Ngl I’ve been working in Waitrose over a year now. Before I thought they were overpriced but the longer I’ve worked there the more I realise their deals are banging and you can acc make a meal for so cheap with their products

@@charlottep.114 It always depresses me whenever I've been in Waitrose because I usually strike up conversation with the cashiers while bagging up, and I'm usually the first to ask them how they are, some days - even as late as 3 PM.

I’ve never even stepped foot in a Waitrose. I actually had to Google to see how many are in Edinburgh, a whole 3. And the house prices surrounding them are probably close to and over £1 million...

Basil clearly loves you in an understated way. We used to wander around Waitrose (have never been well off enough to live in a town with a Waitrose in it) just to be aghast at prices.

I grew up in Massachusetts, and we griddle our muffins with butter. Turns dry muffins into the best muffins. Split, with a scrape of butter on both sides and lightly browned in a non-stick pan. Delish.
Been watching ur channel for a while now and never thought I say this but I enjoy watching ur week on now not that I not liked them before cos I did but just enjoy looking forward to them now more soo, soo keep it up and look forward to the next 6 days now 😊

I've had a few of the Waitrose Essentials and to be honest it's not that bad, but then again I was using the Kwik Save No Frills range as my expected standards . lol.

Telling People a handfull of pasta, a can of beans, some bread and 2 potatoes is considered 1st enough for 5 meals and 2nd worth £30 is disingenuous.
Look a 3 of those Boxes and compare that to the Mountain of Food shown by Mike.
You could buy 6 of those Boxes for £30 at retail, just imagine what you get if you buy in bulk. I´d be surprised if one of them costs more than 3.
Again, this is what i´d call disingenuous and disgraceful.

To be fair on Waitrose, If we're counting Molly's as part of the old Tesco Value brand, Tesco do both fairy cakes and iced fairy cakes in their budget brand.

I do a shop for my husband and i and 5 pets for around 10 days from Tesco, a mix of their own brand and branded items and its around £60 lol

I shop at Morrisons or waitrose alternately for my main shops and I do buy different products from each but my spend is about the same. I buy the offers and essential ranges and the quality rarely disappoints. The overall shopping experience is very good too plus if you have their loyalty card you get a couple of coupons and a neros coffee if you take your own cup. They do some unusual products as well. I also visit farmfoods too.

About 25-30 years ago when i was still a child waitrose WAS NOT a posh supermarket... it was pretty much similiar prices to everyone else.. except they had a nice wine section.... when did this transition into a posh supermarket come about? was it gradually over time or did they at some point just have a rebrand to become a posher store.
Looks like this will be a good week on for you but my goodness, the amount of packaging when it was all laid on the table was a shock 🙈

'Waitrose' & 'Essentials' is an oxymoron
Its not, they have very good essentials bacon and bacon is an essential to me.
I don’t think I’ve made it to a Waitrose on any trip to England. Not that I’ve been there a lot: 1995, 2015, 2018, never more than 2 weeks. Usually I was near one of those tiny Tesco stores wherever I was staying, not much else.
15:23 - I was convinced Grace was going to say "that's what she said!", after that comment!
I recommend never going by the cook time on a frozen pizza, instead look for the cheese to be the right shade of golden brown.
Depends on the oven too , Gas ovens cook thin pizza's much better , but they destroy deep pans most cook times are only guidelines anyway in all fairness

It always gets to me how mike seems to go by the cooking times of EVERYTHING he puts in the oven rather than just use common sense... most people i know just bung whatever in and keep checking every so often to see when its done right... cooking times for most stuff on boxes are usually anywhere between 5-20 minutes too short for my liking and how i like things cooked
