Every single person this man talked to ended up dying by the zombies. Every glimmer of hope immediately snuffed out. I don't know if I could take that sort of pressure.
13:32 not the infection. You misinterpreted that. It was from the gunshot he inflicted on himself. It is why he stayed okay till the end. If he was wounded there was no way filmmaker would not show some hint of slowly developing infection at the end, as is customary with such stories.
Just like my brother with a mustache said, this is a much more realistic and dystopian look at a zombie outbreak than most movies, where plot armor is almost nonexistent. You were lucky once, but unlucky at the same time. What is blocking you is keeping you alive.
Let’s be honest though, in a situation like that being alone is smart in the short-run but in the long-run it is not. Humans are social creatures we need others to interact with and function properly. I’d admit at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse I would want to be alone at first to ensure my survival but after a while I would go out and help out survivors since there’s no reason to be alive if you’re alone in this world.
@@jaasonmiller as long as ive got entertainment i dont need social interaction, also thats just your opinion being alone doesnt mean there isnt a reason to be alive. im living for myself.
@@internetspectator6051 yea but that only goes so far. It varies with everyone. You can be ok for 1 year, 2 years, 3, perhaps 4. @@internetspectator6051 not to mention that without anyone in the world, that entertainment will soon go away as well. I like the setting of this scenario since not everyone will be in a good place when the zombie apocalypse happens like in a classroom or a Walmart restroom with a creaky door. This makes it a bit more realistic.
He's the reason why everyone is dying smh kept kallin his wife while she's trying to hide, kallin the maintenance man, distracting his co-workers from escaping with their lives! Goodness gracious enough
Yes, he shouldn't have called so much. But he is locked in the elevator and can't do *anything* except calling people and worrying. It's hard not to call.
I like the symbolism in this movie, everything that Claudio values in his life becomes meaningless as the situation gets worse. Some examples are him using his paperwork to cover up the blood or throwing his luxuray watch to distract the zombies.
I see a lot of people talking about infected blood going in his eyes and mouth and all, but people, do remember that every zombie scenario isn't the same, and that not all infections are like 28 Days Later. If you want to point out some bullshit, the Tourniquet is enough, the man had it on for many hours and his leg was perfectly fine, while a tourniquet does stop a wound from bleeding on extremities, it also stop the blood flow all together, which is why it is always a last solution to use, 'cause you can lose a leg or an arm like that
I agree, I think that this infection is different. Marcello got bit and had time to chat with Claudio for a whole, fall asleep, before he turned. I want to say that the infection probably doesn't happen fast or maybe some people might not be affected by it until much later. Kind of like how a cold might not become serious until days later and affects people differently.
@@Rakerong he was talking about the leg being normal after the blood flow got cut. It would take just a little time for him to stop feeling his leg and thus being unable to use it Edit: also, his wound is from the gun

I agree 100% Once there was a very small earthquake here in Baltimore and I tried to call home and could not get through. I tried to call home dozens of times, but not one single call went through until everything calm down.
Elevator doors have no handles though. There's nothing that will let's you have a strong enough grip to pull it closed, considering how much strength he needed to pull it open
The people running these associated channels have made my days better. I really enjoy watching these, and personally, for the Movie Recaps channel specifically, I would hope and prefer that this robotic voice and soft, somber music is kept, it really goes well for this channel's recaps.
Ok so was this guy in danger at any point of the movie? They couldn’t get in…period. Why do you think people were trying to get in there with him. Once I realized they couldn’t get in and I could bash there heads with the pipe would have been ok.
What I don't get is, why the fuck would you want to get in if you know you can get in.. That means zombies can get in too, and if they start piling up at the doors you're just screwed
well they don't show it but think about the number of times you need to use the restroom in one day. if you don't have a good place to do that, you'll not want to stay in the elevator either. and then in 24-48 hours, you'd be really hungry and thirsty, so that alone will make you need to find a way out. So yea, like many people said, the elevator keeps him safe but it's also going to kill him, if he can't get out.
@@birdyya6147 are you serious. Zombies everywhere. Games have zombies, hundreds of zombie movies, lots of comics and manga with zombies . Even superhero series have zombie. It's getting boring

You gotta wonder how tight that tourniquet must’ve been to be able to completely stop the virus from getting past his leg. It’s a given that after a while the tourniquet would cause his leg to slowly die (assuming it stopped the blood flow) and thus he wouldn’t be able to walk. Often times a tourniquet has to be released periodically to minimize blood loss but also let the limb survive.
Yeah. That certainly gives the audience some conflict connecting with him, but it's an interesting choice, at least he wasn't a Mary Sue. He was petty, weak, narcissistic, but that makes his survival more interesting, because he got saved by a damn broken elevator. That's just my opinion though @LooseCo.
Still, I do want to know if it was a gunshot wound or a bullet wound, guessing he got bit, if so he dies anyway and infects more people unfortunately. In a scenario with zombies, it would probably be wise to avoid the military, they would probably shoot on sight. Mabye at the VERY beginning they would try to save people though.
@@eobardthawn6903 I think it was a gunshot wound. Only Marcelo could have bitten him and he wasn’t near his leg when he had finally turned. Plus he shot once before the shot that blew Marcelo back. @@shivaramb844 why doesn't the movie recap guy at least put the title of the movie in his description. He's already stealing money from the makers by telling the whole movie. At least give them recognition
Idk what I would do in that situation. On the one hand, I'd be mostly unarmed, alone, with no resources and no way to help anyone. I'd want to get out, find a weapon, and try to get somewhere safe I can use as a base of operations (as in somewhere safe I can sleep and store my stuff, but also able to safely enter and leave) then start collecting food, weapons, medical stuff, etc. But right then, that elevator would be the safest place for miles around. The moment he managed to free himself though, it'd become the worst place in the city. It'd instantly turn from a safe sanctuary, to a dead end. He'd need to be absolutely certain that as soon as he leaves that elevator, he knows exactly where to go next, and what to do, but there's no way he could. He's just a suit, not a doomsday pepper or a gamer, and he can't even go home because he knows home isn't safe. The elevator isn't safe, but as every person that tried to help him proved, neither is anywhere else
I honestly would've liked it more. Clear evidence of an actual problem, so people wouldn't bitch around about there not being a pandemic, and a clear and simple solution, it being a gunshot to the head, to the infection.
*the fourth wall is then broken, as the narrator starts talking to the man while hes trapped in the elevator, but is then interrupted when a zombie attacks the narrarator and the call drops*
you have a hand rail and a big aluminum elevator door, yet you tried to throw your watch at the zombie to distract them, instead of just making loud noise by hitting the handrail on the elevator door.
It's impressive of how a disgusting man became so much sympathetic, being so much apathetic to anything and everything, harassing a co-worker for fun and cheating on his devoted wife. But when shit hit's the fan and people started dying in droves his demeanor changes completely. Frantically calling his wife in desperation when seeing the monsters that are possibly threatening her and crying in complete despair when he thinks she is dead, trying to constantly help his co-workers, even when stuck in a very much fucked situation on that elevator while grieving when their death's come, and even feeling genuine guilt when killing them even if they were infected is a complete 180 from his old self. I can say this is one of those movies where they genuinely made a character development believable, and i in half-way in the movie not just started feeling sorry for the man, but even rooting for him, when in the beginning of the movie i only hoped he would die painfully. That's good writing there folks.
I still waited for his de_th in the end. Being disturbed by coworkers sudden deat-hs is rather normal and he mainly did the rest out of emotional self care and basic common sense not because he became compassionate. Dude fr needed another man to talk to him in a near de_th situation on top of that to realize his actions are gross.
I thought it was a clever idea to make it dramatic and action-packed on the cheap. Easy post-filming cleaning, limited props and locations (that will get ruined), as many or little actors you can get (same goes for talent) and due to poor prospects of survivability a lot of things has to happen in a short amount of time.
No he accidentally shoots himself, and he fell asleep so he should've turned and even if he didn't he should've turned on his way out, the soldier he killed turned after he fell asleep so it doesn't take that long to change into a zombie.
10:53 Words like “they aren’t ppl they are _infected_ “ is a very… dangerous way of thinking :-) Albeit being called “infected” in these cases are same as calling someone a “magical zombie beast that doesn’t rly exist”.

@@LiveYourLifeWithJoy I was addressing the material objects he placed above his personal relationships.

But right then, that elevator would be the safest place for miles around. The moment he managed to free himself though, it'd become the worst place in the city. It'd instantly turn from a safe sanctuary, to a dead end.
