The CD rotation was a lot of punk/hardcore/pop-punk: Rancid, Against It All, Fishbone, Bad Religion, Blue Meanies, etc... but, I distinctly remember hearing Santa Monica- several of us kinda made eye contact and made the "huh? What's this?" face. 😏 Good times, better friends, and some of the best music, came outta that time period (93' - 98').

Loved their sound since I first heard 'em (in Jr. High, with Undertow- went out and bought it immediately), their time sigs and changes, the lyrics... and, of course, as a drummer: Mr. Carey 😳🤯 One of those band's that I can listen to any/all albums, and it never gets old to me.
The sound of those drums is aural poetry! Crisp yet richly resonating tonality. Like a fresh, creamy cheesecake on a crunchy biscuit base 😂. Beautiful!
