  • Catfishing on the Tennessee River in the spring. Catfish can be caught on cut bait on ledges close to shallow backwater openings near the deep river chanel. Bait will gather in these warmer backwaters and the giant catfish will follow the bait. monsterrodholders.com/wp-admi...

I just love it. As an old farm boy from Illinois, I'm used to fishing creeks & ponds. To have a chance at big blues and flat heads on the Tennessee River would be a dream come true. I guess you catch so many smaller blues that you don't bother filleting the one I saw you catching in this video. You're making me hungry for catfish!

I am so thankful for you to catch this fish. I don't say that much because of course I want to catch it but if not me I'm so glad it was you. I bought my first four monster rod holders and couldn't be happier with the product. The brackets they came with for my boat worked perfectly.

SUGGESTION... Get yourself a couple of Seamstress type Measuring Tapes in Inches and leave them on your boat, Steve.. Then you can get an Estimated Weight of the Fish by using this Measurement to Weight Equation... You can even use a String or Rope and tie knots to measure, until you can get back to a Tape Measure or Ruler... Measure the Length x Girth x Girth / 800 = Approx. Weight... Yep, it's that easy... Just Multiply Length from Tip to Tip x Girth Twice, then divide it by 800 and you'll get your Weight within a pound or two. Easier than a Scale, especially on Big fish and when you're alone... Keep up the great videos, Steve and Thank you for sharing them with us~! ;~)

Steve Douglas, you have made some amazing content and I personally have learned a lot that I am now passing down to my boys. Thank you for another great video and I hope to land a monster lack that sooner than later. Here in Oklahoma we get big blue and flatheads, but not like that one.
