Misko the fuckin greatest. I literally just remembered this song watching one of your videos. 8 years late replying to this comment but you are the man!
Years ago, Stefano had a residency at my college’s music school. He came in and played this piece for my beginner guitar class and I’ll be damned if I didn’t start crying right there on the spot. The beauty of his music and the physical resonance of it being played live is something that sticks with me to this day. This video helps bring it back!
I saw him perform live waaaaay back at a restaurant in Austin Texas. He had technical difficulties with his rig. For about three minutes there was a loud hum coming from one of his pieces of equipment until he could sort it out. I was embarrassed because I brought people on with me who had t heard of him and I was really playing him up on the way there. After the technical problems his performance was flawless.
I think you are amazing. Your music has gotten me through so many long term hospital stays. When I walk outside and find a piece of grass to sit on and listen to you I am instantly connected to my faith in something bigger and more beautiful than life itself. Thank you.
That's a very moving comment, I wish you luck. I'm going to find myself a piece of grass as soon as the sun shines and sit on it to listen to that song. Thank you Lynette (and Stefano)
The guitar is an extension of himself. He is so connected to this, such a beautiful thing to watch and listen to the passion he feels. This takes tremendous finger strength and rhythm. An amazing work of art. Thank you.
What a treat. Just watched that movie Into the Wild and happened to stumble upon this gem. Excellent, razor-sharp guitarwork performance. Beautiful song.
Explores the hidden depths and challenges of hammer on guitar playing. Beautifully invented. Perfectly keyed. Of course, deeply evocative of aerial boundaries, as all songs that mix reverb, hammer on drone, and harmonic syncopation will forever do.
Thanks Stefano, I have enjoyed your work for years, I was so pleased to be able to send it to my grandson who is a talented guitarist, I think it will be great inspiration, m
Those who made critics do not know anything, creations like this is what the world of music need, not the stupid music of today that the media promote so much.
Stefano Barone has a wealth of talent. In my book he is one of the most talented acoustic players i have ever seen. I have played guitar for well over 30 year and i would just love to play along with this talent. He is pure genius! Keep the fantastic sounds coming Stefano. Best Wishes to you.
Some interesting comments below, but to many that are ill judged. Yes yes yes he's using effects on his guitar....so what! Using effects correctly is a skill on its own and should be respected! This to me this is a work of art and NOT a technical masterpiece...what's wrong with that? Enjoy it for what it is and don't judge it by what it's not! And by the way, anyone with an ounce of experience will know that playing for this long with left hand hammer on and pull offs is NOT easy.
Very true , imagine right handed hammers on and pull offs are hard as well;). This guy wouldn't be signed to candyrat if he was exceptional. I know all the critics don't think he could make the nickelback line up
***** Not sure about that in this case. The technical difficulty of what he's playing isn't that high, so I'd argue that a lot of players could physically recreate this. But as we're all aware, it's much harder to create than it is to replicate.
i am. i must’ve added this video to my favorites when i was in middle school or something when it first came out. i remember being mesmerized by his playing.
What a beautiful passionate young talented soul of the world. Lucky us who have the opportunity to listen to this gift. WOW! I didn't think a guitar could sound so incredible! Very hypnotizing, soothing to the soul.
EARGASM!!! These 7 minutes flew by so damn fast, with so many thoughts and dreams.. Awsome work !!! Brilliant sound !!! Fantastic playing !!! THAT IS what I CALL MUSIC !!!
by the way to anybody saying the track is fake its quite clearly been recorded in a studio and then mimed to i go to the studio this was done and i know it was done by this artist in question so stop complaining its clearly done properly and synced to a video afterwards. and please just enjoy it its a beautiful song
Great to see true artists pushing the boundaries of the guitar. Andy McKee and Stanley Jordan are some of these artists. Seeing Stefano play and incorporating tapping with an e-bow is simply magical. I have been playing the guitar for 35 years and I will always admire fantastic music created through sheer love and devotion for the instrument.
How far has this instrument gone...from a parlour novelty...to this? I am a traditionalist, but I cannot help but appreciate the beauty of this. Great stuff.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at a small concert on my campus. He was incredibly humble, and was actually a really nice guy. He came into our guitar session and played this piece for us a few days before the concert too... pretty awesome to see this live... twice.
Absolutely wonderful, fantastic arrangement and composition. Watching you play keeps me inspired to keep on playing. Thanks for such an amazing performance!
Who else clicked this just because of the "Batman" in the title? xD That being said, this is phenomenal. I think I've watched this video over 20 times and am still absolutely mesmerized every time I watch it. Thank you for sharing this with the world..
I dont get the bad critics really...i see an amazing musician with an incredible gift and love ,thats what i hear blessings from portugal you are amazing
A masterful, total performance. Not only is the piece of music lovely to listen to, but visually its execution reveals a passionate, "labor of love". Subtle elegance.....beautiful in every way. (I have lost count of how many times I have listened to, AND watched(!) this video!)
STOP UPLOADING THIS STUFF TO RUclips! I'm NEVER GOING TO GET ANYTHING DONE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Seriously though... I just... completely go somewhere else while listening to this... Out of body experience is what this music is... Candyrat you are providing a great service to quality music. Please.. keep doing what you do...

it's January 1st 2020 and I'm here again to listen to this piece that makes me fly far.
On so many levels, I love this performance. As a music lover, a guitarist, and a dreamer. It never ceases to capture me.
Listening to this song for the first time since about 2009, brings back a lot of emotions.
Same here. This channel was the shit back then.

One of the great masterpieces of tapping guitar. The song is, I dont have words. Just one for the ages. Thank you Mr Barone.
❤
Im just glad after all these years this song got its millions. Took some time but it got there. Bravo Stefano Bravo.
The guitar is an extension of himself. He is so connected to this, such a beautiful thing to watch and listen to the passion he feels. This takes tremendous finger strength and rhythm. An amazing work of art. Thank you.
I'm super stoned right now and... and this was exactly the kind of song I was looking for to chill too. Incredible skills. Cheers
Could not agree more

I'm still listening to this song, it transmits a certain serenity to it, giving me a relaxing vibe that's hard to describe. Stay awsome man!!!
What wizardry is this.
All you need is an enchanted strings and to be a level 90 Guitar Priest. lol
No priests, just patience
Joseph Khoroosi Oh I know, trust me I know. I play guitar as well and it surely takes practice. :-)
Still remains one of the best songs I ever heard on guitar... Fantastic!

Thank you amazing human. For the beauty you create. I'm thankful for your passion. Go whit the light
0:01 - 6:52 is my favorite part
I agree. If you focus intently on the portion between 0:01 - 6:52, you'll hear where this piece really shines.
whenever a guitarist sounds like he's playing more than one instrument to me there good.
That was pretty much my thought, too.
come back to this masterpiece every year since 2008 such a banger
How do you make music with just hammer ons and pull offs. I try it and it garbled junk lol. This is awesome
this song should get promoted... genius!

I thought of Batman in no shape or form listening to this.
+MrJamesLowery What about Alexander Supertramp?
+MrJamesLowery It's a riff on an old NES batman track!
For anyone that likes retro game music check out the journey to silius soundtrack for nes. same developer as the batman game too
I just imagined Batman looking out into the city night atop a hill........ quite the image
I found out today that this track is named after Chris' pseudonym, which is kind of eerie considering I've listened to this track years before.
still here since it fist came out 15 yrs ago, always come back to this banger every year

Amen brother
When I'm reading comments on RUclips, I have to remember one thing: those who can, do. Those who can't, criticize. This guy is amazing.
Karl Markham Prolly the haters of this are the retarded fans of shits like KSI and so on..
