This came at a great time, I've been looking into the CZ rimfires to start prepping a 22lr rig for my youngest. I have several Bergaras to include a BMR 22mag and I'm looking forward to adding this one to the family
My Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned or held shooting 1/3rd MOA 5 shot groups at 100 yds. I would not go for a .22 LR version but rather upgrade to .17 HMR which I believe is the best rimfire ammo now.
just to clarify the carbon barrels are actually the same size both are #6 contour barrels. The only thing that's different is the stock its just on the steel version that the barrels are different.
Hey, the barrel on the carbon rifles doesn't have an heavier contour on the BMR-X vs the BMR carbon like you are claiming, they both have #6 contour barrels. The barrel is just shorter
from what i have seen this version is much more accurate than the plain BMR. the tika t1x blows the BMR away, i would love to see this version head to head with the t1x!
Heh... I bought the trainer last year in carbon and love it. For hunting applications I think this one will be better. The 5 round magazines are definitely nice for hunting applications.
Would have liked to see its accuracy with a suppressor after unsupressed since begarra carbon barreled 22’s seem to loose it when suppressed or a tuner is used
Gavin I would love to see this rifle in a Dayattherange challenge. 2025 New Years Challenge is open and taking all comers lol. Nice video great shooting.
Hey guys! Thanks for another informative video! If you had to choose one between the BMR and BRM-X that you have above and price didn't matter I am assuming you would take the X? Purpose for mostly plinking at the home range with a little occasional hunting. Thanks again.
Would be nice to see how it grouped with CCI standard velocity ammo. I know these benz match chambers prefer the high end ammo. Some of us live where we cant buy SMK or Lapua ammo. Looks like a sweet gun.
Thanks for the suggestion- that would have been interesting. We have gotten some great results with value priced ammo in 22LR over the years... (Remington was last I tried)
Honest question, was this BMR-X tested by Bergara before sending to you? I’d imagine they’d be very interested in sending you a shooter. Wonder if it’s a fair representation of what the average guy might expect with an off the shelf version.
As long as ANY .22LR is "minute of squirrel " (MPBR 1.25") it's an accurate rifle. More difficult being consistently accurate with rimfire vs centerfire. There are many PCP air rifles today that'll outperform (and give most) rimfires a run for their money out to 100 yards. The Air Venturi ADVENGER being one.
A few ounces lighter and the cool factor. Some say carbon barrels are better with suppressors than pencil barrels, but 22lr suppressors are so light I don't think it matters (my BMR carbon barrel doesn't even like my suppressor)
Hit pew science, but as someone who owns 2 cans and has shot probably 10 different 22 cans, they're all relatively close when it comes to 22 subs. Theres definitely a difference but it isn't crazy. Road hunter and titanium are the two that sounded best to me
I have the BMR carbon and it is great. The only problem I have is it flings shots all over the place with my light weight (3oz) suppressor. Anyone else have this issue? Do you think a heavier suppressor would work better or is there something else I could try?
Wrong! All BMR and BMR-X have Remington 700 style triggers. From the product page for BMR: "Remington 700 Style trigger that is adjustable only with a allen key. Compatible with most Remington 700 style after market triggers on the market with a side bolt release." See: www.bergara.online/en/rifles/rimfire-series/bmr-steel/
Two problems still exists. The rifle is hard to single load, and the scope rail is not picatinny compliant. You have to shift one ring in order to shift the scope to a real picatinny rail
@StuninRub just because it's not a BR rifle doesn't mean some people don't still want to single load. What if you lose a mag or the spring wears out? It's also possible to damage rounds with mag feeding
@TheMikeshannon If your mag is damaging your rounds, it's because you have damaged your mag. If you choose to not maintain your equipment, it is not the fault of the equipment. Precision rimfire is also seated into the lands, and the chambers will often size the bullet to its final dimensions, too via control feed. Unless your rifle is designed for single loading, it will not function as intended. This is a textbook case of Billy-Bob complaining about a convertible Mustang not being able to tow like their F-150 pick up. This rifle is intended for entry-level PRS.
lets push more single use things. would love to see one-shot-use rifles and guns takiing over market...but srsly, joking a side - wouldnt chocking me the least if it actually did. people need gov to feed themselves (toxics) and police to let you know you did wrong and need to give away an even higher % of ur already hard earned money. everyone cant be above the law, how would that look LOL. insanity.
That would show it's true precision, instead of cutting the camera, and not showing misses. Like in this one on the steel chuck. Paper tells the real truth.
I have a B 14 R, one of my favorite rifles. I have zero complaints!
Whoever the decision maker is at Bergara is is killing it. I love my CZ's and Tikka's but i much prefer the factory stocks on the Bergara's.
They are filling some important product categories and are doing it VERY well! Agree.
I have a Bergara HMR .308 win and I love it. This new rimfire is in my wishlist, absolutely. Regards from Portugal.

Awesome, should be a lot of fun!
Don't bother...buy a CZ!
I'm a bergara fan but I've had way more customers go CZ and been extremely happy with them.
Does look nice. I was hoping they would offer it in 17WSM with Carbon barrel.
I got a CZ457 American as a plinker and love it, but I think this would make a good stablemate for NRL and other scenarios that might ding up my CZ.
Love the rimfire videos, keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
want, may be the one that finally gets bought
Thanks for the review and data
It's a solid choice! Thanks for watching.
That Bergara looks really good, and it is certainly on my list to get one
Do it! 😎
Amazing info . Thanks for posting always . I learn a lot with your videos .
I think it hits the sweet spot in the middle. Might have to get one.
That is very tempting, and excellent performance. The B14-R price point always kept me at bay, this might get me off the sidelines
I say go for it, this is a great value!
They should have used the Sierra stock on this rifle for the best cheek weld using larger optics.

Glad they came out with this before I got a bmr, like the stock a lot better
That's exactly what I was thinking too. I like the look of this one much better than the plain bmr
Great video, was expecting a better stock with a cheek riser. I am keeping my carbon BMR.
I have a B14R ... I would like to see the BMR-X have an adjustable cheek piece.
I have the B 14R in a chassis but looking to smooth out the action a bit more
@rustycraig7562 mine smoothed out a TON, 12-1500 round now..
I just bought the BMR. Love it. Now i feel like I need the BMR-X.

I love the BMR carbon so I know that’s goin to be awesome. I think the mag change in this is way easier than any other 22lr.
I want to know if that stock will fit my BMR carbon which also shoots excellent, but no one makes a stock for it.
I think that carbon model with a VX-5 or Mark 4 scope would be the ticket for a fairly lightweight shooter!
Heh... I bought the trainer last year in carbon and love it. For hunting applications I think this one will be better. The 5 round magazines are definitely nice for hunting applications.
Yes!
If I didn't already have the BMR carbon, this is the one I'd get.
Would have liked to see its accuracy with a suppressor after unsupressed since begarra carbon barreled 22’s seem to loose it when suppressed or a tuner is used
Of course this comes out now that I picked up the BMR Steel 22lr. haha

Great little rifle !

Great video, the suppressor sounded great. What suppressor is it?
I’d like to see ruger bottom metal available to take ruger 10/22 mags or even a CZ bottom metal parts kit as for the rifle I want one !
Well that's an interesting thought... I wonder if it could be made to work (top projection where feeding takes place)
@ I recon the BXR bottom metal would be a straight swop I can’t see the stock moldings being different
Curious if this is off the line or hand built, and if accuracy will fall off from this when production goes high speed
It's the same action and barrel of the BMR, just a different stock.
Different stock AND different barrel profile :)
@@Ultimatereloader does that mean I couldn't fit this stock on my BMR carbon?
Did they fix the 10 round mags? Mine were worn out in a couple hundred rounds. No issues from the 5 round mag
How does this compare to the b14r in terms of performance, accuracy and magazine reliability?
Honest question, was this BMR-X tested by Bergara before sending to you? I’d imagine they’d be very interested in sending you a shooter. Wonder if it’s a fair representation of what the average guy might expect with an off the shelf version.
You should try the bxr it’s really great for the money. Mine shot as well or better than my bmr so I let the bmr go to a new home.
Stake the ejector Darrond b or cyclops joe have a video on this issue. I have fired thousands of rounds out of my b14 R with no problems .

what head set were you using for hearing protection
Is there an advantage with a carbon barrel vs a steel barrel?

@@bryanradik7404Thank you
Do they have a left handed version?
It's why there are $2,500 dishwashers and 6 burner, two oven $22K+ Wolf ranges...? Some people just NEED them!
Do those take Rem700 style triggers?
Would love to see some more can testing
Hit pew science, but as someone who owns 2 cans and has shot probably 10 different 22 cans, they're all relatively close when it comes to 22 subs. Theres definitely a difference but it isn't crazy. Road hunter and titanium are the two that sounded best to me
Wonder how the 17 hmr will shoot. Dang it guess I might have to find out
I'm curious about 17 HMR as well!
@ if the 22lr shoots like that I would like to imagine the 17 HMR will be a great little shooter
I'm surprised this channel hasn't touched on reloading 22 yet. (Yes, it actually is a thing.)
What height rings did you use ?
I have the BMR carbon and it is great. The only problem I have is it flings shots all over the place with my light weight (3oz) suppressor. Anyone else have this issue? Do you think a heavier suppressor would work better or is there something else I could try?
A suppressor will typically degrade performance somewhat- here's a test we did: ruclips.net/video/1nVlWPWmmJ8/видео.html
i have B14 6.5 cm can i get a action/barrel from bergara and make it a 22 LR
Yes! See: www.bergara.online/en/rifles/rimfire-series/barreled-action/
Is the regular bmr a remington 700 trigger too
No
Every rifle from factort should have adjustable stocks now
Great groups but these rifles might be cherry picked for the testers ?
Gavin, I missed it what are your thoughts on the trigger, and will it interchange with a Trigger Tech if needed?
The trigger is good, but I think I might upgrade to a lower-pull-weight trigger like a Bix-N-Andy. Yes, triggertech for Rem700 will work too!
What program are you using to dope out to distance for 22LR?
Shooter app, and we also use Drop Scale Factor- see: ruclips.net/video/7nA34-hagXw/видео.html&pp=ygUJNTExIHlhcmRz
Would you choose this over a CZ?
Also, what degree is the bolt throw compared to the original BMR?
Nice 👍
no cheek riser
Two problems still exists. The rifle is hard to single load, and the scope rail is not picatinny compliant. You have to shift one ring in order to shift the scope to a real picatinny rail
Or mount a digital scope with an integrated pic mount
This is not a benchrest rifle. Single loading does nothing. Rimfire is not like centerfire.
@StuninRub just because it's not a BR rifle doesn't mean some people don't still want to single load. What if you lose a mag or the spring wears out? It's also possible to damage rounds with mag feeding

👏👏👏👏
So…..BMR-X or B-14R?
Edit: I guess I should have watched the whole video first. 😂
That can be a tough call, but if you don't need Rem700 foot print, the BMR-X is a solid choice...
This is the answer to CZ. Smart.
20 shots and my “carbon” sleeved barrel unscrewed itself. Sold it right away
So you just passed the problems on to some poor unsuspecting slob?
The magazine kills it for me
