Actually these are very good for the beginner. Because it cautiously brings with it an understanding of the overall method of measurement and proper preperation and follow through of loading a single cartridge properly.
Just ordered two sets in 30-30 and 38 special. My first reloading equipment ever. Figure i start with this, to see if its something i wanna continue doing, before spashing out on a "real" press
For plinking ammo they work fine, but slow of course, and labour intensive. I think they have their place, to bring to the range maybe and just as a fun thing to add to the toolbox. But for more serious reloading, no. I have since bought "real" tools and it's a hell of a lot easier to work with. But I don't regret buying them, they're well made and it's neat to have everything in a small red box. A kind of "swiss army knife" feeling.
Makes rounds better than factory immediately. WARNING : Accuracy is highly addictive. Lee should have called these kits “Pandoras Box” You open one of these & you are in for a life of chasing accuracy & you will obtain incredible reliable accuracy & it’s never good enough. If you shoot a one hole group at 100 yards, you will want to do it at 200. It never ever ends. Good luck !
I love these kits. Have both 10 gauge versions. You quickly learn that these kits are not needed when loading shotgun shells and household items work just as well.
How does one determine / calculate the bullet seating depth when using different grain bullets? does the overall length remain with different grain bullets using this specific kit? I am new to reloading
@@soupybiscuit7349 I know it’s been a while, but yes there’s hundreds of reloading books on the market that’ll give you exact load data for caliber, barrel length, Powder type/amount, what to expect Fps, knockdown, all that.
@@roadsidecamper sure does, the part with the integrated powder and bullet "funnel". Afte you seat your bullet flip it to the other side and lightly tap the die. And check your round to see if you like the crimp light or tap it just a little more for a hard crimp.
Midway USA or Natchez Shooting and Outdoors might have the tool if you want to do online ordering. In-person purchase might be through Carter's Country or some similar shooting supply store.
Shit happens sometimes, dad had one go off while seating the bullet and it exploded the die. Just keep your head away from it and wear safety glasses/ears. Wouldn’t recommend doing it under people.
Hi I have been looking for a good video I'm wanting to get my husband a reloader for his birthday as a surprise iv just watched the video I'm a bit confused you taped out the old primer do I need to get the and the tops separately he is a gamekeeper and has a 243 rifle and 2 other one and a shotgun just need a bit of help and the kit comes with everything you need is that right 👍 thanks The wife
since nobody has replied i will. yes you will need primers, specifically large rifle primers for the .243. you will also need bullets and powder, and will also need old brass from the rifle. also a caliper if he does not already have one to measure accurately.

My absolute favorite reloading routine.

F*** not agion I just got off heroin and crack why could I have not seen this yesterday
My great uncle gave me one for 357 mag when I graduated highschool in 1975, and got me hooked on reloading.

Still got mine also they come in handy at times
Good for field loads
I think that you would need to trim your case prior to primer seating, if using the Lee case trimmer.

How do you know what size to adjust it too for the bullet seating? That’s what i want to know :)
The load data will give you max and min length. You will have to buy some calipers.
@@Rk-mz4bb i appreciate it!

The one thing everybody forgets is a step in this kit . . . . The crimper!
Does it have a crimping option?

@@WARXDEVILXALAN Nice! I always wanted to give reloads a try, this might be a entry for me. Thx!
@@WARXDEVILXALAN right! All of mine for necked rifle cases it's a gentle taper crimp. Does straightwall case loaders give roll crimps?
@@roadsideprophet2012 sure do. Got one on my .44MAG & 45/70
I’m fairly new to reloading, with that said where do u get the tool you used to trim and “chafer” the case neck?

A guy posted on FB that had a primer go off on him hammering one in

Faster and harder you hit the better make sure it seats in one swing less taps less risks if going off . Very confident true hard strike is the safest
I have several Lee Loaders sizes for SHTF and emergency situations
Don't we have to heat the cartridge so they don't crack when we resize the cartridge necks?
very helpful
Good kit I think 😊

@@agentjwa thank you so much 💓
I wonder if there is a way to make blanks with this.
what about crimping the casing on top??
What is that trimming tool called?
Kahan Milega
Very cool
What is the proper length of the cartridge after reloading?
Please
It'll vary by cartridge, load, and bullet
You should be able to find any data you need by looking up the components you're using
Thanks
Do they work with 7.62x39
You did say "gently tap". 😅
If I use a vmax bullet with the plastic tip, will it get damaged from the hammering while setting the bullet?
Thanks
