- This is my original Great Ball Contraition (GBC) module. I made a car that carries the balls with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). I use Lego's Powered Up platform.

That blue one is gonna get fired if it keeps fumbling into the others like that
Emil Macko was looking for this xD
Oh noes. Thats the next #BrickToo

Hahaha?lol😎😎😎😎😎😎

At some point they are cute.
5:10 - They are like Tiny Kittens!
5:15 - perhaps the yellow is losing out because it measures a shorter distance, since its sensor is on the inner side of the track? The straight tracks will have a noisier response.
LoneTech my thoughts too. Radial difference
But the game has out timesavers
That or the sensors just give crap readings occasionally. LEGO is pretty high quality stuff but I think a few faulty values are still to expect
@@tomwaligorski9882 could be both, no technology is completely flawless. theres gonna be a couple of false positives/negatives in there, the main uncertain factor is How Many
i think one happens at around 5:32 - the cars all come to a standstill, but green bugs out a bit and starts moving again
Elon Musk: I am inevitable
Akiyuki:
The carts are very sensitive about their personal space.
Yeah I like to think of the carts like little people driving and whenever they bump eachother from going too quick I like to think they find it funny.
Epic RUclipsr lmao
@@nak_attak They should also shout curse words when they bump into eachother.
It’s because they want to social distance.
Corona virus
The next step would be to automatically add and remove cars based on expected ball throughput.
That'd be perfect for both the visual aspect as well as reduce battery charge wastage - have a little single-lane rail yard off to the side with a lane switcher that counts the average amount of ball throughput (switching only when there's not enough balls to warrant more than 1 cart and if there's nothing near it to prevent derailment) to store some of those carts, and uses the same type of gate as the main feeder to hold them in the pen.
5:30 stop bullying yellow everyone
Haha
Omg they are so derpy i love them
HE KILLED GREEN!!!
STOP BULLYING YELLOW!!
These are awesome, first time I've seen the hub's in action used in multiples like that! Perhaps look at app cloning, instead of having to use four (for now!) devices?

I like how yellow and blue had a little standoff at the end over green
Nice design and execution! This exactly shows why Boost/PowerUp is not suitable for GBC. 4 phones/tablets, all the Boost/PowerUp parts and a lot of batteries! My whole family would be without phones for a week when I run this at LEGO World Utrecht :)
This will hopefully be achievable, when Boost adds in Multi Hub Support (which has been promised)... and as for cost of parts, and batteries - that's never stopped GBC builders before! ;)
and in the meantime, there are other software products that can control multiple hubs at once (Brick Automation Project, etc)
Thats genius! But why the hell we are in need to power these four guys by four Tablets/Phones? Thats just silly and one single table should be able to handle that with ease
It might just be so he could activate them separately in this specific demo.
@@SynchronizorVideos Nope. It is a stupid thing about the whole range of powered up motors and hubs. The hub must always be connected to a device or remote, otherwise they just stop. Also, remotes/devices can only control one hub at a time.
Seriosuly? Which genius thought that was a good idea.
@@NirateGoel No idea. Apparently they have promised multi hub support in the future.
@@Miyakans I think the v3.0 or newer has muti hub support to control 3 bins like cars and a loader
Amazing design, I like how it doesn’t need to stop to empty the load, that could add a lot of possible options for interesting emptying techniques?

I suspect if all the sensors are adjusted to match, then any set of 3 cars will push the 4th around. The set of 3 will bounce against each other, so the lead car ends up pushing the 4th car around.
Well, most of the time. It would be a metastable system. The cars can be placed on the track so none of them are moving.
If each car changes its following distance randomly, it will break deadlocks, and make it look like the cars are losing their patience.
It’s beautiful. I’ve looked at it for five hours now
Another really great design. Having built a number of GBC builds with Powered Up and Boost, the issue is feed back latency between the phone/tablet and the hub as well as the variations in the sensors, they all have there own little nuances. Light also plays a big part, the bright recording lights bouncing off the glossy bricks does also cause an issue. When I built a sorting robot with Boost it had trouble between yellow, white and orange because of bright light
It'd be really cool to see these travel different random paths, so the order of the carts ends up constantly changing as the module runs!

you should add some rubber double axle connectors to act as bumpers between the two, unless they're too elastic and cause them to fall off the track too much

is it possible to use sensor readings to control other things like with NXT? Then you could make automatic slow down behind others/near stops etc.
AWESOME !
If humans worked like this, we wouldn't have to worry about social distancing!

wow...nice!
I've seen a couple theories, but at around 5:30, you say you don't know why the yellow car is being pushed. My thought is that since the pink one moved forward, the blue moved forward to compensate for that move. Then, that causes the yellow-green to move forward, thus pushing the yellow. The yellow one doesn't have this pressure to move forward because all the other cars move towards it from the front, rather than the back. So, it loses out and gets pushed back.
Once the lime car pushes forward the yellow car, space is freed for the blue to occupy, allowing pink to move forward, and the cycle continues.
Edit: Changed the time stamp to be more accurate, from 5:15 to 5:30.
You should make the tires at the start into a chain lift it would go faster because chains can go up to 17 mph
What would be the price cost for what we're seeing at 2:41?

I especially like the usage of that large gear in lifting the balls to the top of the dispenser.
They fit so well into the teeth of the old gear that it’s kinda like they were designed to do that... LEGO is really cool
Wow

Great design. I got the bsx files from your website but it has a few parts that are not recognized by BrickLink. Is there any way to get the parts file without the bb891c01 and bb892c01 for the cars and bb894c01 for the loader. Thanks so much.
Could watch the 2m44s configuration for hours.
Now I’m just imagining this being put before The problematic module and ending up with a switch track so when it breaks you just flip the switch and the carts bypass it to a second unloading station
But you have the XX the game never worked properly enough.
Hi! Your mashines it's super!!!!!!😊😊💙💛.
The cars bumping into each other is the cutest fucking shit
Now all we need is for LEGO to release a command hub sorta thing that can connect to many of these at a time. Imagine the train layouts.
Could you please send me the coding used & any ideas for possible anti- collision capabilities for PU Lego Trains on a track?
Very very great👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻thx share
The duck and duckling thing is so cute! U should kind of ''dress'' them up to look like ducklings following there mother duck!
You don't need another phone. Use 3.0 app instead. up to 4.

For some reason these little fella remind me of Huey. Dewey, Louie and I guess now Blueie lol, from the 1972 Sci Fi film Silent Running.
this should be a lego set
With the programmed LEGO it seems like it easier, mechanical is always better.
cool needs a longer track but cool. maybe even have multiple drop off stations.
Real cool stuff. Congratulations
The new Lego Powered Up update that makes it possible to control multiple hubs with one device makes this _much_ more feasible!
Well, not far till the home-office-home cycle of your average office worker from this point
5:39 it is because the value read from the sensor changes slightly due to electrical noise.
That's really great. I think the next step should be having it count the balls, and only proceed when they have a full load! Amazing.
I'm calling it, one day Earth will be ruled by Lord Aki's GBC robots.
oooo, i think contraptions like these are used for moving balls between sections and such where modules would not be appropriate
they should have little faces on them :)
The pushing of the cars could be because of disturbance created by the 2 sensors facing each other. The sensors probably use the same infrared frequency and when they face each other they create reflections causing wrong measurements.
Wow, this is cool. You could make a ball quarry using this system! Think about this: from the rest of the GBC, balls are randomly sorted into little mine shafts, big enough for these carts to travel through. The cars go in empty, and come out as if there were little workers inside the mine filling them. The balls are then transported to one of your bigger cars by way of conveyors, hoppers, and chutes, and are then dropped into the next module. Keep in mind that with the amount of balls going out, the next module has to handle large numbers. I would recommend the ball-dozer or your wave module.
Wow awesome work, good job
so cool!!
Brings me to mind to the old Commodore 64 computer with the Basic language; 10 goto 20, 20 goto 10 😂👍👍
This is not Lego , stop technology.
The cart using WeDo 2.0 M and BOOST sensor
I'm sure the new smart bricks make everything more streamlined, but I do miss how you could make complicated motions with kinetic machinery. Great stuff as always.
Powered by BOOST and PU
The variable behaviour is caused by lag time. The time spent sending a signal to the phones processing it and getting it back and then acting is high enough that it puts them out of sync.
V3.0 with muti hub support.
I could watch this for days
*Intimidates the yellow car*

so what you have made is the 4 stooges.
You could add an eye on the right side, then it looks like it has two eye's, and it's like driving faces around the track :D
5:12 why did this make me laugh
They are like Tiny Kittens!
You could add color sensitivity to the program to get specific stops
Does anybody know what is that sensor with a small camera? I can't find it on lego shop.
