In comparing the Larceny c922 to the ECBP a123, for my tastes the Larceny c922 is the winner. I haven’t tried the ECBP c922, so there’s that, but I really do like both the EJBP a123 very much. The Larceny c922 just tastes slightly richer, darker and has a less astringent, less bitter oaky finish compared to the ECBP a123. If I had both in front of me every day, I’d reach for the Larceny c922. It finishes as it starts, and makes me smile every time. All that said, the EJBP a123 was readily available for several months on the shelf at $69.95 at my local little liquor store here in the Oregon coast, and was a worthy substitute for the Larceny, just a bit more rough around the edges in a direct comparison, more drying on the finish. The negative for the Larceny c922 batch is I could only acquire it online (at $69.95 plus shipping ($22-25) with a one bottle limit, where I could even find it in stock. Still worth it while it can still be found without the ridiculous aftermarket markups. So far, it’s my favorite bourbon batch, and I can only hope they keep it going.
@@pdxflint agree 100% on c922 being superior. I've been trying ECBP c922 and a123 side by side for weeks now and c922 always comes out on top. My state does LCBP releases the same way and the shipping cost is very annoying. Hoping to come across it randomly in my travels, if that's still possible lol
I have heard such good things about the C922. I got a bottle of A123 which people say is also good. I was wondering if you have tasted both, and if so, how do they stack up?
Great question! I have B522 and C922 open and they're actually very similar. I haven't tried A123 but if I were to make an educated guess, A123 is probably just as good or similar! All in all, any batch for Larceny or ECBP are solid!
Great Review and now i am just plain hungry! Appreciate the content!!
haha no problem and thank you!
haven't come across any Larceny BP yet but I've got a bottle of ECBP C922 and it's amazing. Recently got the A123, very excited to compare them soon
love that ECBP, any batch! I'd love to try the new 2023 bottle too!
