Hi, Amber! I love all the socks, also the Stephen West little scarf. Yes, I knitted a side-to-side sweater for a little stuffed hippo friend named Prsilla. I measured her arms and across her back. I used white wool fingering and an old French lace pattern. When we agreed I had it about right, I bound off loosely and then seamed only a bit up from the ribbing. She loves it! The resulting garment used to be called a shrug. It was made for babies and later for women going into a church or a restaurant chilled by the new-fangled AC. This was the '50's when full skirts with petticoats were popular, so the waist length was flattering.
Beautiful dress! I really appreciate the way you push ahead and creatively fix your oops. We all have them and sometimes it stops us from moving forward. Congratulations on your beautiful dress!
Thank you for the collection of knits using fingering weight yarn. I am preparing to go to Bible Study and we are doing Ephesians 3 and 4 today. Take care ❤😊
Such a lovely collection of knits. My favourite advent knit has been the Go Go Throw by Ambah O’Brien. I want to make it again but this time I will add an extra 20 stitches to make it a bit wider. I use this as a blanket and it’s lovely and light but warm.
First off, I am so happy your channel was recommended this morning. You are just a ray of sunshine! Okay now for the patterns you share. I love the Little Leftovers Cowl. I squealed, yes out loud, when I heard you say Jamie Lomax, and then a second time to boot! I've made the hat she designed and is fun to knit. I get so many compliments every time i wear it. I made mine in a creamy Off White, Purple, and Orange. I met her last Saturday at my LYS (apple yarns in Bellingham) and got my Doodle Directory book signed by her. I was also blessed she agreed to take a photo with me. I have enjoyed her designs since she came on tbe scene and have several of her Doodle Decks (good for more than just knitting) and now her very first book! She is an absolute delight as a person, too. I will be hard pressed to choose only one of these patterns. I shall access the bundle and mark each as a favorite for when i need inspo as to what to knit next. I am still gift crafting and then i have three commissioned projects to get on. One is a hat the other two are knit infinity scarves. I have knit side to side sweater called Baby Novus Sweater. The Novus Construction was inventes by Laura Nelkin of Nelkin Designs. It's a bit tricky to learn yet when you get it you have it. She has wonderful video tutorials included in her patterns and on her Channel here.
Wow. So many choices! This is my first December as a knitter and my first advent yarn. I’m excited to work with it. I think that star blanket is the one that appeals to me. I still have socks to knit for Christmas gifts. So my adventure knitting may be a new year thing.
Hello! I love these pattern episodes. My absolute favorite advent pattern is the Little Gemstones - I want to go upstairs and find a bunch of tonals right now, in fact. 🥳 (I hope I got the name right.). How pretty!
I loved the Brioche Shawl and thought it'd be a lovely project but then you showed the Little Gemstones shawl and I'm smitten 😍. Thank you for all the lovely suggestions 😊
Those painted waves socks are stunning! I would love to make some in those autumnal colors. Thanks so much for your podcast. I love your aesthetic and aura of healthy, balanced living. You are a bright light in a troubled world.
My favorite advent or scrappy project shown is the Saw Tooth Sock pattern. I would love to knit that one for sure!! Thank you for your video.... So many advent ideas!!!
Thank you for all the time you take to find different patterns to use advent yarns or just all those extras that we have around. I would never have thought about the Beth McDonald Stone pattern - but this may be ‘the one’ this year ❤
Thanks for sharing these colourful patterns. Some of the shawls were particularly beautiful. I don't participate in the "yarny advent calendar' events but I *do* have a lot of scrap fingering-weight yarns. I've got a mitred square blanket that's a perpetual WIP, and I've made *lots* of baby/toddler socks for the grandchildren of friends, but one of my favourite scrappy fingering weight projects is the "LOSY Hat" (Left Over Sock Yarn) -- a free pattern in an easy k3, p1 rib that uses 2 strands held together. For my first one I used 2 strands in 2 shades of blue, so it came out rather like a marled blue. For the one I'm making now, I'm using 2 strands of assorted self striping/variegated yarn and this is more fun! Another option is the Mash It Up hat, which calls for several solid colours, knit in plain stockinette in the round. The pattern has them running together in a melding of yarns between solid bands of colour. I find both to be fast knits on 4 mm needles (US 6) or 4.5 mm needles (US 7) and it's fun to see how the colours play together. Both are free patterns on Ravelry. LOSY: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/losy-hat and Mash It Up: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mash-it-up Enjoy! 🙂
I loved this episode! So many patterns that I like. Home for the Holidays hat looks fun and quick! Thank you Amber for your hard work on this great episode,
It's so hard to choose which of these patterns to knit! They all look so fun! I think though, since I'm a shawl kind of person, I would start off with Little Leftovers. It's so elegant! Happy Holidays ❤
