The mobility sessions in maps performance has been a game changer for me. 37 years old and never specifically trained mobility in my life before getting the program. Highly recommend it for everyone. It feels so good.
Had really bad instability in my shoulders from weak rotator cuffs that caused my shoulder to pop out of socket and clock a lot when doing DB lateral raises. Switched to doing cable lateral raises with a deep stretch and only 5 or 10 pounds for 15-25 reps completely with control and man I have never had better feeling shoulders in my life!
Love seeing Justin pumped about these topics! Adam and Sal usually run the show, but great to hear him in his element! You guys are great and have motivated me to add CPT to my entrepreneurial repertoires. Side note... finally have an exit plan for studio classes to work solely with the Anabolic Program. Thanks for all the great information you share!
Z Press, Viking Press, Bent Press, Side Press, Anyhow Press, Torch Press, Log Press, Kettlebell&Dumbbell OHP and Barbell OHP. The push press is also really good for eccentric overload just like the jerk is really good for isometric overload
Timely, that was my thought too. My press is extremely weak. Mobility is an issue and have been working on it. Ready to incorporate some of these moves too!
I have been listening to you guy’s so much the last month or so that I had a dream that I could shape shift just by changing my diet. And in my dream it was some crazy changes. Thank you guys for doing this and caring for others.
Thank you for all your information! I have passed alot of your experienced advice to my girlfriend. Who has been going to slimming world and has been struggling with body dismophia. She has been listening to your videos and we have now started resistance training together which has made her happy already as we used to train seperately. 😊
It's one of those exercises that taught me early on how weak my core and mid back WAS. I had to work on that for a few months before I was able to lift relatively heavy. It's a difficult exercise and takes practise. Great video as always Mind Dudes!
Im female who avoids growing traps but I love OHP so i keep doing it anyway. Yes my traps are bigger (but I guess also because i also do alot of conventional deadlifts. I have well developed upper and lower traps 😢)
I have to agree completely! The overhead press has built me up in the shoulders in a short amount of time! Thank you for the great content fellas! God Bless 🙏🏻💪🏻
I love this video series of the different exercises for each movement pattern. Its so amazing to see how complex the human body is and how important it is too train all aspects of the amazing design of the Human Body. Thanks for the great content Gents❤🔥💪
I love this type of content...I'm really working on form. The specifics of what you guys can teach are great. Also, Justin really shows his expertise in these videos.
Oh this was a great episode! I’ve been sticking to the barbell OHP, but I train upper body 2-3 x per week, going to add in other variations into my routine. I’m excited to see some new gains!!!
Some might argue the Sasquatch is a better thrower haha but yes look at the amount of tendons that run through that area of the body, from the shoulder blade to the clavicle to the chest up and down the arm. All of your rotators go through their your pectoral muscles the lats the triceps the biceps the deltoids the traps the scapula muscles and even the serratus anterior
I loved this episode. So much valuable information for me as I’m having left shoulder pain. I have been modifying my workouts but hopefully it gets better soon. Right now am doing performance and have to go light weight when doing shoulders and chest. Even bench pressing hurts 😢 I need to get better at priming the shoulder 😂 Thank you guys.
Shoulder stability is the bane of my existence. I wish i had a better education in physical training growing up. From PE in school to the army it was all mirror muscles all the way. Most my life i was unknowingly Fing up my shoulders and now ive been spending the last 5 years undoing all that. I hope your knowledge gets to the younger generation and even into mainstream academia.
I love this episode but standing strict press is hard for me to do not physically but with my home gym set up I don't have enough clearance where the weights would go into the ceiling I really want to add this into my workout I can go outside to do them but nothing to hold a barbell to get me set up for when I want to go heavier don't know if anybody suffers from this as well. Would like to go to gym to do these but with a 1 and 3 yo at home hard to pull off.
I had a REALLY bad hip injury about six months ago, which also led to sciatica. For the first few months, I could barely walk or feel my legs. The lift most affected by this has been my OHP since both my hip stability and lower back were compromised. Initially, I could barely derack the weight, and when I'd try to press overhead, I'd nearly lose balance. This has been frustrating because OHP has always been my best upper body lift. I mean, I was doing 185x10 with full lockout pause, slow negatives, and full chest pause on every rep. But I couldn't even handle 135x5. 😂 **Now I'm at a place where I'm back to doing standing OHP with 55lb DB's for 5 not coming off my heels and 135x8 strict on the bar. The prognosis is that it'll probably take a full year to get back to 100%. But all I can do is take it day by day and keep up my rehab protocols.
Thanks for the videos when you explain - I had surgery on both shoulders and will try them all. Behind the neck/head one is really easy for me with a broom lol They all seem doable for me except the Viking for what I use at home. I'm excited to try them all!
Would you guys recommend mixing these exercises in during different sets or in separate workouts? 1 set of strict, 1 set push or it has to be 3 sets each on different days
I see that in my 85 year old father. He can’t straighten his arms overhead, can’t put his head to the wall, or straighten limbs to do a bird dog. He can’t even sit on the floor on his sit bones ☹️
Great. Seven ways to pinch the supraspinatus tendon by pushing overhead. Or for a sane choice you could just do side raises on a machine or cable and cable shrugs and exercise muscles for delts and traps without beating up the shoulder anatomy.
Great episode, I used to do lots of push and presses and clean and presses in my younger days. Recently been doing strict over head press. This episode reminded me of the push a press and will try again soon.
So often the points you guys make regularly are the points people including myself need to hear regularly. THANK YOU
Pressing is the key to my upper body size, strength, and muscle density.
MP got more interesting when Justin talks

Don’t forget the rotator cuff! I work in PT and most of our injuries all have to do with those muscles specifically
Is OHP good for rotator cuff?
This vid could not have come at a better time. Can’t wait to try some of these moves. Thanks for the valuable content!
Timely, that was my thought too. My press is extremely weak. Mobility is an issue and have been working on it. Ready to incorporate some of these moves too!
Lenny's input is on another level this episode 🔥 BOOM! 💪🏽
Great episode
Landmine press is one of my fav
💪🏿Great topic! Been focusing on my shoulders lately.💪🏿
They’re getting there!
Your upper arms are looking darn good, too
@@LatimusChadimus Thanks, bro!🤘🏿Looks like I’m gonna be “cutting” over the next few weeks as I increase my riding.
First time watching on RUclips, always listen to podcast. Find myself staring at Sal’s bicep vein and Justin’s calves😂love these guys
This is a tremendous series, including the squat video from a couple weeks back. Combined with your masterclass series…just exceptional.
Thank you for all the great advise, I will incorporate behind the neck shoulder presses!
Great episode as usual. Love it when you guys break stuff like this down. I have been bingeing Mind Pump for days and days……need to get back outside 😂

Nothing has built my shoulders more than overhead presses
It's one of those exercises that taught me early on how weak my core and mid back WAS. I had to work on that for a few months before I was able to lift relatively heavy. It's a difficult exercise and takes practise. Great video as always Mind Dudes!
I have 2 OHP focused days a week and I have crazy shoulders and traps from it. been my favourite lift for 10 years. yes It does grow traps
Im female who avoids growing traps but I love OHP so i keep doing it anyway. Yes my traps are bigger (but I guess also because i also do alot of conventional deadlifts. I have well developed upper and lower traps 😢)
Using the landmine you can build impressive shoulders and excellent to increase mobility ….. underrated piece of equipment.
Great show guys. I'll definitely try to work some of these into my plan. Thanks and praying for Adam and his family.
I’m a new personal trainer and I greatly appreciate the knowledge and workouts I got from you guys. Keep up the great content 🙏🏼🦾
Have a great day! 💪💪
Running maps aesthetic for the second time in a row right now. Introduced me to full body programming and it’s become my new standard and favorite
MAPS anabolic made my shoulders POP. love all the shoulder varieties.
The clear explanations you guys provide are fantastic!
I have to agree completely! The overhead press has built me up in the shoulders in a short amount of time! Thank you for the great content fellas! God Bless 🙏🏻💪🏻
SOTS Press is my favorite 💪🏽🔑
This is good info. Especially being in my early 40s
I'm taking alot of notes, this is like your Masterclass episodes. I've saved it in my Masterclass folder. Thanks guys
that trizepitide has done wonders for adam
He's so small now, it's crazy
Great episode!! I had to save this one. Thank you 💪🏽🙌🏽
Excellent show
Good video y'all I appreciate this information I been doing overhead press for a while I definitely need to get my shoulder stronger 💪
Thanks!

Great episode and something I need to slowly work on. Partially tore my rotator cuff last summer, which was probably caused by an imbalance.
Great video! Keep it up!
Thank you guys for simplifying these workouts and not going off on a rant and making it confusing.. 😅

Whats your take on standing dumbell press vs seated dumbell press?
Shoulder stability is the bane of my existence. I wish i had a better education in physical training growing up. From PE in school to the army it was all mirror muscles all the way. Most my life i was unknowingly Fing up my shoulders and now ive been spending the last 5 years undoing all that. Just tried the z press with a broom… as a 200lb OHP lifter goddamn!!! The pump after 10 lol!
Very useful information!

Love your content love you guys 🇬🇧
Awesome!
Great content everytime! Keep it coming!
Awesome content per usual 💪
Z press is tough . It actually caused my hernia , so light weights for me now for a while
Would you guys recommend mixing these exercises in during different sets or in separate workouts? 1 set of strict, 1 set push or it has to be 3 sets each on different days
What about working to handstand push ups?
Z press is crazy hard 😂
What about the Arnold press?
Let's goooo... small shoulder gang 😭
What’s a good weight on military press, like a respectable weight?
More than last time.
I see that in my 85 year old father. He can’t straighten his arms overhead, can’t put his head to the wall, or straighten limbs to do a bird dog. He can’t even sit on the floor on his sit bones ☹️
does Justin still provide personal training?
Would you consider the kettlebell press on par with the Arnold press? Maybe he didnt have kettlebells back then??
Would you recommend swapping out the DB shoulder presses for any of these moves occasionally?
Wait what about dumbbell overhead presses?? That’s the bulk of my overhead pressing 😳😳
Can I modify the kettlebell press using just dumbbell? Thank you for your expertise.
Well I have to admit it.. but Adams RIGHT!! I have HUGE fkn Caves and weak ass shoulders wtf!!! Lol save me Obi-wan 💪👍💯
Am I the only one wondering where Adam is!?
Miss you Adam. Hope the fam is doing better.
Great. Seven ways to pinch the supraspinatus tendon by pushing overhead.
Or for a sane choice you could just do side raises on a machine or cable and cable shrugs and exercise muscles for delts and traps without beating up the shoulder anatomy.
Stay fragile
I recently started smith machine ohp and load the f@#k out of it. It feels real good!
Wait I just realized, Adam is nowhere to be found on this one 😂
Standing Dumbbell Press is the Best of all.
Great episode.
Can I modify the kettlebell press using just dumbbell? Thank you for your expertise.
Great episode! I am rehabbing partially torn rotator cuff. I am sure I injured it do to strength imbalances.
Great episode, I used to do lots of push and presses and clean and presses in my younger days. Recently been doing strict over head press. This episode reminded me of the push a press and will try again soon.
