Deep Sea Fishing in Florida for HUGE FISH!!! Lost Diver rescue and mystery fish? | The Fish Locker

- I have always dreamed about fishing offshore in the Florida Keys for the monster fish that live there. Tuna, Goliath Groupers, Amberjacks, Bonita and Sharks!!! Just my type of adrenaline fuelled fishing!!! So for our wedding anniversary I took Mrs FishLocker on a 1/2 day deep sea fishing trip with Captain Chris from @TwoConchsSportfishing. As an incredible stroke of fate, on the steam out to our first wreck at around 15 miles from land I spotted a diver in distress on the surface. I notified the skipper and we quickly found out that he had not only lost his diving buddy but also both had lost their dive boat. We quickly brought him aboard our boat and located his brother ( the other diver ) and their dive boat which was almost a MILE AWAY?! I cannot stress enough how lucky these guys were. If I had not seen them they would never have been seen again!!!! The fishing was great fun with proper hard fighting sport on the light 50 gram gear and a stunning day on the ocean. We cannot wait to return for the one that got away!!!!

You are a lucky man to have a lovely wife who is ok with your fishing for long hours. I have had such a wife as well. A wife for over fifty years still going strong. In my younger days, I did much the same as you, going out to sea for days at a time but never more than two or three days. I lived very close to Cape Cod so the fishing was very good. She also liked the fresh catch of whatever I came home with. I enjoy your stories and fishing videos. Little James is a hoot. Love to see families enjoying each other's company. God Bless.

I lived in Florida 30 plus years. I am happy to see the ecology rebounding. I and my late wife did not celebrate our anniversary in the Keys. But we snorkeled and dived all over the Keys. I wish I could get my missus out fishing on our anniversary. Well done on the fishing. Getting the monstrous ones up from the deep is always going to be tough. I used to catch those bonitos/bonita off of West Africa on our seismic survey jobs and I knew them as little tunny. Always thought they smelt a bit too fishy even straight after they were landed, but the Filipino crew used to love them. Double well done on spotting the diver and curses on the dive boat who should have called the coastguard.
Haha. I’ve never caught a fish yet that the Philippinos onboard didn’t want to eat!! 🤣😉
What a fantastic day you both had, and well done spotting that diver, he must have feared the worst. First drop into fish and more after more. Those fish you lost must of had your muscles burning not to mention your back. Lovely way to end the day, a kiss and a cuddle with Hannah. A very happy anniversary to you both. Great reat viewing.

This is why folks keep asking me why I’m always looking around. You need to have your head on a swivel when at sea. Proper situational awareness.

It's amazing just how much punishment the rods re these days. Back in my days that rod would have broken for sure, but all that aside I thought both you & Hannah had a good day of fishing. Has your back recovered yet? What good spotting by the way, you certainly saved the lives of a couple of very fortunate divers who will forever be in your debt. I am so happy you two had that experience. Charter fishing in The Keys can be addicting though! There are so many species to go target, so many different boats, and so many different locations.

John Im almost convinced that rod tip was past 180% at one point on that Dew fish. The rod just didnt quite have enough grunt, but man it was close. Imagine landing that? that would have been biblical. Still a great video

Happy anniversary John and Hannah, its great to see another romantic angler, I took my better half to Cuba as a birthday treat earlier this year and enjoyed some good fishing, then to Jersey last month and managed to slip a travel rod into the case. She doesn't fish, but luckily, is very indulgent towards my "other passion".
Dived whilst in Cuba and when we surfaced in choppy seas there was no sign of the boat. We bobbed about for some 15 minutes before being picked up, which was a little scary. Those guys were so very lucky that you spotted one of them.

What a crazy day out! Definitely saved that divers life! That is honestly my biggest fear, being lost at sea like that! Well done guys! What rod were you using there John? I cant believe that blank held up to that pressure, the amount of times you hear people saying "the rod was bent double" and it rarely is, but yours was literally tip to butt! Brilliant angling as always! Shame you didnt have wire traces, would have loves to see what was biting you off! All the best 🎣🎣🎣

@@TheFishLocker my whole family were RN, both my parents, both grandfathers, one great grandfather, 3 uncles! My great grandfather was a long liner off beesands before ww1, we have saltwater in our veins! I grew up with the five minute early rule and it’s ingrained in me😆
