- In my new series on Trump’s second term, in this video I discuss a few things that he can absolutely not take away from us: love and kindness to others, critical consciousness, and our ability to dialogue.
As expected, this video has now started attracting hate comments. Obviously, I will not engage with hateful people, but I am grateful for all of you who have added your positive voices here!!! Thank you.
Thank you for reminding us to LOVE!
You are welcome.
🧘🙏 Thank you for the kind vibes.
You are welcome.
My most sincere thanks for your words of kindness and wisdom. These past few days have been emotionally exhausting, and a voice of reason is necessary.
You are so welcome
Thank you for sharing you voice of kindness!

Thank you for posting this.

Wonderful message Dr Raja. Please keep going. There are so many people behind this message.

Thank you so much.
This video is very much appreciated!
Thank you.
Precise your words dear Dr Raja. All those who play to sink and make dependent (on them) the human life on earth should be made SILENT like stones, not in the sense of being us more despotic or tyrants but giving them a time to stop representing evil and learn of their own dependency. Am I being understandable? Kindness and love dictates... Thank you for your clear "rain", Dr Masood Raja.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
You are welcome!
Thank you for those calm reflections upon the situation. Sadly, we will undoubtedly see various violent escalations as fascism fully emerges as a distinct form of capitalist 'consolidation'. We must, as you say, keep dialogics within praxis, and we must recognise our intersectional strengths.
Thank you. Yes, staying true to our values and staying steadfast is a good option.
You talk about acting out of love and not anger, and while this is something I’ve heard from other people who’s opinions I respect, I’m curious if you think there is a place for anger in revolutionary movements? Can anger not inform your acts of love or vice versa? Thank you for your video
Thank you. I have nothing against passion that mobilizes radical change. I just don’t favor anger that increases hate.
Comforting words. 😂
Thank you.
Do you believe in radical tolerance?
Yes, if certain “universal grounds” for human interactions are respected.
@ What precisely do you mean by universal grounds for human interaction in context? The way I understand that almost seems impossible due to the diversity of temperaments in human nature.
Do you mean yes, IF the space held for such interaction is a respectful and tolerant, non-demonizing environment? I think that, if contextualized as an expectation, such tolerance could easily be either naive or willfully blind--depending on how we look at it.
After all, there's no shortage of unreasonable extremists on both ends of the political spectrum; and by political, at least in this context, I mean human social dynamics.
I fear that tolerance to this degree paired with such an expectation (based on my interpretation of your response, anyway) might be unrealizable. At least on a pragmatic level.
@ Thank you. Obviously I cannot offer any cogent thoughts in comments. Radical Tolerance, in my mind, requires a pluralistic society but it cannot be practiced if one side thinks that they have exclusive right to truth. So, my basic approach is to try to understand opposing points of view from the perspective of the other and then see if those are acceptable or not. But other than this, I have not given it any deeper thought. I try as best as I can to be tolerant of different opinions but not with the hope that those opinions will change and become similar to mine. I think my last book kind of dealt with this problem, albeit indirectly: www.fulcrum.org/concern/monographs/9306t183f
@ The universal grounds are simply things we can all agree on: dignity of human life, not doing harm to others etc etc. Things that most humans can agree on.
@ Oh, okay. Agreed.
Trump has distasteful qualities, but I don't see how you have such a dogmatic view of his politics and constituents. Like genuinely. It's not like he's some tyrannical, evil person. I also don't think radical tolerance is a good thing. I'm a subscriber to your channel and enjoy learning from you and challenging my own views and biases. I also voted for Trump for several reasons. And I am more independent than belonging to any particular camp. I just don't see the drastic harm to people that you seem to be suggesting is likely.
Again, I'm not being rude. I'm genuinely curious as to how you've arrived at your views on the things you've said in this video. Perhaps you could elaborate?
Thank you. I have not reached any conclusions. I am just suggesting that there are things that people like me hold dear, and no one including Trump can take those away and hence we should focus on that and not hate and anger. This is the only response I will give here, as I do not have much else to say.
@
Perhaps I read too much into it. I interpreted more of what wasn't really directly said as implicative of broader character reference. It had me thrown off a little.
On another note, I appreciate the nuanced opinions and the newer unabashed willingness to share personal opinion. That requires some degree of risk these days; particularly if and when one is in the public intellectual domain as a career choice.
Don't let djt take away any love or kindness from you. Who will be kind and loving to the displaced, the most vulnerable, the marginal, and the poor? Will you?
@@kavanhincheyofficial Thank you.
@@maryherrera8603 Thank you. Yes, it is important to keep voicing our opinions about human kindness.
Thank you!
