Just a comment, the animal on the Tassie flag you've put is the Tiger (Thylacine) believed to be extinct. Not the Tasmanian devil. Still a good choice for the flag for Tasmania
These look awesome! I like the common theme that most of them shared and the curves in the flags’ designs. I can’t think of one off the top of my head that uses curves like that and though I’ve never been there, I think it feels Australian.
sorry to nit pic, but at 2:30 you got a tasmanian tiger up. they went extinct in 1936. it's still a really good thing to have on the flag, to commemorate the animal. but it's not the Tasmanian devil.
To be honest, the wavyness makes the flags too modern and corporate like, whilst the traditional straight lines reflect the very old nature of the country.
@@morriskaller3549 Yeah, federation was in 1901 but Australia was founded in 1788 while the native Aboriginal people have been living here for around 60,000 years. It just doesn't feel right for the flag to look too modern like it was designed for a company.
The reason the flags look like that is that they're all parts of a whole (see the design similarities) and that they are derived from the British Colonial Flags. I personally like the real flags
The current ones are dull and not as distinctive as one might hope. Plus I love how the redesigns incorporate traditional art. Imo it elevates the flags and make them more specific (to Australia and her history)
Which one was your favorite? And which one should we do next? Canada? France? Mexico? England?
My favorite one was definitely Western Australia. For the next one I would like to see redesigns for Mexico's state flags.
Liberia
I'd love to see Canadian flags next
As a proud Australian, I congratulate you on your redesigns of our state flags, they look absolutely amazing.

0:20 Hey, you showed my Australia redesign! (Top row, second from the left.)

I hope you realise the Tasmanian devil and thylacine (commonly know as Tasmanian Tiger) are very different animals, still great flag designs though
Frick this looks fanTASTIC. As a Queenslander myself, I fricken adore these renditions
Jervis Bay is *gorgeous*! Heck, the fact you recognize that territory even exists is amazing. Most Aussies haven't heard of it!
to be fair, Jervis Bay is technically apart of the ACT, not its own territory
@@hashimakennels5645 Not exactly. It is legally its own territory, but the laws of the ACT apply, which leads to a lot of confusion.
damn you should look for a Australia Gov job, they all look great. Mostly all the australian flags lacks identity
Great video. The redesigns look amazing. They would definitely make great state flags.

That’s a fair point for sure, maybe we keep the designs and straighten the lines, not sure how that looks 🤔
"very old nature of the country" bruh modern day Australia is one of the youngest nations in the world

This video is amazing and it deserves more likes
Why is one the Solomon Islands basically?
Damn was skeptical going in but as a new south welshman I'm a big fan. Got a new sub mate.
Honestly just make the Queensland flag entirely Maroon; they will lap it up
So just like the old Gaddafi Libyan flag but instead of Green make it all just an empty maroon banner
@@councilofknowledge yep. You underestimated how much those half-floridian fucks love their maroon lol
the waveyness loks so nice!
Great flags. I liked many of your US state flags, but these AU ones are awesome. (AUsome?)
My favourites: Queensland and Victoria.

@@DB-me7ol to each their own opinion, but I personally like how the real ones all fit together to kinda form the national flag
@@metalsonic17 That's what happens when you use the exact same template and only alter the seals.
@@matthewmazzatto8003 that is correct. But it isn't a problem in my opinion that this was done
i love south australia definitely NO BIAS, oh and im from south australia
No
This should be our state flag in my opinion the best redesigns for the flags
