I was surprised when I saw the bags of asian carp cause I use the exact same bait up here in north Texas. I ordered mine from a tackle shop in Missouri and definitely works on big blues. Tight lines Catfish people. 😎✌
I sure have spent a lot of time fishing, boating, and skiing in the Ohio and Green River. Caught some monsters with my dad there. 48 pounder on rod and reel, pulled the boat upriver.
Morning Steve, Having my first cup of coffee fishing with you and you're using Asian carp sounds interesting. It be nice to be doing something with that invasive species. I'm looking forward to seeing the next time you try it out. God bless you all Steve and tight lines and big cats. Has always much peace and love for Northeast Texas🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a commercial fisherman we use carp for bait all the time, we try to use the red carp or grass carp if we can get them, if not, after I bait my lines I paint the white carp with red dye with a paint brush and that works a lot better for me.
Highly recommend this bait. I used it for the first time this past Saturday and I had very good results. I caught 4 in a tournament. Lost one about 30-40lbs.
I live on the Ohio river in Lawrence county and at one time a few years back there were signs telling people to not touch or eat the fish in the river. I never knew why but I do hope things are better then before
Hey Steve love your show man. That kid Hagan Grubbs uses a lot of carp for bait. It looks like that stuff might be a good alternative for a weekend fisherman like myself.
Hagen Grubs catfishing he using Asian carp a lot. He has caught some monsters useing carp. Im going have to try that prepared Asian carp bait. Thanks for sharing Mr. Douglas.
I fish on the Mississippi and go out of my way to get one to jump into the boat. Some days it is the bait. It is really good if the gar are stealing your other bait (they should make leather out of the skin).
Will this work in the Mississippi lock and dam 15 the biggest best dam out of them all. Massive flathead but we have zero blues! Too many lock and dams and we are too far up stream
I bet that stuff would work really good on channel cats. They are known to eat anything, and that looks like a lot of tough baits in one package. I'll have to find some of it
Was it refrigerated when you bought it? If not, then it probably doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but when you bought it, it was sealed in a vacuum, so I don’t know!
My father and I have been fishing the Ohio river as long as I can remember. Good to see locals killin em too! Might have to try out that carp, this garlic shrimp will always be my first!
Hey man I can see the Wolf Creek Ky. boat ramp from my farm. If you ever want to try it out I know where there is one hell of a flat head hole in the Ohio River.
Good afternoon Steve, was just checking out your video using the package carp. I thought it would be good for me since I don't have a way to catch bait. I called there number to maybe order and wrong number in ad.
Steve buddy think we could go fishing sometime I been trying to catch eaters had no luck in 2 months. I want to learn how to drift fish the right way. And bottom bouncing I must be doing something wrong. My email on my channel. I'm a young channel I have my boat it's not pretty but I like it. Got alot in the old thing 😆
What you showed is not 100% by no means ,but it's obvious that on this day the packaged bait produced where your skipjack did not. I'd love to see how many times this would work in a role.
Use to take a grass carp with archery tackle & cut up just like you are using. Excellent on the channel cats. Then one day, the South Dakota Game, Fish, & parks outlawed the use of ANY CARP for cut bait. Going to stop the spread of Asian carp, by not using dead fish for bait. Beyond stupid.

I'm also in north Texas. where do you buy it at?
Fort Worth here! We use carp. Is this only a Texas thing??
I sure have spent a lot of time fishing, boating, and skiing in the Ohio and Green River. Caught some monsters with my dad there. 48 pounder on rod and reel, pulled the boat upriver.
Never tried any packaged stuff but carp is one of my favorite big blue baits leaves a great scent trail when fresh
I've caught flat heads on carp too..my top 2 favorite baits is shad and yellow bellies

How interesting. If this stuff takes off what a great way to thin the Asian carp and make gettin good bait easier. I will be watching out.
Always nice to see your still making it out to the river, hope to see you catch some more big blues down here on Guntersville lake.
I've seen a few videos Hagen Grubbs using Asian carp. He seems to do petty good on it
That's the bait John Jamison worked on isn't it? I'm glad to see it worked, any way those carp can be used is a good deal.
Don't think that would be my first choice but it is always good to have some back-up bait handy
Hagen Grubs catfishing he using Asian carp a lot. He has caught some monsters useing carp. Im going have to try that prepared Asian carp bait. Thanks for sharing Mr. Douglas.
How fast do you troll when dragging? Early spring?
Looks like a nice bait to have available in a pinch. Fish on!
I fish on the Mississippi and go out of my way to get one to jump into the boat. Some days it is the bait. It is really good if the gar are stealing your other bait (they should make leather out of the skin).
Yeah sometimes I have had to use pliers to get the carp off
may i ask which section of the ohio you are on here ?
if i havent already asked that is lol kentucky is out my front door about 600 yards lol
How long do you think the bait is good for while drifting or dragging. Scent wize
good video-new idea for bait sure enough/just started watching your videos-good luck in the future
Where did you purchase that boat cover?
Will this work in the Mississippi lock and dam 15 the biggest best dam out of them all. Massive flathead but we have zero blues! Too many lock and dams and we are too far up stream
We don't have Skipjack here.
One word for Dark water....... EBAY !
Good video Steve 👍🏻

Been using it since 2007 when I learned of it. Very seldom use anything else. Can not get skipjack on Scioto river in my area.
Was it refrigerated when you bought it? If not, then it probably doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but when you bought it, it was sealed in a vacuum, so I don’t know!
Asian carp are a great fish to fight. Fun. And you get bait or throw them on the shore to feed others
interesting vieo always looking to add to the Bait arsenal keeps us informed on continued results please sir and where we can get it thanks Steve
Do you have spot lock on that trolling setup? If so, just tap that when a fish is on and not worry too much about drifting too far off course. :)
Where did you order the Asian carpet & Skipjack from
My father and I have been fishing the Ohio river as long as I can remember. Good to see locals killin em too! Might have to try out that carp, this garlic shrimp will always be my first!
Would like more information on this product. Where can I get it? Brand? Anything to help locate it.
for cut carp ya put the guts in the bag and keep it fairly fresh
What a view. Sir you live, work and fish in paradise
Hey man I can see the Wolf Creek Ky. boat ramp from my farm. If you ever want to try it out I know where there is one hell of a flat head hole in the Ohio River.
Hey Van are you from Meade county?

I catch a lot of fish on Asian Carp.. Been using for about 2years and it will always put either a channel or a Blue in the boat!!
Thx Steve
We use carp in Texas for Cats and Alligator Gar religiously here in Texas. It's candy! 🍭
Hey what brand of line do you use? Also, are those your own line of rods and reels?
Fresh Asian carp. Easy to catch is a great catfish bait in the west.
I think you should invite big John on a fishing trip…sure miss that guy
Hey can't find the dark premium baits here in colorado so where can I order from
The website. Just Google it and it will pop up.
Good afternoon Steve, was just checking out your video using the package carp. I thought it would be good for me since I don't have a way to catch bait. I called there number to maybe order and wrong number in ad.
they said they can be contacted at Darkwaterpremiumbaits@gmail.com
Great job Steve.
Good video Steve
Steve Did the coffee grounds work on that nasty cooler
Where did you purchase from
Asian carp works pretty good up here on the wabash in the summer time, I haven't tried it in the cooler months yet
They are excellent for trottlining. Their so tough bait stealers have trouble stripping the hooks.
Last video I saw with you and Asian carp, you tried fileting your leg.
That was quite the ordeal!
Can't wait to meet you guys at CatCon Kc!!
A good use for those Asian carp.
That first blue cat had a black tail fin, kinda cool never seen a light colored blue cat that had a dark tail fin. Btw love your rod from TWC
Where is this at?
Great video
What's the link to get that bait from ?
Babe I've seen other anglers on RUclips use Asian carp they caught some monster blues on it great video keep them coming and God bless 🙏🙏🙏🤟
You're alive!
Nothing like a day on the river
plenty of carp here in Oklahoma no need to get it from the store the cats love it
That big blue was got on pole and was using squirrel head's for bait like I said it 71- pounds
Good video good info thank you 👍
Finally another video
Take me fishing steve I'll wash boat do whatever I just want to fish with ya only live 10min apart.
Clean part of the Ohio
I really hope that works for you, that would be a fantastic use for that invasive species!
Freaking awesome except never in stock 😂
This is good to see. Any way that a dent can be put in the population of those carp is good. Can create some jobs too! And catch fish. Win win win
Id like to try it....
What name of company you bought it from?
Read description
I’m thinking y’all need a Kayak boat.. Just a idea
I am from ohio I haven't caught my first fish yet on the blue River carp
Asian I found is great catfish bait froze work sometimes fresh Asian always deadly because it's tough bloody and you can throw Huge pieces if need be
That big blue was caute
First lol your the best i wanna go fishing
Nice. I am going to try this bait.
Should have tried one fisherman with carp one with skipjack and seen if there was a significant difference
That's exactly what should have happen🤙
i know the skipjack works I used the perserved bait exclusively so I know it works
@@SteveDouglastheCatfishDude I hear ya but it would make for more suspense/drama in the video. lol
Anything that gets invasives out of the ecosystem is a win in book.
I need my fishing license

Asian carp and sharp knives, not a good combination for steve, just saying
mr steve
