advent sunday candles today if mum could source candles of the appropriate wax substance (not soy etc) more easily.
How exciting!! Only got one Advent this year and of COURSE it was from Canada and affected by the postal strike...so they sent it UPS..... I'm supposed get it Tuesday. 🙄
I have Jamesmakesyarn weekly and Toft. Going to use Jamesmakesyarn to make amigurumi, probably Jane from Toft as it's my namesake. Also got the deck the halls christmas cast on from little grey girl coming as well as Mystical Halloween coming and they will be used as Betwixmas projects.
I have been doing a self striping DK advent pair of socks. Love it. Exploration station gets to the second and third color fast. It would be good in muted colors. I did mine this past year in Wicked green!
I adore my daughter, grandteens and her husband and enjoy all his family, but must say that yesterday was a BIG rest day after all the driving and food and peopling. (US Thanksgiving) Oh, I've refrained from nagging but am very excited to see Mark's jumper get brought up from it's corner! :D But first, all the lovely advent projects! Yay.
Hi Martyn, that was so full of energy and fun. I'm making my own advent with sock yarn leftovers....its gonna make some very colourful socks as none of the scraps match at all so your Christmas sunglasses would be very handy to view them with 😂. Looking forward to Vlogmas xx
Looking forward to seeing your advents, I don’t have any but have lots of new sock yarn and lots I would like to finish and start over Christmas.looking forward to your vlogmas as always, ❤🧶 I like you am an Autumn/ Winter fan
Happy Vlogmas! My only goal this year is to actually start and finish my Toft advent. Still working on last year’s 🤦♀️. Clear the needles?! 2024 was going to be my year of the UFOs and WIPs, that didn’t happen.
So looking forward to seeing you and your advents, especially Toft. Maybe it's something like hansel and gretal or little red riding hood ? Enjoy all you do thank you. Sian from Wrexham 😊
Yeah Vlogmas!!! I’m in the US and have Woolens & Nosh and Murray Wool Goods sock advents, Shetland Hogmanay advent, Silly Sheep advent from Shetland, Birdstreet Yarn advent and Junction Fiber Mill Solstice Box. I went a bit crazy this year - but what a month of fun and surprises ahead!!!
I have Lay Family Yarn Eucalyptus minis to knit socks for advent - similar colours to your self stripe set - purples and greens. Looking forward to seeing you open all the calendar's.
Hi, I'm glad I found you again. For some reason my subscribing to you was unsubscribed. I hate when that happens. Well I'm back and resubscribed if that's a word.
Since you are feeling the need to cast something new one…why not find a ufo and finish it. Reduced your count and clears the needles. Can’t wait to see more of your Vlogmas.

Love that idea for trying to use an advent for a past Stephen West shawl!! 💕
Oh Martin -I love your videos - your excitement is infectious & you make me laugh….14 Wips - I bet there’s more 🤣🤣. Who cares. Enjoy all your wooly goodness x
I’d love to see the various places you drink coffee. Nothing cozier than a warm coffee and some yarn😊

No judgement- the more you start, the more eventually gets finished!
Love listening to you! Thanks for all your hard work. You two enjoy advent😊

I have Toft and a yarn advent from Truly Hooked this year, already have my project list for 2025 as it worked really well for me this year 😊

It's warm at Xmas time here in New Zealand and that picture on Gemma's box reminds me of Rarotonga.

I started a cardigan for my husband 15ish years ago. Every year, I think maybe I should finish it for Christmas & it never happens 😂
I will always watch. Love the shirt. S
I have Toft this year because I loved seeing you open your Toft advent last year. Plus a hotel chocolat one. Have vlogmasing!
So looking forward to seeing you and your advents, especially Toft. Maybe it's something like hansel and gretal or little red riding hood ? Enjoy all you do thank you. Sian from Wrexham 😊
I concur………always jam first !! You are going to be busy with all those lovely advents……enjoy !
Vlogmas-time is near 🎅🏻🧶 no Advents here, I’ve picked two WIPs from my pile instead 👏🏻

Happy Vlogmas!!! Ill be watching you open your treats and feeling the excitement through your fun reactions. Hello to Mark!
How exciting. Looking forward to the podcasts.
Would your Toft Advent be Christmas Gnomes? With all the “forest” clues? Can’t wait to see what it turns out to be.
I’m still waiting for my Little Grey Girl Advent to arrive… it was supposed to be delivered on Saturday… 😢😢😢
bless you ❤❤❤
Love the sock yarn & bag. I missed who the indie dyer was? Been trying to get a sock advent skein for years but never seem to see them come up. 😢
Just caught its the Yarn Badger
Your energy is contagious! Wow a wonderfully filled December. 🎉
No advents for me this year 😢

Interesting, I don't do advents at ALL! Can't stand mystery yarn colors at all. Never do knit alongs either. I want to KNOW what I am making.😅
January of which year???😂😂😂
