- Testing a new catfish Bait that I found on FaceBook called Dark water premium baits, you can find this bait on the Monster rod holder site monsterrodholders.com/product... on the Ohio River with prepared, cured, or processed bait made out of Asian carp.

I was surprised when I saw the bags of asian carp cause I use the exact same bait up here in north Texas. I ordered mine from a tackle shop in Missouri and definitely works on big blues. Tight lines Catfish people. 😎✌

I sure have spent a lot of time fishing, boating, and skiing in the Ohio and Green River. Caught some monsters with my dad there. 48 pounder on rod and reel, pulled the boat upriver.
Always nice to see your still making it out to the river, hope to see you catch some more big blues down here on Guntersville lake.

Highly recommend this bait. I used it for the first time this past Saturday and I had very good results. I caught 4 in a tournament. Lost one about 30-40lbs.
Never tried any packaged stuff but carp is one of my favorite big blue baits leaves a great scent trail when fresh
I've caught flat heads on carp too..my top 2 favorite baits is shad and yellow bellies

Hey Steve love your show man. That kid Hagan Grubbs uses a lot of carp for bait. It looks like that stuff might be a good alternative for a weekend fisherman like myself.
Hagen Grubs catfishing he using Asian carp a lot. He has caught some monsters useing carp. Im going have to try that prepared Asian carp bait. Thanks for sharing Mr. Douglas.

My father and I have been fishing the Ohio river as long as I can remember. Good to see locals killin em too! Might have to try out that carp, this garlic shrimp will always be my first!
That first blue cat had a black tail fin, kinda cool never seen a light colored blue cat that had a dark tail fin. Btw love your rod from TWC
I bet that stuff would work really good on channel cats. They are known to eat anything, and that looks like a lot of tough baits in one package. I'll have to find some of it
I've seen a few videos Hagen Grubbs using Asian carp. He seems to do petty good on it
A good use for those Asian carp.
I catch a lot of fish on Asian Carp.. Been using for about 2years and it will always put either a channel or a Blue in the boat!!
As a commercial fisherman we use carp for bait all the time, we try to use the red carp or grass carp if we can get them, if not, after I bait my lines I paint the white carp with red dye with a paint brush and that works a lot better for me.
Last video I saw with you and Asian carp, you tried fileting your leg.
That was quite the ordeal!
I live on the Ohio river in Lawrence county and at one time a few years back there were signs telling people to not touch or eat the fish in the river. I never knew why but I do hope things are better then before

Asian carp are a great fish to fight. Fun. And you get bait or throw them on the shore to feed others
Hey what brand of line do you use? Also, are those your own line of rods and reels?
I fish on the Mississippi and go out of my way to get one to jump into the boat. Some days it is the bait. It is really good if the gar are stealing your other bait (they should make leather out of the skin).
Yeah sometimes I have had to use pliers to get the carp off

We use carp in Texas for Cats and Alligator Gar religiously here in Texas. It's candy! 🍭

Do you have spot lock on that trolling setup? If so, just tap that when a fish is on and not worry too much about drifting too far off course. :)

Asian carp works pretty good up here on the wabash in the summer time, I haven't tried it in the cooler months yet
They are excellent for trottlining. Their so tough bait stealers have trouble stripping the hooks.

Fresh Asian carp. Easy to catch is a great catfish bait in the west.

Been using it since 2007 when I learned of it. Very seldom use anything else. Can not get skipjack on Scioto river in my area.

for cut carp ya put the guts in the bag and keep it fairly fresh

Will this work in the Mississippi lock and dam 15 the biggest best dam out of them all. Massive flathead but we have zero blues! Too many lock and dams and we are too far up stream

Was it refrigerated when you bought it? If not, then it probably doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but when you bought it, it was sealed in a vacuum, so I don’t know!

That big blue was got on pole and was using squirrel head's for bait like I said it 71- pounds
Asian I found is great catfish bait froze work sometimes fresh Asian always deadly because it's tough bloody and you can throw Huge pieces if need be

What you showed is not 100% by no means ,but it's obvious that on this day the packaged bait produced where your skipjack did not. I'd love to see how many times this would work in a role.

Use to take a grass carp with archery tackle & cut up just like you are using. Excellent on the channel cats. Then one day, the South Dakota Game, Fish, & parks outlawed the use of ANY CARP for cut bait. Going to stop the spread of Asian carp, by not using dead fish for bait. Beyond stupid.
