I thought I subbed but your channel it just popped up again… so am subbed now 😃 I am old but very involved with horses when 16, horse spooked, fell down into a canal, I was injured enough I never rode again, but horse was fine. I then switched to dog training… this was back before positive training. I clearly remember when I made the switch to positive. I got a book called Play Training Your Dog. Other trainers at the time thought I was absolutely nuts to stop using chain choke collars. I learned clicker maybe 20 years ago, never looked back. Have you read anything by Karen Pryor? She brought clicker from dolphins to dog training. Her book Don’t Shoot The Dog is about general positive reinforcement… not just with dogs. I love her book Reaching the Animal Mind. It’s about positive training of many species. If you have not read these, you might enjoy them.
It was good I switched to dog training, as I have trained all my dogs in the last 25 years to help me as my old injuries affect me more. I love using clicker to teach my dogs service dog work and tasks. I have wondered why so few use positive with horses.
It’s really amazing how are experiences get us to where we are! And it’s always lovely when those experiences can really help you build on your next step! No information is wasted for me. I appreciate you watching 😊
@@henriettathemustang I didn’t mean to imply you “ needed” to read these 🤦🏼♀️ Just simply you might enjoy Karen’s work if you have not read her. She really was a pioneer of positive training in dogs.

Do you have any vets in your area with a portable ultrasound? They are quite reliable, and she wouldn't have to be hauled somewhere to find out if she's pregnant. ❤
At the time I didn’t think the experience and cost would be “worth it” - if she was pregnant, she’d eventually give birth. If she wasn’t, she eventually wouldn’t, haha! I didn’t think she was at a point in her training to have an ultrasound done without stressing her out.

Was she pregnant? I feel like mustangs can get this hay belly look sometimes and it's tricky to tell if they are pregnant or not.
At this point still no clue - I agree about the hay belly and with her being so pony size I couldnt tell if I was making it up in my head!
