😂 LOL My mom loves charm and so does my sister they were obsessed with it and they watched it every day so yeah I wasn’t really a big fan of it growing up and I didn’t watch it that much and I only watch cartoons which were pretty funny,😂😂😂😂😅😂😂😂😂
It was one of the shows that actively mixed adult life with actual real female protagonist that dealt with realistic dilemmas like death, juggling responsibilities, why they have to keep it a secret, and etc. and they were all individual cool and characters that you felt for. They helped bring the idea of magic cooler again. And usually magic was portrayed as silly more than serious, this was the reverse and opposite. It was new at the time.
It was beautifully done which is why its still loved today...What an awesome show, kept me strong through my grief...

@@beelee88 sure... But again once the lead actresses basically took over the control of the show it got really bad. Also the leads got very toxic & down right evil in final seasons
Because it was a show about theee adult independent women, who always looked beautiful and dressed in trendy cute clothes ,were confident with their sexuality,and were successful in their dream careers , while balancing family and relationships and also kicking demon asses. It was quite an inspirational thing for women viewers in the 2000's, specially given that they were actual adult women, not teens and it was shown that it was fine to be 30 and not have kids or being married yet, that you could still wear cute youthful clothes past 35 and being a mother, or that it is ok to be a little lost in your early 20's and find your vocation later like phoebe did.
I wish more shows were like this. Charmed was great for this reason!

I honestly think it was the female casting dynamic that made it so appealing, adding to the fact that they had powers. Contrary to the reboot these are actual women not teenagers (which makes it feel more serious and less like a Disney Channel series) plus these women actually could be sisters, they didn’t look cast to fill out a TV racial quota.
@@MrBurkistan Ι enjoyed pipers romance with the korean ghost.. And of course their best friend cop Darryl who was black. The show was focused on family not race or feminism, and that's the best part. Sort of like Buffy the vampire slayer. Yes, she is a woman. Yes, she's the chosen one, but she had realistic struggles as well

The episode "The body" was so well directed and acted.. The way buffy is a wreck after losing her mother (not from a monster but from life) is heartbreaking, because buffy did come back to life once, but she cant beat death no matter how hard she fights. I cried for this episode

"Girls will rearrange their entire life to avoid another person" Hey look, as someone who is currently trying to figure out how to go to my HS reunion and avoid 4 people I had prior beef with, I didn't need to be called out like this. I came to have a good time.
Honestly? As the outcast who probably only has 3 people to look forward to actually seeing at their HS reunions (with the rest of it being avoiding them saying, “oh, don’t you remember all the fun times we had?” When all I can remember is them stealing my school supplies, cornering me on the way to the bus, and eventually isolating me from my peers and teachers) there’s really only two viable options: you can either go, flaunt your stuff, and enjoy everything you can with wanton disregard, or you can choose to not attend to save yourself the trouble. Trying to actively avoid certain people is just exhausting and makes a lot of unnecessary trouble for you, when in all reality their nostalgia goggles probably have them convinced you’ve always been best friends.
Now, thankfully in my case our class head was in Africa for our 5 year and didn’t arrange it, so now I have another 4 years to decide if I want to flaunt my stuff or ignore the call for the 10 year event, but still ;u; best case scenario, I’ll be in Japan for it so I won’t have to weigh the options.

I also talk to the high school teachers I got along well with. That's the benefit of knowing alot of people. There are many places I can walk into, and know most of the people there.

How was the pilot bad, I thought the show was at its absolute best in the first few seasons then the writing started becoming more inconsistent and far fetched as the show progressed.

I used to be obsessed with Charmed! I would watch it everyday with my grandma. I even made their house on The Sims 2. To this day, I have never had another family on The Sims last that many generations lol.

Charmed is one of the only shows I can watch over and over. Its 8 seasons long, but believe me its worth it to watch it all.

Hailie Macholl i'd much rather watch the original Charmed than the crappy 2018 remake, the Power of Three will set us free! Or maybe it's the Power of Four Forevermore because of Prue, piper, Phoebe, and Paige! I recently watched the Ten-part Charmed Manic Episodes playlist, and even though I didn't totally agree with everything she said since she was making fun of my favorite show, certain parts were absolutely hilarious! In fact, I'd take that stellar playlist over this video, although I can't wait to see what you thought of the atrocious 2018 remake, Alex.
Molly Pop completely agree about season 4. I don’t dislike Paige (when I first started watching I actually didn’t know there was a Prue! And when I did finally see episodes with Prue I HATED her. But that changed) but the first few seasons are very....”realistically witchy” where as the last seasons when Paige comes in starts to get kind of “cartoony” if that makes sense. The seasons with Prue just have a more pure feeling for me.

I know this is an old video but I think the story truly deteriorated when Prue died. Just my opinion.
Back during the original nineties run, someone asked me what TV shows I liked to watch. I said "I like that one about the three sisters with names all starting with the same letter who live together in a big house and use their supernatural abilities to fight bad guys".
They said, "Oh, you mean 'Charmed'?"
I said, "Yeah, I guess that works too. But I was talking about the Powerpuff Girls."
I still think that Pheobe’s and Balthazor’s/Cole’s relationship was one of the best in TV

Morgan O'Brien-Bledsoe Balthazar wasn’t abusive towards Pheobe, he actually tried to be good despite his evil nature. I like the fact, however, that he was bad overall, just good to her

So I'm inclined to agree with the OP. When it was good, it was good. When it was bad, it was bad. It was a real and powerful dynamic. Imo the only one of the kind the show managed to portray.

This is how female characters should be written. They weren't all powerful at the beginning, they had strength but they also had flaws. They used their brains as much as their "charms" to deal with problems and they weren't afraid to show weakness. That's why this show is a guilty pleasure for me to watch; and I won't lie, they were attractive.
my favorite thing for me was that they were like tough Independent Women without having to say it. They just live their lives it was like Xena in a way you know? I was four years old when the show started and I looked up to all those characters you know and they made me want to be more like that. But these new ones it was like they have to say shit every 2 seconds that women are top and women need this and that and this and that. If you're tough you don't need to talk about it.
I like that in the show they were not slut shamed. I have always feel bad about how society treated female sexuality & this show was different

Charmed was maybe the only happy memory I have of my childhood, it was the only time me and my mother would come together due to our mutual love and investment in this show. I influenced me so much in ways I probably don’t even realise, charmed was one of the best TV shows ever created along with Gilmore girls and there’s no doubt about it

When I went to the rescue shelter to adopt a dog in 2011, we had one in mind we'd see on their website. A 2 month old black lab puppy. Turns out, she was one of three sister puppies.
I swear, I tried with all my might to adopt all three but my ex just was not hearing it. Anyways, they were named Piper, Phoebe, and Paige. We didn't initially plan to keep her name, but it just fit her so well. My beautiful Piper just turned 10 last month.
I loved Charmed because it was about sisters who happened to be magical. They knew and understood and supported each other and argued with one another in a way that only siblings can. They are your first lifelong companion. But when Shannon left there was a hole that was brilliantly filled by Rose and how the magical bond was enhanced by them being sister.

Charmed was really one of the best supernatural shows of all time...It was something special...It had great chemistry,great storylines,the women were strong and beautiful...Its strength lied in the idea of being sisters that were witches and not witches who were sisters...😍A cult classic .It was beautifully done which is why its still loved today...What an awesome show, kept me strong through my grief and they were my family when no one else was...Prue,Piper, Phoebe, and Paige are my only Charmed ones...

I was born during an original airing of an episode of Charmed. My mom had it playing on her hospital TV. "Be Careful What You Witch For", the season 2 finale. 17 years later, I gave birth to my own child while watching the very same episode on Netflix on my own delivery room TV, and it was completely by accident. I had just picked up where I left off at home, and 5 episodes later, "Be Careful What You Witch For" was on and my son was born.
Charmed is a staple in my family. When season 8 ends, season 1 starts again. We have the entire DVD collection, as well as watching the series on Peacock. I'm even saving up to get myself a complete Book of Shadows replica.
I watched it everyday after school, even created my own book of Shadows😂😂 aaand I loved Leo😂 don't you dare take me my fond childhood memories of Charmed, Alex😉

It had all the ingredients that made a successful drama sitcom back in the 90s. Tons of attractive young people, mystery, chemistry, good enough writing, music, and a splash of comedy.
Man, I love my generation.
Discovered Charmed when I was about 11 and it took over my teenage years, I was obsessed, rewatched every episode until I knew every plot and season arc like the back of my hand. As I approach 30, I look back now at the show as a very inconsistent soap opera with questionable effects thrown in Haha yet it had heart and a warm family quality. The early years were pretty okay but when the creator Constance M Burge left, the show really became AWFUL and made the character insufferable. They reduced Phoebe to a selfless child obsessed harpies and Piper to a dull clinically depressed moaner. Strangely though, I still feel very attached to the show and often look up what the actors are doing.
I think that the original was better than the remake but it's only my opinion 😁
Maybe that is why the CBS wanted your video down. So people would forget about the old and just watch the new show
The new one is equally as bad as everything in riverdale. Acting, dialogue is soo awful

abandon hope all ye who enter here Riverdale’s dialogue is 100x more awkward than Charmed19, the reboots biggest issue is the central villain sucks and everything is weirdly power scaled like early supernatural. He’s a demon than can melt anything it looks at imma stab it with a knife

Charmed will always be in my top 3 shows, I don’t think I would be the woman I am today without it. It taught me a lot, it was well written, everything is awesome. The only thing lacking is the lack of diversity.
The final episode of season 3 broke my heart.
Alot of dark stuff happened there than anything in the entire show,
And the episode changed the rest of the show forever.
Speaking as a girl I very much prefer the one-and-done method of punching each other until you're not angry anymore but everyone seems to think that means I have "aggression problems" and "can't communicate my feelings"

i only started watching charmed this yr but here’s why i loved it: all-female cast w/ smart women who kick ass, the actresses (alyssa, shannen, holly, and rose were the kinds of actresses that were sooo 😍😍😍 that i convinced myself to keep watching charmed bec of them), the simple plot that in every episode they always end up resolving things (escapist fantasy?), they are hot 🥵 and they’re lowkey my fitspo 💩, the characters are in their mid-20s, wc is the age that i’m currently in, and i just felt like i found a show that i can somehow relate.

I’ve been watching Charmed since I was in the womb. TNT still airs it every weekday, early in the morning, just like they’ve done for the past two decades. I watch it every day, it’s been part of my life and childhood, and I just honestly love it. It’s something I’ve watched with my mom- it can still make me laugh and cry, even if I know every single episode 🤣 💕
It was actually well done and the music + sounds effects were...charming.
It was a special show, no doubt. I was a kid when it ran on tv and trust me, that was the only thing that I could follow literally from the beginning to the very last minute (apart from Adventures of the Gummi Bears, but that's just a masterpiece so who couldn't?) I had very little attention span or wasn't simply interested in cartoons, tales, series, and stuff. I got bored quickly sitting and watching sth longer than 15 minutes and went on with the fabulous stories in my head.

im inlove with this show! i remember when i was a kid feeling excited everyday to wake up bcos i get to watch it and everytime an episode ended, i just wished a day would go by so quickly so i could watch it again tomorrow. and now im already 25 im watching the reruns on TV every night and it brings so many memories and nostalgia. (PS i like the first 4 seasons more when prue was still alive. i was bitter the rest of the show after prue died lol)
The old show is what I livED FOR as a child I still watch it when I have nothing to watch. I love this show and I hate the remake.

Charmed was so popular in 1998 because it was a product of its' time. In 1998, The Spice Girls were extremely popular. The UK and America, along with Australia; were whipped up into a "Girl Power" frenzy. Look at the most popular shows between 1995-2005. Charmed. Sex and The City. Sabrina: The Teenage Witch and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. All products of 'girl power'.

I started binging on it about 2 yrs ago and finished watching it last year. There was a lot of eps I hadn't seen or had forgotten. As I had gotten older I guess I wasn't watching it as much towards the end when it aired originally. When it came out though I was the right age for it, 13.
This made me nostalgic... I think I'm going to binge watch this show this weekend lol
