I found the cross harder to shoot small groups with but its accuracy was adequate, for a hunting rifle I like it, i appreciate the walkthrough on how to swap the barrels!
Not been a fan of the Sig Cross but I love the video showing the different setup via Odin Works. I really like the custom case and how they cut the logo into the foam.
I was also a bit disappointed in the groupings. I have a 6.5 CM Sig Cross Born and Raised edition with the longer barrel. I consistently get less than 3/4 moa. On most days, it is closer to 1/2 moa using Hornady 147 ELDMs or 140 Sig Elite. I have had lots groups at less than 1/2 moa, but it's when I use the heavy bipod , Ryan Cheney's airfoil bag and only one cup of coffee that morning 😂
I like the modularity of barrel swaps! I wish this was a package deal! These would be fun developing loads of each and see the improvement of the accuracy? Just a thought
I would love for you to do a build on a 25 Ackley improved with a 7-1 barrel using the 133 & 135 to see the performance, it should be one of the flattest shooter on earth, love your show thanks
Okay I found my next project!! That barrel swap is sweet. Thanks for the great video! Also great meeting up at the Horizon/Hornady dinner last shot show! Will have to come check out ur shop some time. Only few hours from me!
This would be perfect for the one gun to rule them all concept. I hope after load development and zeroing it's repeatable after changes. The 6mm CM would be great to have. I like it.
I've found the Accuracy of the 6.5 Cross to be typically around 1 -1.5 MOA. It doesn't like a lot of ammunition types. I've found it shoots best with Hornady and flat base projectiles.
I agree with factory loads I have seen the same. Using any hand loads it is consistently under 1MOA. I think for a light weight hunting rifle this is more than acceptable.
@@Zer0Edits00 Sorry I don't really follow your logic, if you have enough money you could also buy something that doesn't have this issue. This essentially makes having a "trainer" barrel impossible without re-zeroing every time.
@@adamgrare8070 what’s wrong with rezeroing? Once again, you have the money to do it, you’re getting more and more practice when shooting more shots and using more ammo.. also, probably better to train with the barrel that you’re actually gonna use right? I’ve had 4 sig cross rifles, 2 in 6.5 creed, and 2 in 308, all shot much better than those Odin barrels with a variety of factory ammo. I was expecting those Odin barrels to perform better.
I wish this channel did more videos on real world reloading, especially for hunters. The indepth catridge deep dive videos are always great. I've always been told t is bad to install an optics rail that connects the receiver and he foregrip, like is done here. It is better to just have a shorter one on the receiver and use a cantilever optic mount to adjust.
On an AR, you would be right. There is a lot of wiggle between the upper receiver and the for-end. On the Cross, it’s a very sturdy connection and doesn’t seem to have any issues with that.
It's unfortunate that the rifle didn't shoot a little better. Especially with the 6.5 Creedmoor. The 22 CM did OK, but the 6 GT was the clear winner. I have come to expect sub MOA out of gas guns and close to sub half MOA out of bolt guns. The days of 1.5 MOA being the norm appear to be over.
Gavin, factory Hunting rifle, Carbon wrapped barrel or fluted steel. Looking at the Bergara Crest Carbon vs the Crest with fluted steel barrel, which do you prefer?. I like accurate guns like you.

Trying to put together a decent budget friendly midweight chassis rifle system for hunting with a 6.5 PRC or 7 PRC. Kinda looking at Howa 1500 barreled action and MDT LSS or Oryx chassis. Thoughts or recommendations?
So, basically what you’re saying is that it’s like the Sig 320, by the base model and then spend a bunch of money on upgrades to make it decent and reliable.
Do yourself and the rifle being tested a favor and use some sort of target with some grid lines. For me, its kinda hard to hold exact same point of aim with just circles. (unless you are using the corner of the paper and dialing to be on target.)
Lets take a $1600 rifle and make it $2300!!! yay! Go custom and get exactly what you want for that price. Too many good actions, stocks/chassis and pre fits these days.
Beautiful setup, however, I'm not buying the hype. As a SFSC grad, i wouldnt pick the sig cross or anything sig to do anything. Build yourself a custom bolt action, way more accurate.
To much creedmoor, 7 prc maybe? 6.5 okay for deer, antelope. But from everything from deer to moose, 7 prc seems logical. Never replace my .308 and 300 WM. But imo 6.5 isn’t a viable all around hunting round.
I wanted this very sexy rifle in 6,5CM but when I saw number of videos, I decided not to buy, because it never ever shoots some very good groups. It always shoots very average or even worse than average groups.
