    The nice thing about switching to LEDs is less demand for hydro on your alternator .
    It's a win-win situation when you go to brighter lights and less demand on your alternator.

      I put new Halogen bulbs in the headlight. I didn't want to have to deal with resistors and stuff.
      Just LED driving lights.
      I'll have a new video this weekend of me changing my front fork springs and oil, steering head bearings, engine cases (too less corroded ones), grips + clutch/brake levers and left signal stalk (to hopefully fix my turn signals)
      How many km's on your bike?

      @@highmilagerider1154 oh nice! Looking forward to those vids..👏
      I have about 130k on mine, but most of that isn’t me. 🤣
      Bought it only a year ago, it is in extremely mint condition, based on some other ones I looked at.. But yeah, bone stock.
      I’d love a 98+ CLEAR Headlight on mine but they’re hard to come by and too expensive, not worth it for it being mostly aesthetics..
      I’m gonna go LEDs on most of my Lights too, eventually, so it’s interesting to see you stick to halogens on headlight.. 👍
      You see, I’m a young dad, father of 3, coming from the Rocket and Off-road community. I used to stunt motorcycles, dirt bikes, quads etc, so this Touring Category is new to me but I just sold my Ninja ZX10R and honestly, the Wing suits me at this moment haha
      I love this old man, Dad-Vibes I get from it, blasting 80s rock, going down the road on Cruise Control and actually going the Speed Limit haha.. So different than stunting or riding the modded Ninja at near tripple the Hwy Speed 🫣

    That's about how I remembered it! You mentioned the reassembly order at the end there. There are plastic alignment pins that go from the side panels into the lower cowl (or maybe it's the other way) that can give grief if the cowl is not loosened. Just removing the one cowl screw on whichever side you're working on gives it enough play that you can flex it in and out, if you don't want to remove the whole cowl.
    By the way, have you LEDized your turn signals yet? Just wondering how that goes. I want too, but hear it can mess with the auto shutoff and cruise control. Thanks for the video!

    Night n day difference from OEM to aftermarket…question? Do you find oncoming traffic flashing you for having too bright of light and do these new LEDs have high and low beams setting…would like to have seen switched from high to low in video for comparison

    • @highmilagerider1154
      @highmilagerider1154  2 года назад

      No one has flashed me, probably because I used the same cornering light lens so the light goes low and to the side a bit, all I did was replace the bulb
      I changed them so I would be more visible, not so much so I could see better with them
      There is a whole kit available out there from Fortnine in Canada and many places in the USA where you replace the bulb and lens so it becomes a true driving light. There about $200

    Nice detailed tutorial..have a question. I ordered the SOCALMOTOGEAR
    50 Watt LED Replacement Cornering Light Bulb. #SCML50WC-2
    But when I plugged them in they were Extremely dim. Barley candle strength. Left side doesn't work with the LED bulbs but stock halogen bulbs work. Any idea what it could be. Relay or fuse. Weird that both stock bulbs work but LED only on o e side and VERY dim. Thank you for your help

    • @highmilagerider1154
      @highmilagerider1154  5 месяцев назад

      Might be a relay or fuse, but I wouldn't thing so given that your halogen bulbs work.
      One GW owner suggested that some later model wings (90-96) might require a solder bridge on the rear contacts of the bulbs to make the corner LED's work?
      I'm not familiar with the Socal bulbs and their amp/watage ratings.
      I used the Pathfinder LED replacement bulbs from Cycle Max.
      Did you try both LED bulb's on the left side?
      Good luck.

      It's been 6 years since I replaced my cornering lights in my '89 with the 50W LED replacements by SoCalMotoGear from Cyclemax and they were a direct exchange plug-n-play. I do however vaguely recall reading about how some folks on some later model Wings having to make a solder bridge on the rear contacts of the bulb to make the corner LEDs work. I don't recall why and didn't have to try that anyway, but it may be worth looking up. Since cornering lights come on with the turn signals, did you try them with the turn signals on? Just grasping at feathers! Good luck!

    Considering this video is over a year old this may be redundant. Since you are doing your own maintenance have you yet purchased a set of JS screwdrivers? The screws on Goldwings are not Phillips, they are JS or "Japanese Standard". Just similar enough that phillips screwdrivers will mangle the heads of the screws.

      @highmilagerider1154  2 года назад +1

      I did a night ride and found they are really bright but the light angle is the same as when they were cornering lights because the lens is the same. I think to get them to shine further down the road you would need to buy on of the kits that also replaces the lens as well.
