It's in Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide, also known as the civilian handbook etc. in World War Z, as well. The guide also points out that the sharkmail, although technically "bite proof," isn't crush proof, and fluids containing the virus can still get in the face if not covered. Plus, a hoard of Zacks can easily pull someone apart.
THAT all said, it's still extremely light and there's no real reason NOT to use it. Heckuva lot better than some football gear. Knowing the pros and cons of your equipment can help prevent you from taking unnecessary risks or from feeling indiestrucktibble.

A zombie outbreak in Japan would probably be the least severe of all.
The zombie's instinct to go to work and do their jobs, would overpower their hunger.
Just avoid the business districts and you'll be relatively safe.
I imagine zombies meandering around office buildings, gathering in conference rooms, then the restrooms and finally sitting at their desks as night falls, then repeating the routine the next day.
And then there's the zombie schoolkids, sitting attentively in class, as the zombie teacher keeps erasing the board, over and over again.

After watching it, I am very glad I gave it a chance. Even though it was very weird and silly….It had an original storyline, and I actually enjoyed it! Good choice and keep up your hard work!

the "special diving suit" isn't actually a bad idea. they make chain mail wetsuits designed to protect from shark bites. titanium, i believe. humans simply don't have the bite power to get through it.
Yep, that was literally his idea. No one can hurt him through it (I say no one since the odds are he's fighting zombies and not humans, effectively no one)
As someone who is in Tokyo, almost all of those places are real places with their real names, usually in movies they might change the name of a shop or something but here looks like they just kept them.
The supermarket in the middle of the movie, Don Quijote, is a real thing and spotting that sleepy penguin means that you spotted the one stop shop for everything you can imagine for daily needs.

I did a Japanese exchange program when I was young, and I never saw anyone playing football over there. None of them even talked about it. There may be some people who try to play, but it's definitely not popular enough where you'd have official school teams and big games. Not sure why this movie shows American football as if it's a prominent sport.
It's called Amefuto (shortened from American Football, because Japanese likes shortening words) in Japan. Some schools/college do have it as extracurricular/club activity. They even have national championship for college level teams, from back in 70s to this day and still ongoing. Granted, it's not as popular in Japan as baseball, but it's still exist. Try searching for Koshien Bowl or Rice Bowl.
For comparison, it's like soccer in America. The sport exist and played in the country, but not talked about as much as, let's say, football, baseball, or basketball.

After doing some digging, this is actually based off of a Manga! "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead" is written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata and it has 15 volumes so far. The Live Action is the recent adaptation of it!
