Except it is not a feather boa.
It's a collar of Red Feathers that represent Flowing Blood as from a slaughtered animal.
The ancient South American civilisations Aztecs and Maya did exactly the same.
He is also wearing a Hair Net, Rubber Slaughterman's Apron and the grey gloves represent the Chainmail Gloves that Slaughtermen and Butchers wear to protect their hands from the insanely sharp knives they use.

Yes, live versions are absolutely the best of Rammstein - although their videos are badass too, and definitely worth watching! You've seen one of their best music videos - Deutschland, and definitely there are some more.
Some music videos that you definitely MUST see: Adieu, Zeit, Angst, Mein Herz Brennt.
Some amazing live performances: oh... all of them 😉 but please see "Wiener Blut" from Madison Square Garden, it is so unique, scary and insane!
Remember, that if there is a video from educatedmarine or Bucksttabu - you should pick it, usually is a bit extended and with proper subtitles.

Live versions are definitely the way to go with this band. I saw them live in budapest last year...the most epic show i've ever seen! Engel and ich tu dir weh live at madison square gardens, mutter live in paris, mein tiel i think also is live in madison square garden. The best ones for the music vids are deutschland, zeit, mein hertz brent piano version official vid and the original mein hertz brent official vid

I've been a fan of Rammstein since '97. (Btw band with the same lineup from the beginning).
This is a song for the fans. I cannot describe the feeling to you, 1st time I listened to the the song. Because we fans had to wait for a long time, until that album dropped. Absolutely amazing. It's the opening song of the album.
Now, if you wanna know, what the lyrics mean, while reacting to the song/ video, I recommend educatedmarine site. He's an english bloke, who spend some years growing up in Germany. He does a really good job, translating.
I'd like to give you a little heads up, the bandmembers all grew up in the GDR. So a lot of lyrics have double meanings. Which I love, because they makes you think. Most lyrics are written in poetry style. The band usually never explains the meaning of the lyrics. That's for you, the listener to make of it, what you think they are about. What I can tell you, is that Rammstein likes to touch on taboo topics of western society. There's some dark stuff, they talk about. And they always like to make you fell a little uneasy. Or a lot uneasy😂. Be it with musical means or with their lyrics. Or visually. You'll see. Looking forward for your next reaction of Rammstein.

After being away from America for 10 years they came back and sold out MSG in 20 minutes. Not bad for a band that doesn't sing in English! You either watched an edited version of this music video or cut out the intro which is epic with the crowd going feral!

Followed you through TOP and now also Rammstein !! Love this. I'd suggest to use the videos of "educatedmarine" with english subtitles. And please check out the videos of the European Stadium tours 2019 / 2022 - their own stage and pyro is unbeatable. Love from Germany

Du hast official live seems to be a favorite. But their music videos are insane as well.
The vast majority of Rammstein songs don't require subtitles. HOWEVER...3 exceptions are Ich Will live from download 2016, to fully understand the crowd participation...Zeit, to understand the emotional aspect to the song...and Dicke Titten, cos it's just so damn funny!

Well my friend.. you've just discovered Rammstein; and that is cool. Check the band named Laibach from Ljubljana, Slovenia (ex Yugoslavia). They've been doing this kind of music like 35 years ago. All good

"They put a lot of people in The Garden". Sold out in 20 minutes. You are right they had taken a hiatus from the US, where they were touring on 11th September. The nationalist hysteria and war frenzy made them (Germans who know that sort of thing, watch their Deutschland video) quit the tour and the US for almost ten years. Meanwhile hype was building for them, and yea... sold out MSG in 20 minutes.
Iggy Pop was ther, and said "They offered me earplugs, they said 'you will neede these', and I said 'naaaahhh' I put in the earplugs, and it was still too loud, my whole body was shaking."
And yes, he is the nicest guy. He is a shy introvert poet with stage fright. Hence the act that hides who he really is.
