I'll never understand why people want these things added to the game.
These artillery vehicles are just downright bad and there's nothing they can do that other tanks can't, but better.
All they do is slow down the grind and they're horribly unfun to play.

@@joenuts5167the level of fakeness for those 2 is beyond the sholef. The panther 2 would never have existed in the state it is modelled in. And the tiger 2 105 is a confused mess as the gun was planned for the e75 and Lowe programs with no way to fit in the tiger 2 turret. Hell the tiger 2 105s gun clips into the rangefinder at 0degrees in the preview.

To be real if Sholef was modeled correctly with all the features it has it would be arguably vidar level premium.

6:14 fun fact! the Type-75 SPH is actually 6.3, a full 1.0 BR lower than the Sholef. Type-99 is same as the Sholef. both are better than the Sholef.
And guess what? The VIDAR is only .7 above the 99, and is infinitely better than all 3!

The type 75 sph is so goated man, it has access to higher velocity HE rounds and a 10 second autoloader only at 6.3, and the mobility is quite good

Today I found out that clouds are local and I hate it. On top of all the things gaijin refuses to fix I don't see why they saw it necessary to make clouds local.
Yeah its disgusting eh, so many times been accurately shot down in a cloud and wondered why! Apparently it also depends on GFX and in some cases can be global, but e.g. patchy cloud is local. I think layered/contiguous layered cloud is server side with the gfx caveats. I've heard both confirmed and denied reports so I think it depends on what type of cloud.

@@StarWarsExpert_ Merkava mk.4 armor and weight, Namer armor and weight, and just a clear lack of care when adding vehicles. Theres are quite a few unique vehicles that could be added to the tree so it wouldn't be so copy paste but Gaijin took the lazy route.

Speaking of annoying things; You can machine gun a single camera on the back of the Namer 30 and it takes out the ENTIRE ECS making you no longer able to engage enemies.

6:15 actually, no, that thing is 6.3 you are 7.3, for some god forsaken reason, despite being worse in every other way, they even have similar muzzle velocities, which i thought set the 7.3 SPHs apart from the 6.0 and 6.3 ones, but i guess not lamo. genuinely do not know what they were thinking of this, refusing to give it its irl stab saying "just because it has fire on the move abilities doesn't mean it has a stab... (also missing its LRF) why dont they just give it what it has irl and move it to 8.7 or so, so then it would be atleast unique because right now it might just be fighting the French SPH for the worst title.

Drivers Controls were added to make light vehicles, and ones with excessive amounts of open space, more balanced. They were added alongside FCS, Power Systems, and Electronic Equipment.
Most SPGs dont seem to have them, and most low tier armored cars don't either. It's mostly high tier wheeled vehicles, AFVs, and maybe SPGS. MBTS, Mediums, Heavies, Lights, etc dont have them.

They have been. Not only did this BP have a mediocre flying boat and this, they straight up didn't even do anything naval. Easiest skip I've ever done.
If they modeled the Soviet heavies or any WW2 era Soviet vehicle with torsion bars correctly, there's just a thin 20mm plate where they enter the hull. The torsion bars are open to the crew compartment so HE will burst that plate and fail to protect the crew from high explosive.
What!? Gaijin adding a vehicle in a incomplete state that significantly diminishes it's performance while refusing to fix it for a extraordinary long time? They would never do that! :))

They ruined it… I was so excited for it, and they ruined it in every way possible...
No stabilizer, no fast turret traverse, no 6.67s reload, no 1200hp engine, weighs 60 tons instead of 45 tons, no 155mm HE shell and 30mm AP immune turret armor, no .50 cals, and low muzzle velocity…

@@bendawg8-wi4dr as a British main I know the pain dude. The TES/OES weigh nearly 75 tons but have worse armour than a BVM, a tank with nearly 30 tons of armour less. Complete joke.

IRL it doesnt have a stabilizer, it doesnt have an exceptionally fast turret travers, it has the same power pack as the merkava mk2b because it uses the same hull. It never got the m401 shell. The shells themselves are modelled accurately except for the fact that the velocities are based on an early 39 caliber gun when the Sholef V1 used a 45 caliber gun. Gaijin got a ton of stuff wrong but its not as bad as people are making it out to be.
Who knew that an artillery piece meant for firing miles behind frontlines is terrible at fighting MBT's in Urban style CQB on a world where all militaries agree to only conduct ground battles across a 200 metre frontline.
Then why vehicles like m109 and others, are pretty good at it ?

@@dancinduck6750 only vidar because finnish decided to put direct fire capability and armor on a vehicle thats biggest concern is weight and strategic mobility
It absolutely makes no sense irl as with a self propelled artillery you dont want any extra weight as you may relocate hundreds of kilometers at a time, you just want an aluminum box with a big cannon packed full of shells and fuel

This is War Thunder, you'll see people rushing a Maus in an M22, people use anything for tank v tank battles, but the issue is that the Sholef is so horribly wrong modeled and inconsistent in what it actually gets that Gaijin has practically made the tank up as a separate vehicle, if it gets the stabilizer LRF etc. it can casually be the same BR if not higher than the VIDAR and still do good
Basically the Sholef should be some kind of Israeli VIDAR, but Gaijin in their infinite wisdom, decided to butcher the vehicle

A tip for anyone playing HE slinger TD: If you can't get the roof, go to the other side; shoot underneath right below the hull to get the extremely thin bottom armor. Works on basically everything

I already hated the Overpressure system back when i still played (4+ years ago) and it first released... sometimes you hit a light vehicel with HE or HEAT, nothing happend..
Then you had cases where you either hit the Enemy, or the Enemy hit you, in such a light vehicel, just grazed it without any real damage and instant overpressure Death..
I even had one such Battle in Arcade with the Sd.Kfz.221 (s.Pz.B.41) and was hiding behind a Building because a Stug3A was before me.. we had a stand-off for about a Minute, until he decided to shoot a HE at the Ground.. it detonated around 2 to 3 meter away from my Vehicel, and being "only" a 75mm HE, it didnt do much.. i only had some Shrappnell that grazed my frontal left Tire, but that was apparently enough for the Game to give me a overpressure death -.-
If i had a dollar for everytime i knew gaijin is gonna make its community share military documents to make tanks better i would be a millionaire

Apparently it's supposed to be even bigger, the gun is supposedly shorter than it should be.
So much of the in-game Sholef looks like Gaijin just copypasted stats from the M109 and barely tweaked them instead of doing any research past the modeling (if they did that in-house at all).

I think the reason why the protection analysis shows that the IS-3 can be killed with HE by hitting its tracks is because the underbelly plate is around 30mm thick(if I remember correctly

Spook, with a sufficient HE round, you can put a shell right underneath the tonk to penetrate the weak belly armour. IF you can.
You know what tank launches ATGMs that almost always 1 shot? The m901 (day 11)
Day 111 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
I can bet the souls of my unborn children that Gaijin will release the Sholef V.2 which will basically be what the V.1 would've been as a premium vehicle.

I found out there's a setting to help with this: Controls, Common, View Controls, Sensitivity in zoom. Lower it to your preference.
