Yes, used to live in a trailer in Florida. Whenever it rained palmettos would get in, an UNGODLY amount of palmettos. I remember turning on my PS4 which I hadn't turned on in years when I was living there and as soon as I did it caught on fire.

And there were a bunch of dead roaches, but it’s not really anything serious, just dumped them in the trash and sold it on eBay for $150.

If you live in a roach infested neighborhood you can never eliminate the problem. You can reduce it though IF you care. But some people just don't care. Can't fix that.

I think its not really a problem on were you live because you can live in the cleanest neighborhood in the world but if you dont keep your set up clean not just roaches but other bug to will show up of you dont keep the set up clean
yeah the area plays a big part when i was in the city we living in a roach infested house it was absolutely awful. since we moved out to the boonies no roaches and our way of living hasn’t changed much

You might want to check the cooling fins. They clog very easily.

That's not my product but sometimes people can't help getting infested with bug's. It sucks that customer have to live with cockroaches best of luck for that customer.

I wouldn't touch them even if they offered to double their pay cost, an infested workspace can lead to many issues from ruining your game systems to it spreading to your own home being infested just for a measly paycheck. Just time wasted honestly if the owner can't maintain/care for a clean console they don't deserve it to be fixed lol. I didn't buy a $600 Xbox series x just to have an infestation happen and ruin my system and have wasted time and money, see the point? It takes under an hour to clean an Xbox inside out if you've got an ounce of tech experience. No hate, my personal opinion.

the amount people would charge to fix it would probably exceed the cost of getting a new console, and most repair stores charge a flat rate and aren't equipped to deal with this sort of thing. and you could put all that time into fixing it but not be successful, which means it's an absolute waste of your time and energy if you only charge when something's fixed, or it could waste the client's money if you do still charge.
I had an xbox one s do this for a while. I kid you not, I lost my temper and punched it as hard as I could on the vents at the top, removed a good bit of skin from my knuckles, but it worked perfectly after that.
I like to believe the xbox worked out of sheer fear of being punched again.

Yeah when I worked at gamestop they made us turn roach consoles away. I opened the cover on a 2013 xbox one and this dude brought it in and it had those dead, white looking roaches in it and they were freaking packed in the console. He looked at me like I was dumb but I wasn't letting an infestation take place in my store.
When you pay someone to fix your console but then they say it’s broken when it’s clearly fixable but he doesn’t wanna do it because of an infestation so you end up getting back a broken console when you payed your money.

My guy that is the lamest cleaning i have ever heard of. You gotta completely disassemble that thing and soak the plastics/metals in dawn soap with alcohol, scrub the electronics with alcohol and a soft bristle brush (toothbrush works too).
for everyone pissed off, it's probably a "no repair, no fee" shop. and even if he did try to fix it, it's unlikely the fix will work due to the xbox being so damaged it won't turn on. so it's not worth his time and it's not worth the client's money.

Mine got infested and I cleaned it sanitized it got a bottle of air and sprayed on the motherboard now it works like new it all depends how quick you act about it mine works like a champ
I have a little secret I'm gonna go ahead and share it with you. It's how to clean those suckers out i've done this a few times works like a champ. Basically get eighty percent rubbing alcohol you know the one that's not conductive to electronics. I just poor 4 bottles of that right through my xbox. It all dried out and was cleaned perfectly.

Mr brother spilled soda on mine and it started to do that so we took took off the cover and stomped on it a couple times and threw it down the stairs and then plugged it in and it worked right away and still runs till this day
Speak for yourself. I got a ps4 slim, and a ps4 pro, with 6 controllers, two hdmi cables, both power cords, as well as a charger and 4 free games. Broke em both down cleaned em up and replaced both power supplies that were destroyed by roaches. Consoles cost me a hundred dollar bill with all accessories. Power supplies cost me in between 70-80$ a piece. Spent 250$ on over 800$ worth of hardware. It is most definitely NOT a waste of time.
Just clean the fan area with hairdryer trust me it will start as usual
Seeing just how the x box looked can tell you it's roach infested I have one of these bad boys and it still looks brand new wipe the x box down once a week or even once a month and that's all you need

Yep, I do this with my PC setup although my PC sits on a wooden cutting board ($4 cheapo under desk PC floor mount) under the carpet I have mesh shields and I clean my PC monthly and it's barely dusty/dirty. You'd be amazed how many people disregard cleaning their systems and the problems they reside by doing so.
I still have my Xbox one S and it still turns on the only thing wrong with it is the disk drive stopped working… I can only download games and play, I think Xbox had something to do with this tho because my disk drive on my console was working fine until I updated it😅

My Xbox one s pooped on me after been using it for 4-5 years but it still works. It just that the processor memory core runs slower now and can take awhile for the Xbox to respond. Back to get what you what

a new hard drive, or just some simple thermal paste replacement will fix this issue. some local game shops offer these services and it heavily extends the life of the console.
i did maintenance on my old Xbox One X replacing the paste and installing an internal SSD, and it runs like a dream. Currently lending it to a friend so they can play Fortnite and Warzone on their free time and they absolutely love it.

Help pls. My Xbox one s got damaged by a lightning storm and didnt power up. I took it apart and found the power supply was fried. After replacing the power supply it finally booted up but now it doesn't produce a picture on my TV. I've tried booting it up in low resolution etc as well, still nothing
