Thank you for the in depth tutorial! I’ve heard of this method but haven’t found anyone that goes over it in detail (for free, lol). This makes so much more sense!
Thanks for posting stuff about plastic bases! I’ve put one on my Christmas list and I think my mom is planning on getting it for me :) fingers crossed!
@ I’m trying to decide between plastic or foam (the ones you pour expanding foam into a mold) bases when I want to make and sell premades! Yeah, I’ll make the plastic/foam myself, but I can’t really spend much time trimming with scissors because I get bad hand cramps! I think foam bases are better for durability and the ease of transport, but plastic bases are firm and probably easier to clean/ better ventilated!
Thank you for this there’s never any good information other than “take your time” 😅! I was wondering if I need an actual needle felting tool to help repair areas with patches? I’ve tried mimicking needle felting with just plain needles and it never sticks to my head it just slides off.
Happy to help! :) I used an actual needle felting tool and only had half-decent results when I needle felted it in sideways. Regular needles will not needle felt
Half the time even then the felting didn't work, and I tried to patch in fur pieces with hot glue - and the result looked worse than the bald patch, the hot glue made the affected area look larger and bulkier.
Is it alright to shave it before hand and then use this technique after the fur is glued down to the head? I use to shave it after the fact when I was first making suits, but I kept running into issues when shaving due to all the curves and hard to reach places.

I'm so glad it helps!! :)
“This is a… 3D printed head base” YESSSSS YESSSSSSSS EXACTLY WHAT IM SEARCHING FOR YESSS!!!! YAYAYYAYA
What a great tutorial! Using a pet nail trimmer for smaller areas is GENIUS. I've also seen some makers use those disposable razors, too!
@@lilivic yes I finish up with a disposable razor!

Also that head is BEAUTIFUL and I wanna eat it it’s so smooth

@@TeacupLion ok thank you!

Thanks I am always nervous about trying to get an even shave.
Great info! Thanks for posting. Head looks awesome.
This is super helpful. Thanks!
came to learn, stayed for the asmr of the razor lol
do you have a tutorial on how to do the mouth/lip lining?
Hopefully in the future!

Yes, I pre-shave fur a bit short and other makers do as well. For the hard to reach places at the end, you can use a dog paw trimmer.
Yay!!! Thanks!!!
What fur length did you have originally on the shaved part? It looks amazing!!
@@FinnFoxx23 it was beaver length fur and teddy
@ thank you!! I love your tutorials!
what 3D base did you use?
@@luckyborsboom6909 the canine one I sell in my Etsy shop TeacupLionFursuits
I watched this and enjoyed it, which is weird cuz I'm not a furry lol, I just find it satisfying when people build cool shit
it's super fun even if you aren't a furry you can make a lot of money this way.
i dont understand why people don't just shave it before attaching it or buy shorter fur
Yes, people (and I) do preshave. But it still needs a final smoothing. Especially since shapes change after gluing fur down.
Why is this being recommended to me? I have nothing to do with furries
