THANK YOU so much for letting me know about the background sound feature!!! Bloody excellent. Cheers Ben
Why not make a specialized ear plug for the pro that allows ambient sound to sneak in. Perhaps with this adaptation the pro would have the best of both.
I have the Google Pixel Buds. They do have the rubber tips that occlude your ear canal. However, I removed the rubber tips and it reduced the occlusion effect dramatically. I tested it with the rubber tips both on and off. Again, removing the rubber tips reduced the occlusion effect over 90%. I tested with Tinnitus playlists on Spotify and it seemed to work well. I listen to music at a very modest level but am still paranoid that certain notes or instruments may spike my tinnitus. I don't know if this is true or not. Settling in gradually. Thank you for this great video!

Play a song with good mix of instruments or any of ur fav songs and adjust the equiliser accordingly it works amazing
Thank you for the outstanding presentation. I will definitely consider purchasing the AirPods 3 based on the information you presented. My brother told me how much he likes his AirPods Pro, but I was on the fence until I watched your video. Thank you and I hope you have a great 2022!
Thanks for your comment, Jeff. Glad it was helpful! Good luck! Have a great 2022 as well. :)
Thanks I use these occasionally but my hearing needs is main go to 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Hi Ben. Excellent presentation as usual. Can you (or anyone else) tell me if the airpod 3 will work with an android device? Alan UK
While Airpods 3 technically work with Android phones, the experience is likely scaled back compared to use with Apple.
I was able to set AirPods Pro 2 to use as hearing aids. They worked well for about three hours. After this they would only work one at a time. Each one would work if they were the only one in, but then stop working when both were put in. I followed all the instructions from Apple Support online although they pointed out three times in a short period that they are not sold for hearing aids. They were uninterested in helping me once I told them I wanted to use them as back up hearing aids. Very disappointing.
let us hear sound threpy and see the results later all the best .
Thank you sir
I love what you had explained
You are most welcome, Seila. Be well. 😊
I was curious about the newer iPhone mic s which picks up full sound and transfers it to ibuds. As a brand new bud 3 owner this feature seems to benefit hearing loss and has open 12:31 at ear features too.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this video!!! I have the pros!! 😭 Now I feel the need to buy the third Airpods. Will definitely consider it when I’m able to. I also love bright nose! Sound therapy is kicking me in the ass as I don’t care to listen to background noise but I know it will help me! Great video
You're welcome, Maria! Glad it was helpful. Be well. :)
Once again Benthank you for your kind spirit and gentle nature,, you have a calming effect and I appreciate that, for what it is worth I have noise induced tinnitus and hyperacusis! Horrible combination

Excellent video full of information. I had sudden, profound hearing loss in one ear last year. I have hearing aids now that transmit sounds from the "dead" side to the good side. I love my regulars Airpods and use them all the time. also. I'm looking for an earbud with the "transparency" mode that would also have something like a Monaural mode so that the sounds from either side would be transmitted to both pods. Does the Airpod Pro allow for that? Thanks again for a great video.
I don’t believe Airpods will transmit sound like the BI/CROS hearing aids you’re describing. Thank you for the kind words!
Excellent presentation. I do have a question though. I have tinnitus after vaccine and now have mild hearing loss bilaterally. I would think I would better off long term, not to wear headphones to further damage my hearing? I would imagine the occluding style would be especially contraindicated? Thank you.
There's an option on air pods pro to protect your ears and it won't allow the music to go over 80db I have mine set and I listen to em at about 30% volume , totally safe
@@siixserellomusic638 Thank you so much for that great bit of information.😊
Please talk about over the ear noise reduction headphones like the Sony MX5s.
Thank you for the overview, many questions answered for me. I’m using the iPod pro to manage tinnitus and “bilateral moderate to moderately-severe hearing loss from 3000 to 4000 hz”. They seem to work well for me but you said you wouldn’t advise for moderately-severe hearing loss, any specific reason for this? Thank you.
Over-the-counter devices can sometimes for used for people with mild hearing loss. For moderate to severe to profound hearing loss, we highly recommend working with an audiologist to ensure your proper hearing prescription due to amount of hearing loss.
Thanks. I have been trying to figure this out for my Tinnitus. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome, Jeremy! Be well.
Very helpful video. How about the AirPods Max (over ear) - would they be similar in effect to the AirPods Pro with the transparency features?
The best option would be bone conduction headphones or open ear headphones. While the transparency features are great, if you are going to be using sound therapy for hours during the day, we want your ear to be as open as possible to still hear daily sounds in our environment.
Awesome presentation , AirPods Pro offer a safety feature to make sure no sounds become to loud when listening to music and it lets you know if you have gone over that threshold , I use it everyday love it thanks again for this video!
That’s actually your iPhone tracking your the loudness of your sound! You can see how your phone monitors your sound through your settings!
Glad it was helpful. :)
This was so helpful
I'm delighted to hear that you found the video helpful! 😊
Dr.ben Tell me a good company, models hearing aid of fitting range 120 Db(BTE)
What about if i have tinnitus and moderate hearing loss? Which one will be better and is it a good idea to use them as hearing aids?
If you have tinnitus and moderate hearing loss, it's crucial to consult with a professional audiologist. They can assess your hearing needs, evaluate the severity of your hearing loss and tinnitus, and recommend appropriate solutions. Using devices like the iPods Pro as hearing aids may not provide the tailored amplification and features necessary for addressing your specific hearing concerns.
I have moderate hearing loss and tinnitus in my left ear, and normal levels of hearing in my right ear with slight tinnitus. This was caused by sudden hearing loss about a year ago. Would you recommend the Airpods 3 or Pros in my case?
Hi Kyle, thank you for asking. This device could help. It depends on more information that we do not yet know about your history. At Treble Health, we offer free consultations via telehealth. We are accepting new patients and would gladly consider you as a new client. Feel free to contact our team at Treble Health to sign up for an appointment.
I guess I am the oddball, as my air pod pros have begun to actually *cause* me to have tinnitus when I use them. If I leave them off a few days the squealing stops. After many years of ear bud (pod) use, this is a new development. Weird.
Isn't it the bluetooth that causes that?
Hi Ben, would Airpods work for a person who's left ear (bones within the ear) were damaged a/ around the time of birth leading to deafness in that ear? Would there be a better option?
Hey aidan, you asked some good personalized questions here. My answer depends on more information that I do not yet know about your history. Feel free to contact our team via email and we can do our best to help you. Our email is contact@treblehealth.com
i own a android phone can i still set up this with a apple tablet as a hearing aid or i need to carry an iphone with me at all times? thanks
Airpods can be used with any Apple or Android technology (anything with bluetooth). Though there may be some feature limitations when using them with a non-Apple device.
Do both versions airpod 3 and pro allow you to modify the sound in conjunction with your level of hearing loss?
Airpods 3 won’t work for hearing loss because they don’t have transparency mode.
Is that can control titinus sounds?
Can you use an Ipad instead of an Iphone to use?
Dr ben plz tell me range 120 Db hearing aid.
How can I help?
Can I use it for hyperacusis
As a tinnitus and hyperacusis sufferer, I avoid all sounds, I mean all sounds. It has altered my life completely. Here's my meditation to manage my tinnitus: ruclips.net/video/1KntXOoK1DY/видео.html
In my opinion you shouldnt use these wireless earplugs at all. In fact they can all contribute to tinnitus overall.
Is this unavailable for Android smartphones?
You can still use airpods through Bluetooth if you have an android but Samsung has their own EarPods that’s similar to Apple’s Airpods! I used to work at tmobile so I would know 😭
Dr. Ben
I wanna know I have tinnitus about 7 months due to prolonged exposure to loud sounds how can I improve my tinnitus to make it less noticeable or have it fully go away??
I was also informed my cholesterol level is high is that also affect the tinnitus?
Hey Muhammad, you asked some good personalized questions here. My answer depends on more information that I do not yet know about your history. Feel free to contact our team via email and we can do our best to help you. Our email is contact@treblehealth.com
It never goes away. I have had it for fifteen years and it is overwhelming. I avoid all sound. I have a meditation that I use to quiet it when I get up in the morning. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/1KntXOoK1DY/видео.html The meditation doesn't work every morning but it puts it in the background completely when it does.
I found your bumping of the microphone in this video to be uncomfortable, and stopped me from completing this video.
Am I the only one that doesn't like the idea of having anything wireless in my ears? Especially when you already have tinnitus..
I know I heard and u can look up on Apple reviews they cause tinnitus…I saw some person that had them for a month then malfunctioned and a loud feedback was heard and now he has tinitus
I completely agree.
I dont think there's something wrong with that if you use on ear TWS (without silicon tips) or headphones. Something like the airpods pro 2 coz they block out the ear canal
so, you're promoting WiFI, RMF/EMI WTF?
